Sore yuke! Tetsunoshin 3
Rumi-chan and her family watch a famous "trimmer" (a stylist for dogs), Gary Kamata, do his thing on TV. Kaoruko (Rumi-chan's grandmother) suggests to Rumi-chan that she take Tetsunoshin to a trimmer to get him looking all nice and beautiful, then holding a party. Masao is not happy, of course... Rumi-chan takes Tetsunoshin to the local dog shop. It's rather expensive stuff -- 250,000 yen for an outfit, 100,000 yen for the regular shampoo and cut, and 200,000 yen for the special cut. Rumi-chan goes for the special (^^;;) Tetsunoshin doesn't want to have any part of it and runs away. He ends up going to Dog Paradise and tries to cut his hair by himself. Seto-sama suggests he let Hanzou, the "Charisma Trimmer" of the dog world, give him a new look. Tetsunoshin lets out a scream when he looks at himself in the mirror...
At the party Tetsunoshin covers his head to hide his new look. Pochi finds Tetsunoshin ("aniki") and talks to him. Rumi-chan (in a very kawaii dress) sees Aya -- Aya asks Rumi-chan if she's going to enter Tetsunoshin in this upcoming best celeb dog contest. Pochi tells Tetsunoshin that the winner gets a years' supply of dog food. But looking like he is, Tetsunoshin doesn't think he has a chance. The one who'll win is Joe -- the lady from last week and her family arrive. They're the Kuroganes from Shirogane, rivals to the Inuyama family. A bit of smack talk is exchanged... Gary then shows up.. the ladies seem to like him, though Aya doesn't understand why. Seems he's going to be making sure that Joe wins the contest, as the daughter, Reika, explains. Yup, she's your typical ojou-sama type (got the ojou-sama laugh down). Gary goes to work on a very worried Joe, and...
Gary: "I call it... Spring Goddess Rainbow!" (^^;;)
The audience seem to think it wonderful, cute, etc., etc., but Pochi and Tetsunoshin think it's very much uncool (I'd agree with that). A pissed off Joe rips off the cover on Tetsunoshin's head... and we Tetsunoshin's new hairstyle. Easy to see why he wouldn't want it to be seen, but Rumi-chan finds it very cute. The Kuroganes leave the party. Gary seems to take notice of Tetsunoshin on his way out... Reika's father wants Gary to come up with an even better style to beat Tetsunoshin... back at the party, a female dog (held by a very cute girl) barks at Tetsunoshin, seemingly impressed.
The next day, Hana tells Masao and Rumi-chan to take a look at what's on the TV. It's Gary -- and he's come up with that new style, the "animal cut". As the name says, he transforms poor Joe into a lion, then a rabbit (^^;;)
Rumi-chan takes Tetsunoshin to the park. It seems Gary's "animal cut" has really caught on as there are koalas and elephants and tigers all around. Poor dogs.... the freckled girl Rumi-chan saw at the party last night comes up carrying her dog. She's Yuki Yagino@Asuka Tanii and the dog is Chocola.

While Yuki-chan and Rumi-chan go off to play, Tetsunoshin and Chocola talk. Tetsunoshin compliments Chocola's pearl necklace. She got it from Yuki-chan, she says. Tetsunoshin tries to think of the saying that has "pearls" in it... pearls before swine..
...and the nice atmosphere that seemed to be there between the two of them vanishes in an instant (^^;;) Chocola smacks Tetsunoshin halfway across town. He happens to land in a pond, and Gary happens to be standing right next to the pond. As Gary dries Tetsunoshin's hair Rumi-chan comes up. Gary also wants to turn Tetsunoshin into a panda. Tetsunoshin runs away as quickly as he can.
Hanzou, Hakase, and Ivan watch a promotion for the upcoming best celeb dog contest. They've got to do something about the crazy "animal cut".. Seto-sama tells Tetsunoshin to enter the contest. Hanzou comes flying in a crab-shaped robot that's apparently going to style Tetsunoshin at the contest. Hakase gives Hanzou a device that he can use to speak to humans called "Homo sapiens lingual". Shortened, "Homolingual". Gotta love this show's naming (^^;;) Tetsunoshin doesn't really want to do it, but Seto-sama gently suggests he say "Leave it to me!".. or else he'll turn Tetsunoshin into a monkey.
The night of the contest comes, and Rumi-chan and Yuki-chan are there to watch. Gary goes onstage with Joe to show off his latest "animal cut" -- French-style escargo. Joe can't stand it anymore and runs offstage... In the bathroom, Tetsunoshin asks Hanzou if things will really be okay. Sure, Hanzou's the dog world's "charisma trimmer". Well, that's what a drunken Seto-sama calls him (^^;;) Gary comes in, frustrated.. maybe he should've done a camel cut or a porcupine cut. No (^^;;) Tetsunoshin uses the homolingual to speak to Gary. He tells him that he should make a dog look like a dog, then starts to rant a bit. Gary opens the stall to find the crab robot... Hanzou and Tetsunoshin make a getaway and go on stage. Hanzou's ready to get started, but Ivan (who's supposed to be in charge of moving the legs) pulls a lever to start the shampoo. Things get out of control a bit, but Gary comes out to help... well, comes out to turn Tetsunoshin into a panda. Tetsunoshin tries to run away but is caught by the MC... however, Gary seems to have come to his senses now, remembering what Tetsunoshin said to him, and turns Tetsunoshin back into the usual toy poodle he should be. Now Gary's going to go back to bringing out the dogness of dogs instead of turning them into something else :)
Aya, Rumi-chan, and Yuki-chan (along with their dogs) are back in the dog shop in the Hills talking about the contest. Seems Tetsunoshin ended up winning after all. A familiar face comes to meet them -- it's Gary. He plants a kiss on Tetsunoshin's face (calling him "Tetsunoshin-chama"), leaving lipstick behind. He was fired by Kurogane, so now he works he. And it seems this is how he really was before Kurogane turned him into a ladies' man. Makes sense that he wouldn't be involved in any scandalous conduct with women, yup (^^;;) Gary feels he heard Tetsunoshin's voice -- it must be fate! He'll always be by Tetsunoshin-chama's side!
....poor Tetsunoshin (^^;;) Well, he had his chance with Chocola but ruined that one, didn't he? Going to have to work on your pick-up lines a bit ;)
I was laughing pretty much the entire episode since it was all so ridiculous. Perhaps a satire of rich people who actually do take their dogs to dog stylists and dress them in expensive clothes and such?... I thought this was supposed to be a kids' show (^^;;) Anyways, now we've got all the characters that appeared in the eyecatch introduced. Seems Reika will be Rumi-chan's rival... though we'll see if she's more a Greta (from A Little Snow Fairy Sugar) type. Yuki-chan seems a pretty nice girl. Cute freckles :)
Next time, the dogs go fishing or something using their submarine? Wonder if we'll see Celeb Knight show up since he wasn't around this time..
Reika reminds me of Tamaki Reika from Ojamajo Doremi -- spoiled.
And Gary reminds me of Gary from Spongebob for some reason. *cough*
