Gakuen Alice 22

Mikan meets the guy she heard about from Tsubasa-senpai, the one who made Mr. Bear (cue the Rocky music!), Kaname. His alice is one which allows him to imbue the stuffed animals he makes with a spirit, to make them come alive. He's very popular with the high school girls since he makes those stuffed animals for them ;) But using that alice comes at the price of shortening his own life, and once Mikan hears that she wants to stop him... but she comes to understand that Kaname wants to keep on doing it to make others happy, even if it comes at that cost. And then she thinks about Natsume. Could he be the same?..
A well done, kinda touching episode this time :) But the next episode preview made me uneasy. Yet another anime original story with only a few episodes left? But, can't judge before seeing where they take us these last few episodes... I'm assuming they'll stop it at a particular story, but we'll see how it wraps up.

This show's length was extended as I recall.
I haven't heard of anything like that.. still listed as 26 episodes total on MOON PHASE and Hatena Diary.. and "Zettai Shounen" is taking its place next month, so..
Once again, you delivered before Garten does. He's in Japan right now so expect something live and raw from him. But because he's at flight while Gakuen Alice is on, he hasn't dished out anything about Gakuen Alice yet.
I'm assuming he is thinking of the correct show and the same one we are watching. With the material and what they can do with it; would be kind of silly not to run it to 50+ unless of course the ratings are bad.

"Actually, it is not at all uncommon if a 26-episode series has strong figures or good buzz for the production company to extend the run. This recently happened, for example, for alice Academy - which was extended from 26 to 52.

Ah, okay. I haven't heard a thing about that on any Japanese sites (or anywhere else) so it's a bit of a surprise, but that's good to hear if that's the case :)
