Friday Notes...

Getting caught up here bit by bit. Be patient, I'll get to Futakoi Alternative 6 eventually ;) Before that... if I don't find something to make to eat around here I'm going to be doing my best Fine impression before long :P

Anyways... news items.

18 Year Old Girl Confined For 3 Months, Restrained By collar, Chains "Call me master"

Speaking of extremely awful timing with Thursday's episode of He Is My Master, we have a guy here who thought he could be Yoshitaka in real life. Kobayashi Yasuyoshi (24), unemployed, was arrested by police on the 11th, suspected of confining, torturing, and sexually assaulting a girl (18 at the time) for three months in an apartment in Tokyo last year. He had previously been convicted of a similar crime and sentenced to three years prison, with that suspended to 5 years probation which he was serving at the time of this incident. He had been married and divorced 4 times, and those who he had been married to reported the same kind of abuse. Police confiscated more than 1000 adult PC game CD-ROMS, sailor uniforms and other cosplay items, and also adult manga from his house in Sapporo. Creeps like this guy just have to keep on giving otaku a bad name...

Quickie Google Search Lays Out "Brothels"

Do a search on your city + "brothel" (without quotes) on Google Maps to see if there are any near you. There's only one around here, Tasty World, in downtown Athens ;) It's actually only hitting on "brothel" on the web pages those locations are linked to... but they should probably fix that, shouldn't they? ;)

The XBox 360 Revealed

So Microsoft finally took the wraps off of the worst kept secret in the world now, Xenon, now dubbed the Xbox 360. I can only think they took that name since XBox 2 would sound less than PlayStation 3, so XBox 360 is greater than PlayStation 3, right? :P Anyways, hardware specs are quite impressive, though you'll need an HDTV to really appreciate it. As of now, the only announced games I have an interest in are those which are in development by Hironobu Sakaguchi's new company, Mistwalker, called Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Perfect Dark Zero or Halo 3 or whatnot doesn't interest me all that much. I'm not a big fan of FPSs and the like :P And the unveiling program on MTV last night was awful :P

Nintendo Revolution Details

Nintendo finally let a few details out about their next-gen system, codenamed Revolution. It will utilize standard dual-layer (DVD9) DVDs, have wireless controllers (not a surprise since their Wavebird wireless controller for the Gamecube is excellent), and will be about the height of 3 DVD boxes stacked on top on each other, and not that much wider. As previously known, wi-fi will be built-in. With details like that out I would expect, or would at least hope, to be hearing much more at Nintendo's press conference on Tuesday (except about the "Revolutionary" aspect of Revolution, perhaps), contrary to the rumors recently that Nintendo would keep Revolution mostly under wraps. Speaking of online, Squeenix's president, Youichi Wada, seems to be supportive of Nintendo's online plans so that's a good sign for those wanting to see more online games on Nintendo systems. However, as I said before, I don't have much interest in online gaming, and if I did play online, I'd only play against friends. Of course, all of y'all who visit the site would be among those ;) We should hear the details on the DS online service and games at Nintendo's press conference on Tuesday. I can't wait! <-- Is a very biased Nintendo fan ;)

And then there was a creep (a Bay Area resident, mind you), who was watching anime while his child died in his car.

I never did like Gainax. And I don't know if it's "art imitating life" or vice versa. But when the creators of these types of anime perpetuate a certain society; they should atleast take some responsibility when somebody gets hurt because of this.

Or is anime now the new world that's the same as what rap music created?
