Kyou no 5 no 2 (Manga)
Now that I was finally able to get to the scanner (nobody here but me.. nice and quiet), a sampling of Koharu Sakuraba's Kyou no 5 no 2 as was promised (a while ago). The manga was serialized in Young Magazine, and there's only one volume of it.
Here's the roster of students in class 2 of grade 5 that we meet. Ryouta (right page, top right) is the main character, and quite the lucky guy as you'll see ;) Chika (right page, top left) is Ryouta's osananajimi (childhood friend) and probably closest to him. Yuuki (right page, bottom right) is pretty talkative, but also a bit naive. Kazumi (right page, bottom left) is your cool and quiet type that never smiles. Natsumi (left page, top right) is the bokukko (girls that use "boku" to refer to themselves), quite good at sports of course. Megumi (left page, top left) would be your traditional meganekko. Tsubasa and Kouji (left page, bottom) are Ryouta's friends.
Each chapter is pretty short, most around 10 pages, most with Ryouta getting involved in some kind of "happening" with one of the girls. In chapter one he happens to get a paper cut and Kazumi sucks his finger a bit.
And in chapter two, Ryouta's friends are looking at some ecchi books and get caught by Yuuki, who says that all guys think about is boobs. But Ryouta says that rather than boobs, he thinks the collarbone is most important. If you've looked at the screenshots of the anime or seen the trailer you've seen that second scene of Yuuki drinking from the water fountain. Ryouta's reactions are usually pretty funny ;)
This time Ryouta ends up having to go with Natsumi to get some stuff from the PE storage house since he lost a game to her. However, they get locked in, and since Natsumi's really scared of the dark she clings to Ryouta... the teacher happens to come in at the worst possible time (^^;;)
And, of course, besides all the other kinds of service there's pantsu, like this time when Chika gets Ryouta to help her try and get a book, but then... yeah.
And there's a quick sampling of Kyou no 5 no 2. I bought it on a whim since it was one of those "People who bought this also bought this" things on Amazon.co.jp. Not quite as funny as something like Ichigo Mashimaro, but there's still a few good laughs to be found, and for those that like it a good bit of "chotto ecchi" service. And hey, the girls in it are pretty cute -- Chika and Yuuki probably being my favorites if I had to pick. Anyways, I'm looking forward to watching the OVA :)

Read it a while back, I like the art style. I like Kazumi in her own creepy way.

Try to search it in manga-jouhou website as "Today in Class 5-2".

Please review more manga, i think its an excellent idea.
If you review some recent new manga series I think that would help me alot- I have trouble finding ones I like :)

I saw this at Waldenbooks at the mall. They had a small section of untranslated stuff and I recognised the 5-2.
