Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime 50
The Black Crystal grows out of control with Bright trapped inside of it. It uses the sadness of the people around to make itself grown even more. Inside, the Black Crystal tries to convince Bright to come back into the darkness since he's useless without having that power. Of course, Altessa's worried about her brother... Fine and Rein try to cheer her up with the daijoubu ("It'll be okay") dance and say they'll get rid of the crystal using the prominence. Pumo objects, but there isn't anything else they can do so they transform and use the prominence, freeing Bright. Fine ends up with Shade, saying that she wants something to eat (of course), and Rein looks after Bright, who's asleep. However, they're not done yet -- the Black Crystal shards fly up towards the Sun Kingdom...
The Black Crystal shards return to the main body of the crystal up in the Sun Kingdom, dimming the light of the Sun's Blessing even further.... At the Moon Kingdom, everyone's crying as they have been since they were driven from the Sun Kingdom, and now even Fine and Rein's parents have given up hope. Fine and Rein try to cheer them up, doing a iyaiya dance (Pumo even joins in) to show how they don't like seeing them cry, but it's no use.... Moon Maria wakes up from her slumber as Shade watches over here, saying that one of the "lights of hope" is disappearing... Fine and Rein remember the times when there parents were happy and smile, and eventually come to tears. But they can't be crying at a time like this, they've got to be happy :)
Fine and Rein ask Pumo to teach them the magic to return the Sun's Blessing to its former radiance. Pumo refuses, saying that he can't do it, the Final Prominence, without all of the Grace Stones collected. However, Naginyo shows up and gives it away -- just add "final" and that's all you need to do the Final Prominence. Camelot and Lulu come and offer their support, in tears at seeing Fine and Rein having grown so much. Fine, Rein, and Pumo telepumotion to the Sun Kingdom... and there, the Black Crystal has grown all over the ballroom. It's time to do it -- Fine and Rein transform and bring the Grace Stones out, and use the prominence....
And we'll have to wait for next week to see how things turn out. So things have picked up now with one episode to go. Interesting to see the pairing again for once in a while, Fine-Shade and Rein-Bright... suppose all of that might be something for Gyu! ;) I don't think Fine and Rein have ever cried up until this episode.. of course seeing your parents like that would make you sad, but it's very much like Fine and Rein to put on a smile and try to do their best. Incidentally, the lucky item for the day (the last one, I guess?) is a smile. Very Futago Hime-ish ;)
Next time we wrap things up for this year of Futago Hime. Are Fine and Rein going to be able to return the Sun's Blessing without all of the Grace Stones? Why were they crying in the next episode preview? Is this the last we see of Pumo? And is there going to be something to make the connection to Gyu! which will be picking up the week after? Can't wait to see ;)
I really don't like how the producers randomly shove Fine x Shade and Rein x Bright until the very end. I mean from the looks of it, I admit Fine x Shade had some (but very little) development (like the last Princess Party and Shade yelling at Fine for going to Bright's party). But still, I really see Fine and Shade more as friends than as a couple, since Fine is very similar to Milky and Shade is Milky's brother.
As for Rein x Bright, that leaves a W, a T, and an F from me. It seemed like Bright was really interested in Fine and then, episode 49: Bright totally ignores Fine and turns to Rein, continued in episode 50. The lack of relationship development kind of confuses me, if you know what I mean.
I'm naturally someone who loves canon... Bright x Rein isn't totally bad, but... come on, Fine x Cake has been there before Fine met Shade. :3
Also, I forgot to mention -- I'm speculating that the last Grace Stone is either a) Poomo, or b) everyone's *shining* hope to save the world.
But really, I'd go for A. That stone on his hat looks suspicious and judging by the episode preview, something's going to happen to him.
Who cares what they do u-u But seriously the Bright and Rein couple is alright. Plus Fine and Sade are better ^-^
I saw like less Rein and Shade in the entire series. I think they put Rein and Bright together because Bright notices that she actually cares for him?
Can't wait for Gyu! I hope they have CUTE merchandise that I can buy in Nippon!
