Kamichu! 11

After doing all her duties as a god for New Year's Yurie is tired. Really tired. So tired and so lazy she won't move from the kotatsu (table with a heater underneath) for this entire episode. Yurie gets Tama/Binbougami to bring her food after she wakes up, and when Tama/Binbougami heads back to the kitchen, thinking no one else is home... Yurie's brother spots her walking. Ooops, the (walking) cat's out of the bag :P Yurie tells him that Miko gave her a mikuji (fortune) to give to him, and since Shou-chan has something for Miko he's very interested in seeing it... but she kinda left it in her clothes (^^;;) After that Yurie wants to watch TV... but she's too lazy to go over and turn it on, so she uses a rolled up newspaper to switch it on. But it's on the wrong channel... no problem, one Ka-mi-chu and it's on what she wants.
Her parents finally get home as Yurie's on the phone. She remembers that her parents haven't given her her お年玉 otoshidama -- a gift of money parents give to children on New Year's -- so she tackles her dad and asks for it. He'll give it to her later... She then starts going through all the 年賀状nengajou (New Year's cards) she's gotten from friends -- however, one is missing. Kenji's... Yurie's rather depressed as she talks to Matsuri on the phone... After talking with Matsuri, Yurie takes a look at her otoshidama. 5000 yen -- not too bad, in fact, a record... but after Tama/Binbougami touches it, Binbougami powers go into action (not on purpose), and she's left with 1000 yen (^^;;)
After snoozing a bit, Yurie (still under the kotatsu) wakes up when Shou-chan comes back home. He picked a mikuji from the shrine, but unlike most his only showed a bit of good luck. 小吉 Shoukichi for Shoukichi, as Yurie points out. He's also got another nengajou that wasn't delivered to the right house since it was unreadable. It's Kenji's, and as expected it's quite out there (^^;;) She's happy so she does a favor for Shou-chan, crossing out 小 shou (little) and writing in 超 chou (super) to make it super lucky -- the fortune changes accordingly because of her powers. When their parents get home their mother tells Shou-chan that the mikuji Miko gave to Yurie is in the freezer... Shou-chan shouldn't have looked at it -- 大凶 daikyou, terrible luck (^^;;)
As Yurie writes replies to all those who sent her nengajou InoShikaChou arrive in the usual fashion, and they come bearing gifts. A torrent of nengajou from all the various gods comes at Yurie and Tama, burying them both. So there's a lot more work for Yurie now (^^;;)
But she still hasn't moved from the kotatsu. And I thought I was lazy (^^;;) I can't compare to that even on my laziest days. I should get one of those kotatsu things, they look pretty comfy ;)
Though we stayed in one place this time it was still fairly entertaining with Yurie showing off her lazyness and the chatting with Shou-chan and such. Though some of the more deformed faces Yurie showed us were not quite on the cute side ;) Since nothing much happened there's nothing much more to say than that. Next time, we "end" -- "end" because the actual end might be on one of the extra DVD-only episodes -- with Valentine's Day. Is Kenji finally going to answer to Yurie's feelings? We'll see. Hoping for much Yurie kawainess to wrap things up.

Such a unique episode. Yurie didn't come out from kotatsu at all. This is one episode in which she made tons of cute faces. Uh. Omega kawaii!!!
I lolled at her not coming out of the kotatsu for the entire episode. XD
