Wednesday Notes (Early Edition)

I'm finally caught up... well, kinda since I've got Kamichu! to do, but that's for the 3 hours where I have NOTHING to do at school between Japanese and Wind Symphony today. Anyways, to get to what I've been meaning to write the past few days...

Saturday night I met up with my "anime club" (me + 3 others) people again. We watched the following:

Rozen Maiden 5-6
Kaleido Star 13-14
AIR 4
Ichigo Mashimaro 1 - Somewhat surprisingly, given how adverse this group seems to be towards cute stuff, they liked it. Though there was a snide comment about yuri implications from someone (it wasn't me) :P
Kamichu! 1 - They couldn't quite believe that Yurie had become a god :)

So maybe, just maybe we'll finish Rozen Maiden here soon. Maybe

And besides that group, I've now got another group that I'm watching stuff with now. Two classmates from Japanese, to be exact. I've gotten them hooked on Zettai Shounen. We watched the first three episodes last week and they seemed to really like it. They found all the "interesting" camera angles and shots very amusing :) And finally, finally, I've got some people to watch Futago Hime with! The plan seems to be that we'll come back over here after Japanese ends Friday (at 11am) and watch stuff, so we'll see what else we end up watching. Going to have to keep track of what this group and the other are watching so I don't get mixed up or forget (^^;)

I am planning -- at least for now -- for the next Audio Update (I need a better name....) to go up within the next week or so. If any of the other bloggers are interested in joining me in discussing what's on now and what's going to be on in a just a few weeks send me an e-mail ASAP (in the next few days) and we'll figure it out. It was suggested I use Gizmo instead of Skype so we'll see how that works. Since I'm not going to be taking live calls on Gizmo (no way to screen, etc.), I would also like to see something in the mailbag, so if you've got a (reasonable) question for me, or comments about what's on now or what shows you're looking forward to, send away. But keep it short and to the point.. unlike how I am most of the time :P

Let's see here, news, news....

A Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha novel will be released on the 27th.. Information about the OP and ED for Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's can be found on the same page. Like the 1st season, Nana Mizuki is singing the OP, "ETERNAL BLAZE" (on sale October 19th), and Yukari Tamura returns to do the ED, "Spiritual Garden" (on sale October 26th). Very much looking forward to hearing both. If they're anything like the 1st season OP/ED I will be a very happy camper :)

Actually, I just remembered something else. To answer the question I'm sure a lot of you have -- no. I have not seen FFVII Advent Children, in fact, I have little interest in seeing it. I believe I've mentioned this before, but I do not worship Final Fantasy VII like a lot of y'all do since it was not my first experience with a Japanese console-style RPG. I go all the way back to the original Final Fantasy on the NES (which reminds me... Happy 20th birthday, Mario! Actually, that was yesterday...), so I am very much old-school. I will stop myself here before I start ranting on the state of Square... well, Squeenix (or is it Taisqueenix or Squeenixto since they acquired Taito for no reason?) and the Final Fantasy series as they are now :P
