Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime 3

Forgot to mention this earlier, but you can go to the Futago Hime website to learn more about the Flame Kingdom and its inhabitants :)

Found this scan from a magazine on a Japanese blog. Has all the princesses, and an explanation of the "Princess Levels" on there as well ;)

リオーネちゃんの再登場キタ---!!
Leonne-chan's back!

Had to go an episode without seeing Princess Leonne-chan in Futago Hime, but she's back again this time :)

After once again avoiding Camelot's (who seems to have a hip problem) lessons Fine and Rain return to the Flame Kingdom by telepumotion ;) There they finally go the castle like they were supposed to do in the first place and meet the king and queen, and Leonne-chan's brother, Prince Tio, whose voice is instantly recognizable...

ハイジキタ---!!
It's Haiji!!

Prince Tio is voiced by none other than Yamazaki Vanilla, who voiced Haiji in Tsukuyomi ;) Both Tio and King Wohl are pretty fired up (sorry, I had to say it), but Leonne-chan seems to have her mind on other things, looking outside at a mountain nearby with smoke coming out the top...

Leonne explains the situation to Fine and Rain as they sit outside.. It was cold before the smoke started coming out, but with all that smoke covering the sky it's making the cold worse, and the problem with the Sun's Blessing in the Sun Kingdom just makes it even moreso. If the people of the Flame Kingdom don't get used to this cold then... they have to do something about it.

リオーネちゃんはなんて立派なプリンセスだ!
Leonne-chan's such a wonderful princess!

I'm with Pumo on that. If only those two most un-princess-like princesses in the history of the Fushigiboshi could be like Leonne-chan ;) Leonne-chan hasn't seen Pumo before so she doesn't know what he is... Fine says he's their pet to cover. Leonne-chan says she wants a cute pet like Pumo, embarassing him a bit.

But then, it starts snowing. In the Flame Kingdom!? Leonne-chan's never seen snow before.. it's gotten even colder than before.

寒いのいやいやいや~~~ん、いやいや~~ん
Samui no iyaiyaiyaaaaan, iyaiyaaaan

And the iya-iya dance returns once again this week. Are Fine and Rain going to do it every week then? Too bad we didn't get to see Leonne-chan do it with them... Fine and Rain make a snowman as the snow piles up and invite Leonne-chan to join them, but they see King Wohl and Prince Tio, along with some Bear-Bear troops headed towards the mountain to fight this Bo Dragon, which lives in Bo Mountain. Leonne says he's the one spitting out the smoke that's coming out of the mountain. Fine and Rain immediately jump to a conclusion that it's the dragon making the people of the kingdom suffer through the cold, and run off before Leonne can stop them.. the snow turns into a blizzard as they run towards Bo Mountain.

Fine and Rain (Fine in back, being a scaredy-cat as usual) go inside the mountain, which is so filled with smoke that they can't see. Fine steps on something... the tail of the very big Bo Dragon, which is coughing out smoke and stomping around, scaring the crap out of Pumo and Fine, but Rain's got an idea. She uses the power of the Prominence by herself, like Fine did last time, to stop the dragon, (Added while watching Goldfish Warning 1: saying "Daruma-san ga koronda", the name of a children's game where you have to freeze after the person who's "it" is finished saying that. Now it makes sense). But it only works for a bit, and wears off before they can escape...

Leonne looks at the blizzard going on outside from the confines of the castle. She seems to know exactly what's wrong with Bo Dragon, and drives -- isn't she a bit young to be able to drive? -- off towards the mountain. Back at the mountain, Fine thinks of using the Prominence to get rid of the dragon, but Rain stops her, saying to think of a more peaceful means of doing so. Like a knight coming to get rid of it ;) King Wohl and Prince Tio are there, along with the Bear-Bear troops so maybe they can do something... but Prince Tio is completely useless, and the dance to calm Bo Dragon doesn't work either, so what can they do to stop the smoke?.. Make a big snowball to plug up the crater ;)

So, with things taken care of Fine and Rain head to the nearby hot springs to relax. No, no hot springs scenes here, it ain't that kinda show ;) Before they get there they spot Leonne's car, which has gotten stuck in the snow.. she's gotten pretty cold from sitting out there.. She tells them that Bo Dragon's spitting out so much smoke because it's got a cold. She was able to find that out by using the Flame Dragon's Stone in the castle, that lets her know what Bo Dragon's feeling, and also converts the light from the Sun Kingdom into the flames of the Flame Kingdom, a very important thing. And, in fact, it came from Bo Dragon. So that's what that mysterious Bishounen, Eclipse, was talking about last time...

Bo Dragon blows the big snowball that was plugging the crater up away, and Fine and Rain come up with a way to fix the problem -- warm him up with some water from the hot springs. So after the transformation, they use the Prominence to make a giant vaccum to suck the water from the hot springs and fill up the crater at Bo Mountain with it. But... aren't you not supposed to have baths when you have a cold? Uh-oh, they screwed up yet again... but, luckily, the water from the hot spring is useful for curing various maladies, so Bo Dragon's cold is cured and the smoke that was clouding the sky disperses. But unknown to Fine, Rain and the rest, Eclipse saw everything from the hot springs. If only he had that power, then...

Fine and Rain day goodbye to Leonne and leave the Flame Kingdom, returning to the Sun Kingdom. Pumo checks to see if they've gotten any more experience points today, and they did, but still not enough to gain a level. Exactly when do they level up? When it's full? ;) And Fine and Rain were nice enough to bring back something from the Flame Kingdom hot springs for Camelot to help her hip condition a bit. Though they'll still avoid having to study with her next time, I'm betting ;)

Wow, this turned into a long summary + thoughts + some big red text, didn't it? So long as there aren't any subs for Futago Hime I think I'll continue blogging it like this... though even if there were I'd still probably do this every week since I enjoy the show so much.

リオーネちゃん萌え可愛いよ、リオーネちゃん!!(≧∇≦)
Leonne-chan is moe cute, Leonne-chan!!

Leonne-chan was great once again this time.. she should be the main character. And whoever came up with her personality and design (especially the ears) should get a raise ;) Well, hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see her again :)

As for Eclipse, the mysterious bishounen. What could he want to do with the power of the Prominence? Still don't know too much about him or what his goals are... I've seen speculation that perhaps Fine will come to fall for him.. though I dunno about Fine falling for anyone so long as she has that monstrous appetite ;)

Next time, seems we'll be staying in the Sun Kingdom, with Fine and Rain helping out one of those cat-like creatures. Should be fun as usual, hopefully :) I wonder when they'll visit one of the other kingdoms, though...

If Leonne-chan were the main character, I'd seriously consider blogging the series ^_^ There are not enough syllables in 'kawaii' to express her kawaii-ness.

Btw, for those who didn't know, Aikousha has announced they'll be subbing this series. They don't claim to be the quickest group around though, so those waiting for subs might want to be patient :)

Okay..just read the information on Princess Levels. If I read it right, they level up after having used the Promenence for a while. But..it doesn't matter what they use it for? So maybe they just have to use it to help old ladies across the rainbow a few dozen times or something. Why go to far-off (and potentially dangerous!) countries?

Unless they have princesses like Leonne-chan...

Ahem.

Anyway, reading the ranks, the highest is 'Eternal Solar Princess', the second rank is 'Kira-kira (Shiny) Princess', the third is 'Chika-chika Princess', and I can't tell what the bottom one is (the one they're at presently). Shobotto? Shohotto?

(I think they should have a 'Iya-Iya! Princess' level ^_^.)

That level-up sequence (what I can see of it) looks like the Clow sigil a bit..

Okay, I *really* need to stop overanalyzing these kids' shows. I'm going to bald prematurely at this rate.

It's "Shobotto Princess" ;)

Satoshi, since you like Leonne-chan so much you could at least write something about the episodes she's in, right?... without overanalyzing ;)

Leonne-chan is definitely utterly kawaii. ^_^ I really like this show, it's cute, fun and funny. :)

Satoshi: Maybe you'll just go grey like me instead. :P

Something interesting I noticed... The dress designs of the princesses (except for Rein and Fain apparently) show what kingdom they're from. Leonne's has little flame designs along the bottom. The long-eared girl on the right has waves, she must be from the water kingdom. The blond appears to have diamonds along hers, so perhaps the gem kingdom? (That'd go with the rings and the insanely huge gem on her head too.) I can't really make out the design on the tall one on the left, but the little one there looks like she'd be from the star kingdom (she has a star around her neck) and the multiple small ones along the top right would be plant kingdom.

Can someone who can read Japanese see if I'm right? ^_^
