Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu 4 (7)

So the day of the tournament comes. Mikuru's brought a friend along to be on the team, and Kyon's brought along a couple of friends and his little sister. Haruhi asks why Kyon brought along his little sister (10 years old), doubting whether a good girl like her could possibly be related to him in the process. He did it on purpose so they'll lose... their first opponent is college baseball team (^^;;) Haruhi seems to be pretty good, but everybody else is... not so good. Haruhi tries to get some more effort out of the group by pulling out the cheerleader outfits (as in the OP). Poor Mikuru... also useful for distracting the opposing pitcher. Itsuki tells Kyon that they need to make sure to win to keep Haruhi in a good mood... otherwise, something bad will happen -- you know, end of the world and such. Okay (^^;;) By the end of 3 innings it's 9-0 -- one more run and the mercy rule will go into effect and they'll lose. They manage to get out of the inning and come to bat -- Yuki uses some kind of spell to make the bat into a homing bat that can hit it out of the park with ease, so they rack up the runs until Kyon tells her it's enough.

Kyon goes to pitch -- if they can get out the side they'll win (What's with the music that sounds like it came right out of Touch here?). With the help of Yuki putting some crazy magic on the ball, Kyon strikes out the first two batters. It looks like they might win, but after Yuki can't grab a pitch it might be over... Itsuki tags out the runner so they do end up winning, though. But Kyon doesn't feel much like going on so he tells Haruhi that it's enough. She seems to be satisfied, so it's all good :) So that's the end of that... well, maybe -- Haruhi comes in the next day with flyers for soccer and football tournaments (^^;;) Oh well...

Well, I'm just a wee bit confused here (^^;;) But I suppose like the first episode we're supposed to keep what happened in mind as we watch upcoming episodes to see how it all fits together... I guess. Anyways, though I might have been confused I still enjoyed things and laughed a good bit. Kyon's narration was funny as usual. And poor Mikuru-chan (yet again)... what's with Haruhi chewing on her ear there? Crazy woman there. That obvious squeeze sign of Haruhi's was pretty hilarious, too. Did I mention that Kyon's little sister is really, really kawaii? Does she actually have a name, or is she just going to be Kyon no imouto the whole way through? ;)

Anyways, next time, episode 3... 5... Whatever. We pick up from where we left off last time. Looking forward to more :)

Added: I meant to talk about this when I posted, but forgot. Like last year's movement to push the Negima!
