Nana gives Nyuu a good kick, but that's all she can do as Kouta gives her good smack and she runs away. But Mayu goes after her... and Nana tells Mayu about everything.
Back at the facility, Kakuzawa-sensei's lab assistant arrives to make a delivery... Kakuzawa's head (lovely..), to the chief, who is Kakuzawa's father. And he's got some plans, just as his son did, to create a new human race.
Back at Kouta's place, Nyuu has a fever and when she wakes up she's back to the other Nyuu and remembers again. And we finally see what she remembers.. poor Nyuu... she was all alone and teased. Those kids were horrible.. especially what they did to that poor dog that Nyuu had been looking after. Looks like we'll... y'all that haven't read the manga will finally learn the rest next time and what kind of relationship Nyuu and Kouta had as children. I already know, but I can't say ;)
Why, that's easy to predict, isn't it? The German title of the next episode is "Schöne Erinnerung" (Precious Memory). They wouldn't lie to us, would they?
(The irony is stifling)
And the Japanese title would be 追憶 (tsuioku), "reminiscence" ;)
The big question that follows this memory arc of the series :-
"Do Lucy deserves our pity ?"
Looks like there's much to argue about later...
I think that's easy to answer. In my eyes she definitely does, not even a question. I mean, bloody hell - how ugly can it get? And looking at the way the institution acts... her days there won't have been pretty ones.
You should at least watch the next Ep before answering this question and leave your final judgement to at the end of the anime.
Like Matthew, I've read all there is of the manga to read and have found Lucy to be of sympathetic to but unlikeable.
But Nyuu is cute,however.
Oh, I've read 1-8 too, and I can not see how you could NOT feel sympathetic to her ;) - which was the question.
Nyuu is a blank with the intellectual and emotional development of a 4-year old. How could you not like her? *winks* ... but she's running out of competition.
The thing that does it for me with Lucy is what she did with Mariko which I will not go into detail.
Then there's stuffs she did beyond Vol.8 of the manga....
Those dog-beating kids were such scumbags! Bet they were surprised when their heads exploded.
Why does everyone in this series have to hate on Nana?
I'm starting to understand Lucy now...they deserved every last drop of blood to be painfully ripped from their insides. Who would do that? ...well, onto episode 9.
