Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime 7

Fine and Rain finally make their way back to the castle and ask Moon Maria if they can stay in the Moon Kingdom for a bit longer. She okays it and...

...and so Fine and Rain do the "arigatou" ("thank you") dance. But Moon Maria pretty much ignores them while she asks the chancellor about Prince Shade's whereabouts. He's still not back. Moon Maria thinks he might be at the Spring of Stars. Spring of Stars? It's a big star-shaped hole in the middle of the desert where you can see the space outside the Mysterious Planet. And, supposedly, find out various things about the future.. including love prospects. Fine and Rain want to visit, so they'll head there tomorrow. Meanwhile, back at the Sun Kingdom, Pumo recharges the Sunny Luce while keeping Camelot from suspecting anything..
The next day Fine and Rain head out on one of the Moon Kingdom's yachts without Pumo, since he overslept. As usual, things don't go smoothly, as Fine breaks something and they end up crashing into and destroying a tower that the Rabi-rabis (think Rabbit) were keeping watch over the Spring of Stars from. Fine and Rain say they're the princesses of the Sun Kingdom, but no one believes them. After Rain notes how cute it is that they add "rabi-rabi" onto the end of their sentences they've had enough and send Fine and Rain away to do manual labor for 3 years. Meanwhile... Pumo searches for Fine and Rain at the castle, but runs into Princess Milky instead.. she somehow tells him that Fine and Rain headed to the Spring of Stars, so he heads out that way as well.
Fine and Rain dig and dig while waiting for Pumo to come with their Sunny Luces. Pumo is too busy being chased by a horde of those piranha plants that Rain encounted last time, however. Fine and Rain meet a nice rabi-rabi called Niya that gives them water and explains why they're all digging. The water at the oasis is going down since it hasn't rained at all recently, so they're searching for another source of underground water. Suddenly, those scorpions show up so they have to beat them all down...

After things calm down Fine and Rain get to work digging as hard as they can, chanting while they do so. But someone's watching.. Eclipse notices that they don't have their Sunny Luces with them, and grabs Rain, asking where hers is. She says it doesn't have anything to do with him, and he lets go. Fine thanks him for rescuing her from the scorpion the other day and asks if he'd help them out. He says it's impossible and walks off...
Suddenly (again), the ground shakes and a giant scorpion (the queen of the bunch, I guess) comes out of the ground. What will they do? Thankfully, Pumo comes to the rescue and they transform and use the power of the Prominence and... the results aren't as direct as last time. Musical instruments fall from the sky.. Rain picks up a trumpet and blows as hard as she can into it. Seems the big scorpion doesn't like loud noises (does anybody like obnoxious trumpet players?), so everybody grabs and instrument and drives it away. When it digs back into the ground a fountain of water erupts. They're saved! Eclipse watched the whole thing from afar as usual... He has to have that power...
With things taken care of Fine and Rain finally do what they came there to do. Rain, seeing what her fate with Prince Bright is, says his name three times then looks into the spring...

Pumo kindly points out that since absolutely nothing happened Rain has no hopes for the future.
プーモひでえぇぇeee!
Pumo, that was mean!
He deserves the neck-wringing he gets from Rain for that comment ;)
Fine doesn't have any interest in finding out her prospects for love... or does she? Eclipse comes into her mind.... Back in the Jewel Kingdom, Prince Bright wonders where Fine is and what she's doing...
Back at the Sun Kingdom, this time's EXP check comes and Fine and Rain pass as usual. Toluse and Elza come in... Fine and Rain think they're going to be punished for going off to the Moon Kingdom without telling their parents, but... Toluse and Elza know what they're doing and fully support them :)
Meanwhile, back in the Moon Kingdom, Prince Shade is finally back at the castle. Moon Maria tells him that the princesses of the Sun Kingdom were there, but Shade says he has no interest in the princesses of the other kingdoms....
So.. many flags went up this time, making our relationship chart look something like this:
Rain -> Prince Bright -> Fine -> Eclipse (Prince Shade) -> ?
Things just got a bit complicated, didn't they? Hopefully this won't lead to a Futakoi-style shouting match between Fine and Rain (^^;;). You've gotta feel sorry for Rain... why does Prince Bright like Fine even though it's obvious that Rain likes him more than Fine ever would? And Fine... what's so good about Eclipse!? We'll see about that, though. I'll be waiting for the day love trumps appetite for her ;)
Next time, we're off to the Jewel Kingdom to see Altessa, it seems. I want to go to the Water Drop Kingdom and see Miruro, though ;)
btw, I plan on subbing the next episode of Futago Hime in the next couple of days before I get myself occupied with keeping up with e3 (I'm a big Nintendo fan)

Thank you so much for doing these reviews-especially for the fansub! ^.^ I really like this series (although it sometimes overwhelmes me with its cuteness). I really wonder how the story will go (given that it has been planned for 52 episodes).

Holy junk, I was watching this and then a whole love-love-drama-drama thing popped into my head. The possibilities! The possibilities of the possibilities occuring! And the fact that it's a children's show! _What will happen!?_
I guess I'll find out 20 more episodes later >_>.

Wow, the series is always full of moving story flags, could kids really follow through all that?
