AIR 7
Corrected the bit I missed there at the end ;) I'm lacking in knowledge of Japanese history of that era so we'll see how I do with the next episode.

Got a lot to get through this time as we learn more about Yukito's mom, and what's going on with Misuzu, and the doll, etc., etc. ;)
Yukito looks after Misuzu after she got a bit dizzy and fell. She doesn't want to go to the hospital or anywhere, just rest a bit. Yukito goes over to her desk and takes a look at her 日記 (with pictures). Nothing but what she did with Yukito is written in it. Yukito tells her to not write what happened, but what she wants to do in it -- he'll make sure it comes true. So Misuzu says she wants to go to the beach with Yukito...
Yukito sits in the kitchen my himself and remembers something his mother said... That night Haruko comes home and Yukito tells her what happened to Misuzu. She doesn't seem to care, wanting to have the usual party. Yukito won't have any of that and asks why she took in Misuzu? Haruko says Misuzu was forced on her, she didn't want to take her in...
Yukito lays outside and remembers his mother again. Translating what she said as best I can, because it seems very important (please correct me if I've screwed up:
"Girls have dreams, you know. First, they dream of the sky. And then the dream gradually goes back. That dream eats away at the girl. They come to feel a pain that shouldn't exist, and soon they begin to forget everything. They become unable to even remember the name of the person they treasure most. And the morning they finish dreaming their last dream, the girl dies.
That girl was always alone. If their two hearts got close, both became ill. Both couldn't be saved. So that girl said, 'Please go away from me.' She was a very kind, strong girl. That's why I got through it without dying. But, that girl...
There's a girl in the sky with wings. Always by herself, she's disappearing without becoming an adult, repeating those sad dreams.."
Haruko tells Yukito that she's leaving on a trip. She'll leave taking care of Misuzu to Yukito. Yukito tells Haruko that Misuzu's dreaming, and those dreams are making her the way she is. Haruko thinks it's some kind of joke, though... Yukito tells Misuzu what happened, and afterwards they head towards the beach.
Misuzu seems to have trouble walking as they go to the beach. She finally breaks down like she did before, crying... Back in bed, she tells Yukito that she had a dream last night. She says it was a fun dream, and it seemed like a festival was going on. She then says that her dreams and the person Yukito's searching for must be connected. Yukito says he thinks not.. Misuzu says the dreams she's been having must be those of the other her. That girl's suffering. If she dreams more, she might understand what's going on and be able to help that girl. She began having these dreams after she met Yukito -- it all has to be connected somehow... When she tries to get out of bed she falls down -- her legs won't move..
Yukito again asks if he should take her to Hijiri. Misuzu says no and that she had a dream again. A dream of a journey through a forest she walked through for days and days, but she was able to make it because a precious person was with her. When Yukito walks out of her room something strange happens -- some person strikes at him with a sword and Yukito falls, but that person isn't there at all... There's a scar on Yukito's back from somewhere...
Misuzu seems to be suffering more and more, with Yukito looking on at her bedside. Later she seems to be better, playing cards by herself, and Yukito asks if he should call someone to come. But Misuzu's fine with just Yukito there... Yukito then says he's going to leave the house, and leave the town. If the two of them stay together any longer there won't be anything they can do, so he's decided to run away from her, go to a place far away where they won't meet again. They've gotten too close...
Yukito sits at the bus stop and remembers what Misuzu said as he left. She had another dream, a dream of being locked up all by herself and it was lonely. She had been waiting forever for someone to come get her.. She wants to go with Yukito. But he says he has to leave her, that's the only way things will be better.
Yukito goes to sleep and remembers his mother once again. This time she's putting on a performance with those dolls for children, who are enjoying it a lot. Yukito has that doll and he tries to make it move. His mother says that if he doesn't think that he wants to make people laugh that it won't move. He finally makes it move. Back to the beach where Yukito runs up to his mother. She holds out the doll and says that unfufilled wishes are inside it -- her mother, and her mother's mother, and before that all put sealed their power within the doll, someday to set someone's wish free. She's got one thing to ask of him -- it's up to him how to use it and he can even forget about the girl in the sky. Somewhere, in some town he'll meet a girl -- if he wants to save that girl no matter what he should put his feelings into the doll. His mother will be there with him...
Yukito wakes up to find a group of kids around him. He asks if they'd watch his show for a bit. He does the usual, making the doll walk, but that's rather boring, so the kids tell him to do more. He eventually gets the doll dancing and jumping.
As the sun sets he leaves to go back to Misuzu, sending the doll climbing onto her bed. He won't go anywhere, he wants to be with her. He asks her to watch the doll as it juggles some juice boxes. She seems to be in pain again and holds her hand out, which Yukito grabs. Why didn't he realize until now? He would have been happy being by her side and watching her laugh and smile, he thinks as he cries. The doll glows and Yukito is on the beach. The voice of his mother says to remember what he should do now. He wants to be by Misuzu's side, and if possible, wants to redo it all over again. Misuzu awakens to see Yukito gone...
Change scene -- a girl with wings flies and lands on top of a guy. It's 994 AD. The guy, Ryuuya, after the girl gets off of him, asks where she came from. Her name's Kanna. Quite the coincidence since the winged girl (翼人) he's supposed to protect is called Kanna. Kanna looks at him with a angry face and calls him a fool ;)
Wow, lotta stuff to get through this time, wasn't it? I felt like summarizing more than usual since what was said seemed rather important, especially what Yukito's mother said about girls, and the girl in the sky. Misuzu's definitely going through the same thing she was talking about, so... So what's happened to Yukito now?.. and what are we doing back in 994 AD? It seems like Yukito is somehow connected to that guy, and Misuzu to Kanna since she was in her dream. Too many questions to figure out there, ain't there? I'm not one who can speculate well so I'll leave that to y'all ;) And on a side note, none of the other AIR girls showed up this time. Wouldn't mind seeing them again sometime...

994 AD. The guy, His name is Ryu-ya.
Kanna is a Yoku-jin. Yoku-jin means wing-human.
Your translation is good but could be better. Bascially you got the main points correct.
The main thing is that the girl, who Yukito is searching for and also an incarnation of the Winged Girl, at some point of their live will start dreaming of the sky.And she will gradually recall the memories of the Winged Girl (and all her previous incarnation).Soon after, she will suffer intoreable pains, weaken and lose all their memories before dying.
If she has a true friend and lover, the other party will share her pain and both will die. That's why the girl will not allow herself to get too close to anybody even though she desire so.
After the girl dies, she will return to the sky to become the Winged Girl again before taking a Human form once more. But all her incarnation share the same fate.
Yukito's family, for generations, have tried to break this cycle but failed. And now, it's Yukito's turn. The doll Yukito's been carrying contains the hopes and powers of Yukito's ancestor who have failed and been females in the family like Yukito's Mother,Grandmother,Great Grandmother,etc...
The anime never explain why Yukito,a male, had been choosen, but the game does.By right,it was supposed to be Yukito's younger sister's turn to tried to break the cycle, but she's too sick to travel, hence Yukito took the burden. And this explains Yukito's feelings towards the sicken Misuzu in this Episode.
And I shall say that it's safe to say Yukito has exit the series. You will not see "Yukito" again (Hint, hint.)
I don't recall hearing those details directly said. I guess I was supposed to come up with that myself, wasn't I? oh well ;)
Thanks once again, Orochi :)
And I must commend that your Japanese isn't too weak if you can figure out the anachronistic Japanese from the Heian period used at the end of this episode.
The upcoming 2-3 Episode will be a real test for your comprehension of the Japanese language.
got to watch Koi's version....
... I hate how AIR just draws you in completely, making us wait for the next episode!
Excellent episode, and I was really feeling the whole Mizuzu-Yukito situation. ;_;
super-sad episode. i was almost crying when yukiyo was caring for Misuzu. i think i need to drop AIR from my raw watching list :P, can't understand and Koi's releases are fast and reliable.
I just replayed the end section of Dream for Misuzu's arc and paid special attention to Yukito's flash back to his childhood because I don't recall reading about a sister which Orochi mentioned. So here goes what I've read again.
It seems that Yukito was left and adopted in a temple since young (a perfect mirroring of Ryuya's past I might add, and it is probably intentional), and that one day a woman came and claimed to be his mother. At first he couldn't connect with this woman as his mother, but because of her kindness and the ability to move objects he didn't mind mingling with her. Shortly after she started to teach Yukito how to move the doll, Yukito started to felt a warmness that he never felt before when seeing the gentle smile of this woman when he can successfully move the doll, and he sensed something was changing inside him, and he started to get better and better at moving the doll because he wanted this woman to smile at him. After spending a month together, the woman asked Yukito if he was willing to travel with her, and Yukito agreed because he finally found someone he could call "family". The rest is pretty much the same.
I think what made Yukito so connected to Misuzu was because he saw a reflection of his old self in Misuzu, someone looking for a family, of which he had forgotten, and he also, for a long time, forgotten what it was like to make people smile using his doll (reflected by his half-hearted attempt in moving his doll solely for money).
What's interesting though is it wasn't explained why Yukito was lefted at the temple in the first place. Since it's safe to assume that the woman is Yukito's birth mother (in the script she did say that Yukito's bloodline will lead him to meet the girl one day). My guess was that he was left there because his mother wasn't expecting herself to come back once she was on her journey looking for the winged girl. But since the previous winged girl Yukito's mother met told her to save herself, she came back to get Yukito and preped him for the journey.
It seems that 20+a minutes coundn't be enough time to deal with the many-hour story of the game. I feel sorry that they (or he) got only a quarter-year season for this really nice anime based on my favorite game.
Hmm..a lot of interesting thoughts here. Thanks to everyone for that :) Just finishing up my summary which lacks a number of the insights here. (That last scene, I was thinking "What are they SAYING?". :p)
I'm almost with Kurogane and going to wait for subs, but I will soldier on... I guess :)
