Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime Gyu! 7

Camelot and Lulu go to wake Fine and Rein up and find their room covered in scribbles. No, it’s not the work of Hinaichigo, it’s Pyupyu and Kyukyu, now scribbling on Fine and Rein’s faces… Fine and Rein are already worn out when they go to school and talk to Altessa, Lemon, Chiffon thanks to the commotion Pyupyu and Kyukyu caused. Pumo still has scribbles on his face. No, it’s not an “image change”, Chiffon-chan (^^;;) But where are Kyukyu and Pyupyu now? They’re in Fine and Rein’s bags, scribbling away…

Class for the day is held in the town near the school. They’re supposed to choose a shop and help out there and write a report about it. Poor Tanba Rin-sensei gets blown down by the wind before she finishes the explanation. There are all kinds of shops and places to eat in town that Fine and Rein have only passed by, so they want to check them out before getting to schoolwork. Pumo warns that they’d get docked points yet again…

イヤイヤイヤ~ イヤイヤ~
iyaiyaiya~ iyaiya~

Yes, the iyaiya dance is back, though in Gyu! style and a bit faster. Nice to see it again :) Of course, Chiffon finds it very fushigi. While they dance Pyupyu and Kyukyu splash around in some water… anyways, it’s off to the shop where they’ll be helping out. Fine beat Rein in a contest of paper-rock-scissors so they’re going to her choice — a place to eat sweets, of course. It’s completely empty, but Pyupyu and Kyukyu smell something and head to the back. There, the manager of the store is rather depressed that he can’t come up with the perfect sweet and looks at a photo of his father surrounded by students from the school… Pyupyu and Kyukyu quickly start eating away and fill themselves up before Fine and Rein can stop them.

The manager of the store is named Patty, and he offers everyone a rather delicious-looking piece. Pyupyu and Kyukyu eat away some more — bottomless pits, those two (^^;;) Fine happily eats as well. It tastes delicious to her, but Patty says that it’s a failure, it’s not what he’s looking for. Looking at a board covered with photos of students enjoying some sweets, Patty explains that his family has run a cafe in the town and that students from the school often came there.

There’s even a photo of a young Elza and Toluse there. Very cute. btw, that girl in the second picture there remind anybody of Haruhi? ;) Anyways…. when Patty took over the store fewer and fewer students came. It’s definitely that vice principal’s fault, Pumo says. Patty wants to bring everybody back with smiles with a new recipe. But what Fine ate was already plenty good enough… so that means it’ll be even better than that! Fine grabs Patty’s hands (Gyu!) and says they’ll help him out.

Rein, now wearing an apron, thinks sweets should be colorful and cute so she brings out a platter of various fruits. Fine suggest they put everybody’s favorite foods in it — cola and fish and potato chips… I’ve seen this somewhere before…. Somebody’s gonna die (((( ;゚Д゚)))ガクガクブルブル Chiffon helps out as well, looking very very cute in an apron. Of course, the peace and quite doesn’t last long as Pyupyu and Kyukyu once again start going on a rampage, throwing all sorts of things around and making a mess. Fine and Rein have had it with them now… but that makes Pyupyu and Kyukyu even more angry and after messing things up some more they go outside, following a butterfly…

Fine and Rein clean up after Pyupyu and Kyukyu, not too concerned about leaving them alone. But they might cause trouble again, Pumo says… then he can make sure that doesn’t happen. Poor Pumo, always having to do the hard work. Patty glances over and notices a bowl filled with a mixture of swirled creams…

Elizabert, along with Shasha and Carla, stand outside the town’s theater. It’s very much unsuitable to show a movie starring Elizabert, so as usual, she has it redecorated with a nice big mural of herself. Pyupyu and Kyukyu come along, pick up a red paint roller, and start painting all over the mural. Doesn’t seem like much of what Elizabert does goes well these days… Pyupyu and Kyukyu fly to the town park and start painting on the ground with a crowd gathered around watching and finding them rather cute. Toma watches from nearby, says the usual phrase and does the usual thing…

Fine and Rein have finished their… dessert…. and show it off to Altessa, Sophie, and Lemon. Tuna, natto, and curry rice…. I don’t think you can call that thing a dessert anymore….. You’d absolutely die if you ate that (((( ;゚Д゚)))ガクガクブルブル Chiffon, not knowing any better, says she’ll give it a taste since you won’t know until you try… Chiffon-chan, you’re much braver than I am (^^;;) Seeing Chiffon makes Patty remember the bowl he noticed earlier — he dips in finger in and tries it and… Pumo comes in to tell Fine and Rein about what’s happening with Pyupyu and Kyukyu, now stuck to the giant paint roller that Toma unleashed that’s painted all over the town now, so Fine and Rein(ry

So Toma’s plan is foiled once again. Tanba Rin-sensei tells Fine and Rein since they used magic during class they’re going to lose points. Chiffon says it was to help people, so Tanba Rin changes her mind and says they won’t lose points this time. But did they remember to do their schoolwork? Uh-oh… Patty comes up and says they did, bringing a bowl of his new dessert. Everybody tries it — it’s really yummy. Actually, he wasn’t the one that came up with it — it was thanks to Pyupyu and Kyukyu mixing all of that stuff into the creme. Sounds like Patty’s going to have more customers soon :)

While Pyupyu and Kyukyu sleep, Fine and Rein wonder where those things they had to fight came from. Something always happens wherever they go. Somebody is definitely after them, but who?

…so Fine and Rein finally realize that there’s someone behind all of the bad things happening. Looking at the schedule, it looks like it’s going to be a bit more (around episode 15, which is the last on the schedule that’s up now) before they find out that it’s Toma that’s behind everything. Until then I guess we’re stuck in this pattern… I don’t really mind, though, since fighting the monsters and such isn’t a huge focus of the show ;)

Anyways, if there’s one word for this episode it’s kawaii. Everybody looked cuter than usual, which is already plenty cute already as we all know. Chiffon-chan was especially cute with her fushigi fushigi and ponytails moving around and apron and such :) Bet she doesn’t eat anything Fine and Rein make again, though… Speaking of those two, so far it seems like Fine and Rein’s individual personalities are being brought out more than they were the first season. Both were really cute this time. They’re gonna have a rough time raising Kyukyu and Pyupyu to be good little angels…

Outside of Fine and Rein, Altessa and Sophie seem to getting a ton of screentime compared to the other Fushigiboshi characters. Altessa and Sophie are hilarious to watch, so that’s good and all, but I honestly would like to see more of the others… but we’re only 7 episodes in and there’s plenty of time left so I can’t really complain for now.

Speaking of the Fushigiboshi characters, next time is Solo’s turn to finally get in the spotlight. And who’s this nekomimi girl? ;)

I’ve neglected to mention this so far, but after every episode they show off some drawings that kids watching the show have sent in. Note the name below the Pumo (better job than I could do) there on the left — Kanbayashi Toyonao-kun, in other words a boy sent it in. Some ookii na otomodachi watching didn’t send it, did they? I see, got an eye for cute girls already there, Toyonao-kun, that’s why you’re watching, yes? ;)

  1. Considering how much trouble Fine and Rein gave Camelot in the first season it’s sorta poetic justice that Kyukyu and Pyupyu are giving them so much trouble now. ^_^

BTW, those last two pictures before the one of the fanart aren’t displaying. :(
