Binbou Shimai Monogatari 2

The same day, same time every month, the demon king comes to Kyou and Asu... asking for the rent. But this month he didn't come. Kyou thinks that means she won't have to pay rent. I don't think so (^^;;) The next day, while Kyou's out playing with water (school swimsuit on underneath her clothes so it's okay), their neighbor in the apartment, Renko, tells her and Asu that the landlord is in the hospital with a broken leg. Kyou and Asu decide to go visit him in the hospital, buying an apple to give to him.
The landlord's a pretty grumpy old man (tsundere?) and doesn't care much for Kyou and Asu's presence. However, Kyou and Asu come the next day, and the next day, and the next day, giving him a back massage and tea and a watermelon and finally some flowers from Asu. He told them not to come anymore... that night it starts to rain, but the roof doesn't leak like it usually does. Somebody must've fixed it for them... the landlord must've broken his leg while he was doing that. Kyou and Asu go back to visit him the next day to tell him to get better quick -- he says thank you.
Kyou plays around with water outside again, and this time Asu's in a "pool" (big bucket). Kyou even washes Asu's hair... and he's baaaaack -- the landlord is out of the hospital and not in a great mood with Kyou wasting water and making a mess. And pay the rent. Oh well _| ̄|○ So the demon king will come every month on the same day at the same time for the rent, but Kyou and Asu will do their best so they can stay there.
Pretty cute stuff as usual. Lots of sisterly love, wasn't there? This episode was closer to the feel of the manga than the first episode with all the sad stuff. They stretched out a short chapter of the manga from the first volume a good bit to make up most of this episode. It felt better than the first episode. Kinda odd that Ranko, Kyou and Asu's neighbor, suddenly showed up with zero introduction, but maybe there'll be more about her later. However, there's still one problem here... please, stop the overdramatic directing. If they'd tone that down I wouldn't have that many complaints _| ̄|○ The biggest one beside the overdramatic directing would be the animation not quite being up to par, but it's Toei so that's expected. It's still cute most of the time so far, so it's okay ;)
Next time we'll meet the Echigoya sisters, Kinko (older sister) and Ginko (same age as Asu). Unlike Kyou and Asu, they're rich, though Kinko is rather cheap.
