ARIA 4

After being out with Alice and Aika as the sun sets (with a hazukashii serifu kinshi! in there, of course) Akari heads off to do some shopping with President Aria after being asked by Alicia. While out, President Aria seems to sense something and runs off and Akari follows. They arrive in a small garden with a tree in it and also a lot of cats. A rather mysterious looking little girl (テラカワイス!) is next to the tree -- she gives Akari a letter and asks her to deliver it, and Akari says she will and does the pinky promise. But the address in the letter isn't anywhere to be found... she asks the mailman for some help the next day. Seems there's a data card in the envelope, a pretty old type of data card that isn't used anymore. While out rowing President Aria once again seems to sense something when the sound of a bell comes, and Akari sees that girl once again. The girl wants to know if her letter's been delivered yet... no, but Akari will do her best to do it. The girl then says that letters cross both time and space to deliver people's feelings, then goes. Her name seems to be Ami...

Back at Aria Company, Akari and President Aria enjoy some ice that Alicia brought back (brain freeze!). The mailman comes back with the results of his investiagation as the sun sets. That address seems to be that of a base that was used when the oceans were being made on Aqua long ago. It's pretty far away, so.... A slyph (the people who deliver things on Aqua), Woody (wait, his name doesn't start with "A"!), comes by to deliver some things and Akari thinks of something... she wants Woody to deliver her ;) The next day she and Woody head off to the island where that base is supposed to be located. Akari rides, standing up, on the back of Woody's scooter, high up in the clouds.

でっかい危ないです!
dekkai abunai desu! (That's big time dangerous!)

One misstep and that's it (^^;;;) After a break along the way -- during the break Akari says she wouldn't mind being a Slyph like Woody, delivering letters -- people's feelings. But Akari's got a good job as well -- as an Undine she helps people make those precious feelings while riding on her gondola. Nicely said, Woody :) After a while they arrive at the island but the base is nowhere to be found.. there's only some grave markers there.. Woody spots something in the ocean -- it's the base. Alicia and President Aria arrive.. Alicia did a bit of research -- that base ended up under the ocean since more water than expected ended up coming out, so.... The grave of the person the letter was addressed to, Allen Honda, is there. Akari plays back the video on the data card in front of it with the reader President Aria has. The video is from Allen's wife, taken in the house with all the windmills. She's worried as could be expected, but wants him to know she loves him even though she can't be with him. During the video, we hear a bell that's attached to a cat. The cat's name seems to be Ami.... Akari cries and remembers the words of Ami earlier.. she delivered the letter as promised...

Akari writes to Ai once again, telling her that she tried to find the place where the windmills were again, but she couldn't. Ai writes back -- Akari earlier said that Neo-Venice was a miracle, so Ai thinks all of Aqua could be the same -- a gentle miracle...

恥ずかしいセリフ禁止!
hazukashii serifu kinshi!

But it's a good embarassing line :) In addition to being relaxing as usual, a bit sad this time. Though I didn't cry there at the end.. really, I didn't... 。゜・(ノД`)・゜・。 A mysterious feel to things this time as well with Ami-chan. Makes quite a cute girl for being a cat :) Glad she got her letter finally delivered... Only thing I could've done without this time is all the President Aria service (◎ω◎) <-- President Aria ;)

Mostly an original episode this time. If this is how the original episodes are going to be I wouldn't mind seeing more of them. Jun'ichi Satou is definitely the man :) Anyways, next time.... Akari and the gang go to the beach. And that means mizugi, of course! But don't tell me we're going to see President Aria in a swimsuit... :P

The SD art in the Aria manga is one of the best parts. The looks are so funny and cute that it's a real blast to see them. :) I was really glad to see them keeping the style for the anime!

This is one sad episode, i actually being touched by the scene where Akari plays the video to the grave.

Aria still remains the best anime for the season to me.
