In a rare follow up to what happened last time (...which I should probably blog....), Uma is sent to hell by a Dr. Keiko Enma. First, she has to pile stones on top of each other. When she's just about finished, a Liru oni makes it fall down and she has to start all over. Of course, since we're dealing with Uma here she finds a way to have fun -- pushing it down by herself before the Liru oni does it. She does the same to the other people there as well, and soon enough the Liru oni has had it and sends her off to the next hell. In this one Uma's put into a giant cauldron and boiled by a Pachira oni. The Pachira oni makes the mistake of telling Uma that she won't die, though, so Uma sits back and relaxes. The Pachira oni seems to not like hot water, so Uma squirts some at her and the other oni (that actually look like oni), and soon enough Uma's sent on. This next time she ends up in a cage on a burning cart that an Aiko oni takes around hell. Of course, since Uma knows she can't die it doesn't bother her at all and she wants to get on with the tour. Soon enough, Aiko writes a note and sends her up to heaven. The note says that Uma's banned from hell. She is a handful (^^;;) Uma frolics in the soft billowly clouds, but soon enough gets bored since there's nothing there. The spirit in charge decides to revive Uma and send her back home so it all works out in the end thanks to Uma being an idiot.. yeah.

Uma performs a magic show at the park... in front of a very sparse audience. She does all kinds of really stupid tricks -- making flowers grow on peoples heads, barely changing the color of a handkerchief, trying to guess cards and only getting 3 of 5 correct. The audience is not impressed, though doggy Liru seems to be having fun. Pachira and Aiko are there watching as well. Seems Pachira messed up the sign -- it's supposed to be "Magical Show", not "Magic Show". Just a little mistake, not like it matters, she says, pissing Uma off. Uma uses a thunder spell, and while she casts it her skirt lifts up and... the audience is very pleased now, and demands an encore. Again... and again... and again... Uma doesn't understand why, though. That's Uma for you (^^;;) Uma asks the crowd to promise to come back the next day for another show, and they all shout yeah. However, the next day Uma doesn't feel like doing anything... there's a huge crowd gathered at the park to watch...

Well, no more panchira for them. At least Uma remembered to wear pantsu this time, otherwise she would've probably killed the whole crowd ;) An impressive display of Uma's idiocy this time (that's a compliment) with some good laughs, especially when she was in hell in the A part. The B part wasn't quite as funny, but it was still entertaining. Actually, about the B part -- the sakkan (sakuga kantoku, animation director) wrote on his blog to apologize for the animation quality going down. It sounds like they had a team from another company assist (as is common in anime production), and apparently the quality of work wasn't up to his standards. I've seen much, much worse, so that gives you an idea of what kind of quality the Magipoka staff are trying to maintain. The B part will be redone for the DVD release. Next time will be back to normal :)

Anyways, I'm really enjoying Magipoka so far. Just my kind of show -- cute characters doing silly things that's quite soothing to watch after a hard day ;)

This anime is hilarious. Too bad the subbers are kinda slow so I'm watching the raws and understanding only 2/3 of the jokes. Thanks for blogging.
