Opening: "Hyakuhatsu hyakuchuu toraburun" by Himeko (Ryoko Shintani) & Nana (Ui Miyazaki) - Dancing in OP/EDs sure seems to be popular these days, doesn't it? With the Galaxy Angel staff involved it's not surprising I'm somewhat reminded of it right off the bat here. Anyways, Nana and Himeko are cute :)

Ending: "Candy☆Pop☆Sweet☆Heart" by Ryoko Shintani - Did I mention that Nana and Himeko are cute? Multiply that by a lot for the ending. terakawaisu! :)

On a dark night, two thieves, Leslie and Karen, attempt to steal a crown by replacing it with a fake one. However, Karen gets confused about which is which and things just go wrong after that, so they're forced to flee from the police with both. The next morning, we start with a rather ojou-sama type girl at tennis practice, Aoi Misuzu. However, she slips on a soda can -- pantsu marumie~, pantsu marumie! -- and shows off her tanuki print pantsu to everyone there. She's pissed, and takes it out on the coach there. She asks where the person who's supposed to clean up is... well, she's not there. That girl, Himeko Tsubaki@Ryoko Shintani has overslept. Her father, a policeman, tried from dealing with that robbery, sleeps in the bathroom. Her mother gives her a newspaper with an article about the theft of the crown, but she says nothing about that, instead pointing out that the newspaper is shaped like a bear. Himeko cuts a bit and turns it into a horse..... okay (^^;;) One of Himeko's friends, Sobana@Miyukichi (Miyuki Sawashiro's nickname), comes over to get her. She only speaks through a hand puppet (^^;;) Anyways, if Himeko doesn't do something Aoi's going to be rather mad at her, so she heads on out.

While Himeko heads to school, she bumps (literally) into Karen and Leslie who are still running away. Himeko ends up mistakenly taking one of the bags with the real crown in it and runs away. Leslie and Karen, not realizing that, go to complete a trade with a leader of this... cat gang or something and one Miss (not Mrs.) Youko. The boss@Norio Wakamoto is not at all happy and fries Miss Youko with an eye beam (Gar-kun?).

Himeko completely missed the bus so she's got to hitchhike now. Of course, it ends up that Leslie and Karen pull up to offer her a ride. Seeing that Leslie's not Japanese, Himeko runs away, thinking he'll talk to her in English (even though he speaks to her in Japanese). She's quite fast, and ends up running all the way into a pond in a forest up on a mountainside. There, she opens up the bag and tries the crown on for size, admiring her reflection in the pond. Behind her, a little girl comes out from behind a tree, speaking some unknown language...

Himeko, seeing the frills on the girl's clothes, somehow connects that with food since she's feeling hungry. Don't ask me how (^^;;) A little gorilla then walks by and eats a banana, throwing the peel right into the path of the girl. Himeko goes to ask the gorilla for a banana, not helping the girl at all. Of course, the girl slips on the banana peel and falls (^^;;) The girl seems to be interested in the crown, trying to take it away, but never quite getting it. Himeko's more interested in getting a banana from the gorilla -- the gorilla holds one in its mouth, seemingly willing to let Himeko have a bite. Nana tries to sneak up, but Himeko points away and tries to distract her by saying that a bear's there -- there actually is a bear, through. They all run away... and both the girl and Himeko are hungry now. The girl offers Himeko a banana, saying something in some unknown language. Himeko backs up -- this girl is a gaijin (oi, that's very much politically incorrect, say gaikokujin).

Leslie and Karen finally arrive, and Leslie strips to his boxers and jumps in the pond to swim over and try to retreive the crown. Leslie asks Himeko for a trade -- he'll translate what the girl's saying and she'll give him the crown if he can do it. Only problem is that the girl doesn't speak English, French, Spanish, German, or Korean. When Leslie comes out of the pond the girl runs away.... seems Leslie has lost his boxers (this Inukami! or something?). Himeko retrieves her bag and starts to take out her bentou to have a snack, but then she remembers that she's supposed to go to school and runs off. Leslie and Karen chase in their car, with Nana riding along. Karen tries to communicate with the girl, but doesn't succeed. She eventually gets the girl to tell them her name -- Nana@Ui Miyazaki (Aisia@DCSS). When they stop in town, Leslie is arrested by police since he's still not wearing anything (this Inuk(ry When Himeko arrives at school, everyone is lined up to greet her. Seems that crown has made her almost like a queen or something....

And that's where we end this time. That crown seems to have some ridiculous powers to do something like that, but we'll learn more about what the heck is it in the coming episodes. This show was promoted as being the work of the Galaxy Angel staff, and it shows since it's got a similar feel with the types of gags and such. Himeko@Ryoko Shintani seems to be the airhead Milfeulle type, though perhaps a bit more active. And that would make Ryoko Shintani perfect for playing the part since she was Milfeulle in GA ;) Though that gajin complex of hers is rather un-PC (^^;;) Nana@Ui Miyazaki is much, much too kawaii :) Got to like Ui Miyazaki with her role as Aishia@DCSS so I'm happy to hear her again. Wish Nana would say something I could understand... and of course I'm happy to be able to hear Norio Wakamoto in yet another role this season as the boss of that odd cat organization or whatever the heck it is. Definitely not as reserved as he is as Gar-kun@Yoshinaga-san'chi no Gargoyle ;)

Animation by Nomad is good, hopefully it'll stay that way. I really do like the character designs a lot. Anyways, we left off in a somewhat odd place this time so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next week. If it's anything like GA it'll get crazier as it goes on.

Hmmmm... man, it's cute, but weird. There's so much stuff to watch this season! Himeko's... not the sharpest knife in the drawer, is she? Well, then again, I guess none of the characters seem to be.

It seems talking through a puppet is a very popular trend these days!! I wonder if there are any people who do it in the real world!

I think the screenshot in the top right hand corner of the last image set is not related to the caption.
