TGIF!
A happy Friday and start of the weekend to all of y'all out there :) For some reason this week I've been really tired after getting home from school so I've been going to sleep rather early... but still feeling rather tired _| ̄|○ Thankfully, last night I actually got some good sleep for once. Anyways, the Narue no Sekai (World of Narue) DVD set that I ordered from RightStuf came in today so I've been watching it. Watched 5 episodes so far.. my thoughts on it, you ask?

成恵かわいいよ成恵!
Narue@Mamiko Noto kawaii yo Narue!
香奈花かわいいよ香奈花!
Kanaka@Junko Minagawa kawaii yo Kanaka!
...and that about sums it up. Stuff like that is important in this kind of show, you know, otherwise it just doesn't work ;) I'm really enjoying it so far. The last episode I watched with Kanaka as one of the main characters was pretty good. Kanaka's one of those bratty types that I seem to have gotten to like recently, but she's a good girl :)
Anyways, news after the jump...
Chokotto Sister Anime
MOON PHASE reports that Sakura Takeuchi's Chokotto Sister, currently serialized in Young Animal, will be made into an anime. Check the cover of the 2nd volume above for a quick summation of what the story's about. I read the first two volumes of the manga a while back (haven't kept up with it) and it was okay, so I guess I'll be looking forward to it :)
4Kids Licenses Pretty Cure
Anime News Network reports that 4Kids announced that it had licensed Pretty Cure at the New York Comic Convention. The series has just started its 3rd year in Japan as Pretty Cure Splash Star. For some reason I really never have been able to get into Pretty Cure, though there are plenty of Futago Hime fans that are also Pretty Cure fans. Just not my kind of mahou shoujo, I guess... Anyways, I imagine it'll get the full 4Kids "treatment" (we know how that goes), but I suppose I'm a wee bit pleased that someone thinks that mahou shoujo can make it over here, unlike a certain other company*cough*ADV*cough*. I could rant more about that, but I'll pass for now ;)

YES. The Narue no Sekai box set is totally awesome. It's worth it for the seiyuu commentary tracks alone.
Also, Mamiko makes that tea kettle noise in real life, too. [spoilers]

I don't know that 4kids really thinks mahou shoujo can make it over here, they make so many changes that it's obvious they don't have any faith in the original. :P
The sad thing is that this is the norm, it seems every since mahou shoujo series brought over to be aired on TV gets butchered: Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors (Card Captor Sakura), Doremi and now Pretty Cure. Sheeze.

To be fair, Pretty Cure doesn't have much of a plot to begin with, so I don't feel the same way about it as I did with, say, CCS.
Chokotto Sister, cool, I sort of check on it now and then...

ooohhh how I am 1/4 blame you Matthew for pushing me over the fence to order World of Narue. XD

I told you that you would like Mamiko no Sekai, I mean Narue's World. Until Shimako (of Marimite), Mamiko Noto was always Narue to me~ ;p
If any of you want one of Mamiko's somewhat earlier, but very well acted roles, look at Narutaru. She voices Akira. If you aren't familiar with it, let's just say that it is a "darker" series, though.

well Doremi pwns Pretty Cure in every way. Pretty Cure isn't that great because the plot is so damned cliche. The main charcters aren't interesting...nothing is.
