Episode 2 will be released when and if I can get it done, so we shall see. My character and heart will hopefully roughly cover for my sometimes lacking knowledge of Japanese ;)
3:43PM - Looks like things are moving along slowly but steadily. Thanks for being patient :) I forgot to mention something earlier. The raw I used for episode 1 is a non-standard size 640x448, but the other raws I have are the usual 640x480, in case anybody was wondering about it.

Future releases will be dependant on how much interest there is out there and whether or not my Japanese will hold up well enough for me to bring all of you a quality release. If you need a proofreader for future episodes, I can do it. As long as you supply raws, that is (or direct me to where I can get older episodes, since l33t-raws torrents will probably be dead). I am not watching Futago Hime currently, since I am watching too much else right now.

Heh, I've been a bit curious about this series, mostly as a result of reading your blogs on it. It sounds quite strange (what's with all those weird dances?) but cute nonetheless. Kudos to your initiative in subbing it when no one else would!
Thanks for this release, but don't overwork yourself. I'm always happy if someone picks up sweet and comedic shoujo, there aren't that many subbing teams out there who do. Will wait patiently for any more episodes, but don't worry if you shouldn't find the time anymore, a glimpse to make me decide whether I want to buy it at some point is enough.

i noticed u named the series "Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime", but wouldnt it be "FushigiHOSHI no Futago Hime", instead?
Yes, you're right, 星 is read as ほし "hoshi" normally, but since it's put together with ふしぎ "fushigi" in the title (there's no "na" or "no" between "fushigi" and "hoshi" like there usually would be) the "ho" sound changes to "bo". Something like that ;)
I started watching Fushigiboshi raw since you and Momotato gave it the thumbs up and I'm faring pretty well with my slighty-better-than-3kyuu-but-still-far-from-2kyuu-Japanese. The Japanese is pretty consistent, so it's the only thing I watch raw because I know what level of trouble to expect.
I just saw this on Anime-suki and "Whoa, Matthew's subbing it!" Well, alone, you're probably not going to get very far, but good luck with this little project. I suppose I should actually download it to see what you've done, I mean, it'd be pretty silly to see "Fan fan Fain" and all that other weird magical girl talk on the screen :P So I'll be dropping input later!
I'm sure to help seed this! Good job! Groups should drop Tsubasa and sub this instead.

The English you used is perfect, no problems with the timing or anything, and I laughed a bit at the translation of the opening :P
The only qualm I have is with the font styles, it doesn't feel so aesthetically appealing... Both the colors used and the font itself doesn't really "fit" for me. But other than that, bacchiri! :D
Does this mean that if we vote for the animation that we want, you can help us translate the raw ?
Goodness gracious I just finished watching this and I think I have a few more cavities. Too cute, to say the least, with no shortage of the aforementioned "weird magical girl talk". Very amusing indeed, though for some reason I wasn't as taken with Princess Leonne as most people seem to be.
Hmm, favorite princesses eh? I guess mine would have to be the most unprincess-like duo, Rain and Fain, simply because they are zany balls of nonsensical energy. That weird little "No" dance was so off-the-wall!

I'd encourage you to look over at the AnimeSuki forum thread on this - I would offer to help out (being a jack-of-all-trades for everything except translation), but I'm not sure if my schedule permits it at the moment. However, I -am- taking my last final of the semester today, so I might be able to help out on the short term before my summer classes start. ^^; Shoot me an email or track me down on IRC if you're interested...
I liked the first ep, thanks for taking the time to sub this. As many groups as there are out there, there are still series like this that fall through the cracks, and it's a pity since they're the ones that are less likely to get an R1 DVD release (as opposed to Tsubasa). Thanks again for taking the time to do this, I'm glad I get chance to enjoy at least a little of this series that way.

Favorites would be Fine ^-^ she is so cute and I love pink hair anime girls LOL. I like Eclipse too. I also like Leona ^-^ (I'm a huge Jungle Taitei Leo / Kimba fan / lion fan). I don't know much of the other ones so far tho.
