Futakoi Alternative 11

Even the army's missles can't stop the squid, as Rentarou continues to chase after it. The squid thinks things have finally gotten interesting, so he gives Rentarou a challenge: if Rentarou passes him, the squid will eat peanuts though his nose ;) The squid unloads a shower of ink on Rentarou, and he crashes... but he gets up and walks on. Nothing's going to stop him. His old biker gang buddies show up, and they ride in chase of the squid. Rentarou has a brief moment of reflection while riding -- he hated who he was then, and he hated running away from who he was. But there is a Rentarou that Rentarou can like -- he likes who he is when he's together with Sara and Souju, the three of them together. As he hears Sara and Souju's voices, Rentarou overtakes the squid...

...and when he wakes up he's in the hospital with Souju by his side. The squid apparently ran away from the scene, losing the fight and now eating peanuts through his nose somewhere if he kept up his end of the wager ;) Shimojima comes to visit Rentarou (everybody's favorite perverted yellow ball, Onsokumaru, makes a brief cameo as Shimojima goes up the escalator), and as they walk outside he repeats what we heard at the beginning of this episode. It seems the Wadatsumi Group has been working behind the scenes in some unknown way now -- it seems that there actually wasn't a will or anything, but Kimihiko believes that to be the case, so now he's off to a certain country to marry Sara. Why's Shimojima telling him this? Shimojima didn't want to be who he is now, he wanted to be a baseball player, but he realized his dream wouldn't come true. But now, it seems he's been inspired by someone to put forth his effort towards that dream again...

Rentarou and Sara stand in front of the Sakurazuki compound, with their friends all there in support of them going to get Sara back. And guess who else is there? Yup, the squid isn't quite done yet. But his time on stage is going to be over -- Rentarou pulls out a metal bat that Shimojima gave to him. Switch scenes to Shimojima watching a baseball game -- "Knock it outta the park, nidaime". Lulu and Lala get their cameo here standing on a high place and saying "It's about time". Rentarou and Souju take off and are off to get Sara back... off to Germany?

Can that plane make it that far? (^^;;) We'll see about that ;)

It seems the story threads are all starting to come together now -- the squid was developed by the Wadatsumi Group that's still involved in things today (and that we now realize probably owned the transport on which Lulu and Lala fought the squid in episode 1), one that's somehow involved with the Mitsugi group, so also involved in the "redevelopment" of Nikotama, and somehow also pulling the strings that got Kimihiko to believe that Sara/Souju's father's will dictated that he had to choose one or the other and get married... I think ;)

Putting aside the story for now, wow, they were right when they said this episode was going to move and have about as much tension as episode 1. Especially the Dirty Harry vs. Squid scene. Can't wait to see what's in store next time as Rentarou and Souju go to rescue Sara. And it would be nice to perhaps see some of the other sets of twins in action again, particularly Lulu/Lala or Kira/Yura ;)
