Thursday Notes...

AnimeOnDVD reports that the second Princess Tutu DVD has been delayed. ADV's David Williams said that "Chances are, it looks at this point that it will have to be delayed a bit due to a couple of things that popped up with this volume. But don't worry, we still plan to get it out and push the show. Maybe it will help to know that there should be some updates coming to the Princess Tutu website shortly."

I wonder what problems they might have run into... oh well *sigh*

'kay, I'm back :)... but with a HUGE headache. I'm going to kill the trumpet that was sitting behind me during the concert (no offense to other trumpets out there). Here's what we played:

Early Light - Carolyn Bremer
Cloudburst - Eric Whitacre
Sun Paints Rainbows on the Vast Waves - David Bedford
Looking Upward Suite, I. By the Light of the Polar Star - John Philip Sousa
Aurora - Thomas Doss
Rolling Thunder - Henry Fillmore

Looking over the program notes... weird. Bremer is described as a composer "driven by hobgoblins of post-modernist cant", and she's done a work based on feminist symbolism. WTF? Pretty much the same weirdness for the other composers... though you most definitely can't go wrong with Sousa :) I hope we're playing more normal stuff for the next concert....

Anyways, I'll get to work now ;)

The UGA Wind Symphony "Atmos!" -- so called since all the stuff we're playing has to do with the atmosphere and such. Rainbows, thunder, an aurora, etc. -- concert is in a bit so I'll be getting ready for that shortly. Stuff when I get back :) btw, I've withdrawn from that Japanese Literature class I've written about every now and then. Nobody told me 4th year classes were that difficult ;) I knew it was 無理 for me to take 3 literature classes at once; especially since the last literature class I took before this semester was the 2nd freshman English class.... 2 1/2 years ago? :)

btw, moyism hasn't gone away, he's just moved himself ;)

I was somewhat surprised to see something NASCAR-related on ANN today:

During this weekend's Daytona 500 Coca-Cola will air a 60-second ad, entitled "Fantastic Four," featuring animated super-hero versions of Nascar racers Tony Stewart, Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte and Kevin Harvick. The ad is the first ever Nascar-themed, anime-style ad and the only animated ad in CoCa-Cola's "Make it Real" campaign. The ad will also be shown in 10,000 movie theaters across the USA and a shorter, 30-second version will be aired during Nascar broadcasts all season

Anyboby else watching the Daytona 500 this Sunday besides me? ;)

I saw that commercial when I went to watch Million Dollar Baby today. Don't care much for Nascar, though.

It's a little strange to have an animated ad as part of a "Make it Real" campaign. ^_^
