ARIA 6
We start off with Ai-chan reading her usual e-mail to Akari. This time she tried to make baked potatoes, but they didn't turn out that well so she doesn't want to show them to her parents... Akari, being postive as usual, says that since Ai-chan's feelings were put into them it'll be out :) Aika's out, Akari's out rowing with Alice and President Aria. As they're doing that, another Undine passes by, singing very beautifully... Alice seems to be in a bad mood, though. A dekkai bad mood ;) She thinks her left hand is a bit too useless, so she's started her "Left Hand Punishment Campaign". She pulls at her left hand and President Aria licks it (^^;;;;) But, anyways, Alice is keeping a cat. Only problem is that cats aren't allowed at Orange Planet (the company where she works). They go to Orange Planet and Alice's room, and there in her wardrobe is a itty bitty panda-cat-like thing. That would be Maa-kun, the cat she's keeping. She sets it down next to President Aria. Since Aika's out Alice didn't have a choice but to go to Akari for advice...
Apparently Maa-kun really, really, really likes President Aria's mochimochiponpon. No, it's not what you think it is :P The girl who we heard singing comes in and... dang. She has to be the dojikko to beat all dojikkos (^^;;) Yup, that's Athena. Akari changes into the Orange Planet uniform and goes with Athena and Alice to eat dinner. Seems Athena doesn't know about Maa-kun yet... Athena once again shows us her dojikkoness and Alice practices squeezing ketchup out of the bottle using her left hand (^^;;) As we saw, Athena's a dojikko and generally an airhead, Alice explains. Alice thinks her to be a lot like her left hand, not really useful. Is it okay to say that right in front of Athena? (^^;;)
Back in Alice's room, Athena goes off to take a bath first as Alice feeds Maa-kun. When they go to bed Alice is somehow playing Rock-Paper-Scissors all by herself. Her right hand always wins. She slaps her left hand for losing. Akari and President Aria are pretty surprised (^^;;) In the middle of the night Akari and Alice are woken up by Maa-kun.. maaing. Athena gets up, but walks to the window and starts singing. Alice gets Maa-kun while Athena sings and takes it with her to the bed. Akari then says that Alice's left hand might not be so bad after all.
Alice leaves Maa-kun in the care of Akari and President Aria as she goes off to school. During school, though she uses her right hand all the time she realizes that her left hand is pretty helpful as well, remembering Akari's words. We see a short flashback of when Alice first came to Orange Planet, with Athena being a dojikko as usual ;) When Alice comes back to her room Maa-kun isn't there... she runs around and finds Akari to tell her that Maa-kun's missing. They both search for it but can't find it... maybe Athena found out about Maa-kun and put it out.. two of Alice's coworkers run up to say they were the ones that let Maa-kun get out. Athena actually was trying to help cover up Maa-kun's maaing with her singing.. and speaking of her, she paddles up singing, and Maa-kun comes out of hiding nearby and jumps all over Alice :) Alice had no idea that Athena was doing so much for her... all those times she sung were for her. Well, songs are meant to be heard by someone, of course ;) And she's got some news about Maa-kun... they're really, really pinpoint small, but Maa-kun has blue eyes, so... yup, Maa-kun's going to be the new President of Orange Planet to replace the one that died. Alice realizes that her left hand is pretty darn helpful, so now she'll start her "Left Hand Appreciation Campaign" :)
And we end with Ai-chan saying that her parents ate those baked potatoes she made. Her mom says she's looking forward to the next time she does it, so now she feels a lot better about it. And that brings us to today's lesson: We're always being supported by someone else, even though it might be so noticable :)
And I ended up smiling the whole way through yet again. Such a feel good show, it is :) And we were introduced to yet another quite appealing character this time in Athena. I don't believe I've seen anybody be as much a dojikko as Athena, being able to spill so much water like she did (^^;;) But she's a nice gal just like everybody else in the show. Alice was pretty cute this time, going deformed quite a lot. And saying dekkai this and dekkai that all the time. It's rubbing off on me like hazukashii serifu kinshi! (^^;;) Too bad there wasn't any of that from Aika this time, but... there weren't really as many hazukashii serifu this time as usual. And President Aria.. that thing is getting too much screentime :P Seems Maa-kun's going to be eating his mochimochiponpon yet again next time (^^;;) Looks like it'll be an Akira and Aika ep so I'm looking forward to spending some more wonderful time with Akari and friends :)

Thus far, ARIA has had a strong campaign to be the top show of the Fall. Just a brilliant piece of work~
Seem to me that I've found non loli chara that I like in Aria - Athena!!! Beautiful voice... Such a klutz, but that's so kawaii ^^
I'm looking forward to this episode. My week won't be the same without my weekly diet of "Ara ara" and "hazukashii serifu kinshi!". ARIA rocks.
So, what is a mochimochiponpon?
Alice and Athena FTW. If you've read chapter 39 of the manga, you'll know that Athena isn't that much of a klutz :)
