Magical Pokan 7

Liru's really, really, really, really excited since the full moon is coming up and she wants to watch it and have a party with everybody. Nobody else is really all that interested as of yet, though... Liru goes off shopping to buy food for the moon-watching party and buys this and that and a ton of other things, unable to resist discounts. The day finally comes so Liru sets out to get the best spot for moon-watching and to set up a refrigerator and grill and tables and blankets and... as the sun sets her stomach grumbles since she hasn't eaten yet, and for some reason a steak appears in her hands. Night comes and Uma and rest come and eat all they want and just have fun, and...
Uma, Pachira, and Aiko arrive at the designated moon-watching spot to find Liru, now in cute doggy form, talking in her sleep. Seems she was so excited that she wore herself out over the past couple of days. But rather than wake her up, Uma picks her up and cuddles her as everybody enjoys watching the full moon... what, no ochi (the "punch line", you could say)? Well, a nice happy ending like this is good every once in a while. Liru's extremely cute in doggy form :)

Taking a break from the usual Magipoka, this time it's an episode of Magical Five, a magical sentai-ish robot kinda show. You'll notice everybody's changed their acting a bit, especially Pachira, to fit more with the whole robot show style. Anyways, a transmission comes into the Anime Research Institute, the base of the Magical Five, showing a giant robot destroying the group's fuel depot. And Aiko's been captured! Dr. Keiko, playing the bad guy as usual, is the one behind it all. After discussing things a bit, tt's time for the Magical Five to jump into action! Uh... wait, five? Liru, Aiko, Uma, Pachira... that's four. Who's number five? Took me a minute to realize that number five (the green one) is some kinda invisible person or something... or whatever ;)
Anyways, Magical Five launches and Liru orders the gattai as they approach the giant robot -- cue the excessively heated transformation sequence into one giant robot, and... uh, the torso's missing (^^;;;;;) Okay, that didn't work, try again with somebody piloting Aiko's craft... gattai! Uh... why are there two of Aiko's machine?... okay, try again, this time with only Liru piloting Aiko's machine... just her, get it? the others say okay and don't go along... that's not what Liru meant (^^;;;;) Try again... why is everybody piloting the same type of machine?... eyecatch.
Aiko shows up while the rest of the Magical Five are fighting amongst themselves. Seems that Dr. Keiko released her since she's not interested in fighting such a stupid group (^^;;) To be continued...

Next episode preview! Aiko ends up going to Akihabara since she saw a flyer for cheap 4GB hard drives... only 4GB? Everybody else goes along and ends up going to a maid cafe, then Pachira starts throwing up blood for some reason, then Uma gets lured away by a hentai, then Liru ends up going to eat instead of looking for Aiko, then a robot Uma shows up and nobody notices, then they all go to fight that big robot that's causing trouble again and an upgraded Aiko shows up, then some unknown robot shows up and blows the other away, and.... rather long next episode preview (^^;;)
Yeah, I was laughing the whole way through Magical Five. Absolutely stupid and ridiculously funny. You can tell the staff were having lots of fun with it. Magipoka has the repeating gag thing down :) As Hirata-san (the chief animation director I mentioned last time) said on his blog, the animation was back to the usual pretty high quality stuff this time... though perhaps they put in a bit too much effort for Magical Five ;)
