Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime Gyu! 18

Everybody's leaving to go back home for summer break, everybody except those from the Fushigiboshi that missed the train -- Fine, Rein, Altessa, Shade, Bright, Leonne, Auler, and Sophie are stuck there until the next train. Altessa's rather depressed, so everybody decides to go do some fun stuff, then watch the meteor shower that night to cheer her up a bit. But of course, Edward doesn't want anything like that to happen -- Auler looks into that mirror and Edward takes control of him. That "When our eyes met.." line of Edward's is too good ;) Fango's still at the school as well, but he's not interested in going with everybody...

The gang finds a nice spot next to a river to set up camp. Auler's got a nice chair and umbrella set up for Altessa, but she's still rather depressed... she should be at home having a decor party with her mother now... While Fine and Rein and the other prepare food, Auler goes to wash the vegetables along with Altessa. As he's getting ready to do that, Edward takes over and makes him spill the vegetables into the river... well, they've still got BBQ so it's okay -- but Shade, in a very un-Shade like moment, mentions it'd be great if they did have vegetables, making Altessa feel even more depressed (^^;;) Edward goes to work again when Altessa takes drinks to Fine and Rein, making Auler bump into her and spill the drinks on the grill...

Though the BBQ didn't turn out as planned, there's still a bonfire to do. Edward makes Auler go grab water from the river, supposedly to put the fire out when they're done, but he makes Auler trip and throw the water onto the firewood... Altessa runs off into the woods. She reads a letter from her mother -- her mother's very lonely without her there... Auler comes and apologizes to her for messing up so much, but he wants her to watch the shooting stars with him. Altessa goes to help Leonne and Sophie get more wood, dropping the letter which Auler picks up and tells Fine and Rein about. The second campfire is finally ready to go now.

Altessa starts the fire up as the meteor shower starts. Edward's finished with Auler and leaves him, causing the sky to cloud up and the fire to go out... time for Fine and Rein to do their thing, and they get rid of the tornados that Edward sent...

More and more shooting stars fill the sky -- they're like decor. Altessa, smiling now, wants to tell her mother all about them once she gets home. Altessa thanks Auler for being by her side and making her feel better. Sophie jumps in and says that it might be good for Altessa to be as quiet as she was this time, making her angry -- Sophie says that fits her best (^^;;)

..Sophie always has to do that, doesn't she? ;) Though the animation wasn't quite up to par, it was nice to have an episode focused on the Fushigiboshi characters, though some others were missing... like Miruro. Well, Miruro wouldn't miss the train since she's a good princess, I guess ;) And where's Tio? Odd that Leonne's there but Tio's not... Shade was a bit different than usual this time, not quite so serious about things.. somewhat weird, but interesting. Anyways, it's been a while since there's been some Auler x Altessa stuff going on, so it's good to see that flag's still there, though it's not quite there yet, it would seem. Ganbatte, Auler! ;)

Next time, Fine and Rein head back to the Fushigiboshi. Elizabert's coming along, too. And it looks like she's going to be Edward's next target. Should be interesting -- I wonder if evil Elizabert will have the same voice or something a bit different. Tamagawa-san's doing storyboard and episode direction next time, too, so it should be good :)
