Petopeto-san 10
Petoko (still as police chief for the day) confronts her father, Tonio, about what's he's done, but when Kanna arrives (along with her father) she comes to his defense, saying that he helped her out. Kanna's father won't accept that answer -- she has no idea who this guy is, right? Kanna answers: "I already know him and he's helped me out. And he's my friend's father". She knew her father wouldn't let her go to Tokyo so she went on her own without telling him... Her father then slaps her.. she runs off with her dog and Petoko and Shingo follow her.
When Petoko catches up with Kanna she tells her that she saw her brother in Tokyo. Shingo asks how Tonio got involved in all of this, and she tells him all that Tonio did for her. Kanna's father then shows up to tell her to come home, but then Waga-kun shows up out of nowhere (way to ruin the mood there, man), apparently to do the usual and collect information on what's going on. Kanna tells Petoko that her brother's going out with a youkai. She thought he was being fooled like her father thinks so she went to see if that was the case, to see what kind of person she was. She asks Waga-kun if her brother's happy -- he replies that she already knows the answer. She could tell that he was happy, and Petoko says the same. Tonio shows up, out of handcuffs, and he and Petoko seem to be getting along well, as Kanna says. She'd like for things to be that way in her family... perhaps her father wants to fix things as well.
So with that adventure over the usual crowd is at Shingo's having dinner. Shingo seems to have something on his mind, though... Chochomaru's bodyguards bring in a platter of sushi. Petoko has no idea what it is -- she thinks sushi is something different. Turns out what her mother called onigiri sushi (^^;;) More kawaii Kuguru here as well :) Petoko's mother mentions that perhaps it's time for them to move out somewhere and stop being a burden on Shingo's family.. Shingo doesn't say a thing... Chochomaru then rolls out her next big plan, a theme park called いもうてん imouten, short for 妹天国 imouto tengoku, "Little Sister Heaven"............. no comment (^^;;;;) Chochomaru wants Petoko to be her star of the plan. Petoko's parents are thrilled at the chance that Petoko could become famous... Shingo, meanwhile, senses that Petoko is getting farther away from him...
C'mon, Shingo, do something about it if you like her!... is what I would say to him. But being very much single for my entire life I don't really have the right to say so :P Anyways... Chochomaru... dang. What is that girl gonna think up next? Whatever it is, it's sure to attract all the 妹属性 types (^^;;) Considering things, she probably would make a good bit of money off of it.. ahem..

Kanna-chan kawaii yo Kanna-chan!!
So I've come from not particularly liking Kanna-chan to rather liking her as she's changed from snotty youkai-hating brat to a more gentle Kanna-chan in these last few episodes -- all thanks to Petoko's influence. Kanna let that word slip out when speaking about Petoko -- "friend" -- and that says everything about how she changed. And it seems her father might change with her and stop being a バカ親 :P
Seems like we'll get a sampling of Chochomaru's imouten project next time. Which means we'll get to see Yuu-chan and Konuri-chan, among other things :)
I can't say I like Kanna any more, myself. I mean, I guess she's not worth hating, but that's not enough to bring her up to the level of Petoko's adorableness. Or Nurie (yay Nurie, poor ignored Nurie).
One thing I find interesting is Petoko's various youkai abilities being shown here and there. It's sort of the opposite of how this would be handled in a lot of these types of stories.
Instead of going, "Oh, this person is so different! Oh, it looks like they're not so different after all." it takes the route that they seem normal at first, but the more you get to know her the more likable she is, but also the more you are reminded that she ISN'T entirely human. An interesting take on the whole thing.
