Mahoraba 9
Apologies to the Tamami fans out there. I had to take a lot of caps of Ryuuko ;)
After the little story about the fourth Umeboshi princess showing up, we see Shiratori out after drinking a lot with Momono and Tamami.. Momono and Tamami wake up and they hear Shiratori mumble だめだよ梢ちゃん, immediately getting their interest.. They come up with a little something to do to him ;)
And after they're done with him he turns into Shiratori Ryuuko-chan. He's just a bit surprised when he wakes up and sees that they've made him into a girl (he makes a good girl, doesn't he?). Tamami snaps a few pictures, of course. But there's one thing left to do... make him wear Momono's Love 20000 勝負下着! Shiratori runs out, screaming "Nooooo!", and Momono orders Tamami to chase. Tamami turns around snaps a picture of Momono holding the underwear, saying that she (Momono) always wears that kind ;)
Shiratori hides, thinking of what might happen if Kozue (or Nanako, or Saki-chan) runs into him like this.. she'll think he's some kind of hentai.. And of course Kozue is right there. But she realize that it's him, though, she thinks him a vistor, then he runs away to hide again. Sayoko and Asami pass by... then stop and look at him. Sayoko calls him a hentai (LOL!). And next Shiratori runs into Johnny.. who seems to like him.. her ;) Then he gets surrounded by Momono on one side and Tamami on the other... he'll be "out" as a man if they make him wear that. So he runs away outside. Kozue sees him/her running but trips.. uh-oh... and when she gets up Momono and Tamami are there... Momono realizes who she is and screams..
Shiratori ran all the way into town and doesn't know what to do... Shiratori's friend -- the guy who only thinks about girls (you'll see what I mean next time) -- walks down the street, going to return something to Shiratori.. then do this and that with Kozue, of course ;) He doesn't know how to get to his house so he asks the pretty girl over there, Ryuuko-chan.. He's in love~ ;) Shiratori runs away when he sees who it is.. That guy'll still be trying to find that mysterious girl for quite a time after this ;)
When Shiratori arrives back at Narutakisou things are quiet.. too quiet... Momono's dressed up as a police officer.. Asami's dressed up, and Sayoko's gone Neko Mimi Mode and doesn't look too happy.. someone's behind Shiratori. Kozue? No, it's Chiyuri-chan. Something's wrong with how Shiratori's dressed so she's going to fix it!
They go to a room filled with cosplay outfits and accessories. Chiyuri searches around and finds something more fitting for Ryuuko-chan, a meido outfit, and asks him to change into it. He doesn't want to.. but Chiyuri insists since the outfits he's wearning is not correct. It's a problem when people don't wear the correct outfit, you know ;) So he's got to wear the meido outfit! But he won't.. Chiyuri notices he's using "boku" ("I", only guys use it), even though he's a cute girl.. but.. that's CORRECT!! The fusion of two contradicting elements.. but putting that side, he's got to put the meido outfit on ;) He runs away..
And falls into a trap door.. that Tamami set. She takes a few pictures.. her and Chiyuri are in it together. Why not, works for both of them -- Chiyuri gets to dress people up and Tamami gets embarassing pictures to use if she needs ;) Chiyuri goes to make Shiratori change, but then notices Asami moving.. what she's wearing is not correct. So she changes her into a chinese outfit. CORRECT!! Chiyuri then goes over to Neko Mimi Mode Sayoko.. not correct... bunny Sayoko is CORRECT!! Momono's not around... she's hiding, trying to avoid Tamami's traps.. but she didn't know Tamami had a laser system set up so she'd know where people are ;) Chiyuri changes Momono into a nun.. now the three of them are CORRECT!! Johnny comes up but Chiyuri doesn't really care about him.. he's correct. So is Tamami... So getting back to Shiratori and the maid costume..
Shiratori changes by himself.. Tamami and Chiyuri peek in but he shuts them out. And he comes out a maid.. but something's still lacking.. Tamami brings out Momono's 勝負下着.. yes, that's it! That's CORRECT!! Shiratori tries to get away but Tamami quickly grabs him... Chiyuri goes to change him. It's okay since they're both girls.. but Shiratori screams out that he's a guy and takes off the wig.. Chiyuri can't handle it.. how could such a cute girl be a guy? She faints..
Shiratori gets no sleep as usual and gets up the next day.. Tamami has a little something for him. She took a few commemorative pictures of Ryuuko-chan, of course ;) Regular Kozue walks up and notices it's that girl she saw. Tamami's got plenty more of 'em for everyone ;)
Hilarious stuff this time. Shiratori makes a good girl, doesn't he? ;) Tamami and Chiyuri are a natural team, too. Plenty of Tamami this time for the rabid fans ;) But that still doesn't make me like Chiyuri that much :P She is the least liked personality of Kozue among the Mahoraba readers out there, definitely. Same for me. I'd much rather see Natsume.. how long is it going to be until they introduce her?
Anyways, lots of fun this time, actually turning out a bit better than the manga chapters this episode is based on, maybe. Next time, Shiratori's friends from school come to visit to draw a few pictures ;)
But is there sufficient Tamami???? :D

was a pretty funny episode, esp loved the various cosplays (Sayoko was hilarious). What I didn't like was Chiyuri's voice... Satomi Arai must be putting the limit on varying her voice. It was like a combination of the other 3 girls combined!
Will we not see Ryuuko-chan again? Shiratori is cute, really cute.
Just watched it and Tamami and Chiyuri's engrish was downright creepy lol. Funny stuff though. :)
Is there like a cross dressing holiday coming up in Japan? All of a sudden all the wimpy boys of anime are being forced to dress up as girls. Is this some kind of comemoration like how Valentines day shows have something about giving chocolates to your lover, etc.?
Matthew, I have a question about one line in your summary. :) In this sentence: "Tamami turns around snaps a picture, saying she usually wears that kind of underwear ;)" is Tamami saying Momono is the one who wears them normally or Tamami does herself? Yeah, silly I know, but I'm curious. :) I'm also curious as to what exactly fighting underwear are supposed to be. ^_-
Boy Shiratori sure handles running in a dress rather easily, maybe he's got a secret we don't know about. ^_-

Tamami is saying Megumi is the one that usually wears that kind of underwear. Think of it as saying a caption for a picture out loud.
"Shoubu shitagi" is an alternate way to say "tokubetsu no shitagi," basically meaning "special underwear." It can be used to describe the underwear an individual woman primarily wears, or the underwear a woman wears for special occasions (date, honeymoon, anniversary, etc).
What a coincidence that Girls Bravo 2nd season and Mahoraba eps this week both involved the main male character being dressed up as a girl. Another coincidence shows that both supporting males, (Fukayama and the other guy who is obesessed with girls in Mahoraba), falls in love with the guy who is dressed as a girl. Although both were good eps, I have to give the nod to Girls Bravo 2nd season. I hope Girls Bravo 2nd season ends up having good eps like that one...lately, it's been falling apart =(. However, next week's ep looks promising. Mahoraba is still going on strong :P
i'm getting behind on watching stuff recently....
well, some parts are already pointed out by ppl, like the "Guy in a Drag" week, wonder if any other anime will join in,lol. well, IMO, on cuteness, Ryuko > Yukina, but Yukina still wins overall(the voice) and also, partly because of Fukuyama's priceless reaction.
anyways, was a fun episode of Mahoraba, although mostly only to introduce Chiyuri-chan. she isn't that bad, but then she's the least appealing among all the personalities. she defines "Cosplayed" at the least though, LOL. i would've really wanted to see Tamami getting a dose of that too, but well, bleh :P.
