Hime-sama Goyoujin 2
What I said last time about maybe learning more about Nana and the crown and such... yeah, forget that, didn't happen this time. Instead, we get to see how much of an idiot Himeko really is. She's definitely in contention with Yuuna for the title of biggest idiot of the year (^^;;) She can't figure out that everybody's talking about her when they say "Himeko-sama" -- she thinks they're talking about the gorilla. The gorilla is not named Himekosama, is not a queen, and there is absolutely no need to check to see if the gorilla is a girl or not (^^;;) And after that Himeko goes pretty much paranoid, thinking that Aoi's out to get her by offering poisoned apples and such (though she's actually trying to serve her queen), and she ends up locking herself up in the bathroom along with Nana and Sobana. Sobana tries her best to fool the crowd into thinking that Himeko's not there, but of course it doesn't work.
Leslie and Karen show up to take back the crown, but of course they end up getting involved in the whole mess. The tennis match promised in the title finally comes at the very end... well, not really. Aoi and Nana (now in Himeko cosplay since Aoi's trying to fool everybody) were to face off against Leslie and Himeko, but when Himeko finally shows up she apologizes to Aoi, the crowd applauds her kindness... and Sobana finally gets Himeko to understand that she's the queen and the the gorilla is not named Himekosama. Nana tries to steal the crown from Himeko, but the thing seems to be permanently stuck to Himeko's head.
So, we did learn that the crown is Himeko's until there's some way to get it off... and that's about it. Anyways, Himeko's display of idiocy was fun to watch, though relying on it for a full episode is probably a bit much (^^;;) I'm also enjoying Sobana@Miyukichi and her puppetry -- Miyukichi's performance is great. And of course Nana was cute as usual.. though it would be nice to hear a bit about who the heck she is and why she's after the crown and such. I am enjoying things so far since I like the characters and the individual performances by the seiyuu are great, but it doesn't seem to be coming together quite as well as it should for now. Hopefully the tempo will get a bit better in the coming episodes. Next time, something about an assassin in the title?
...and I know I said this last time, but the ED is just about lethally cute (how many times have I watched it now?), almost as much as the second Futago Hime ED. 萌え死んだ moeshinda would probably be an appropriate expression to use ;)
if I'd get a penny for every misunderstanding in the show, I could make a decent living...
I don't think anyone in the show is particularly smart. comparitively speaking, though, maybe Nana or the gorilla.
