Zero no Tsukaima 3

Few days late here, but this week's Shana no Tsukaima Zero no Tsukaima ;)
Saito washes Louise's pantsu, and he's not too happy about it, along with all of the other things Louise makes him do. He thanked her for looking after him after he was injured during the fight with Guiche, but she doesn't want it -- looking after a tsukaima is a mage's job. Now get to work!
Saito accompanies Louise to class, where he promptly begins taking advantage of his position to try and look up skirts elsewhere in the class (and yet he doesn't look when Louise is changing...), getting a swift kick from Louise. There, he learns the reason why Louise is called a zero... and after class, he says he has a song to sing for his master -- it's a very bad song making fun of Louise for being a lousy mage. She's mad? Yes, she's mad, you idiot :P No food for him... but he gets her to lift the punishment... and then goes off again, saying he won't call her "zero" ever again, even though she has zero magic and zero chest (ノ∀`)アチャー No food, sleep outside. What an idiot... However, Saito does get fed thanks to Siesta and the rest of the kitchen workers who consider him their hero. After eating, he learns from Siesta that he was in pretty bad condition after the fight with Guiche, and that Louise bought some very expensive medicine to help him... and that Siesta wants to talk to him again sometime..
When going back to sleep, Kirche's tsukaima tackles Saito and takes him to Kirche's room. Kirche's not dressed in too much, saying that she fell in love with him after seeing him defeat Guiche. She tries to kiss Saito, but every time a "friend" interrupts -- seems she's made some dates with some guys, but she roasts all of them with flame. She's finally on top of Saito when Louise barges in, demanding he come back. Kirche says that though he might be her tsukaima, he's still human so he should be able to choose in things such as love. Louise finally drags him away by the ear.
This time Saito's not going to get off easy. If he won't behave then she'll just have to treat him like a dog -- she pulls out a horse whip and starts whipping him. Saito grabs her arms and asks if she might be jealous of Kirche... oops... kick to the nuts (^^;;) Seems like Louise's family and Kirche's family have been enemies since long ago, so Louise doesn't want Kirche to take anything of hers..
Saito explains what happened to Louise. But since he can use swords he should be able to protect himself.. but he himself doesn't know what happened. Sometimes, when a tsukaima makes a contract with a mage the tsukaima will gain a power -- like a black cat being able to talk, though Saito's not a cat or anything. Louise tells him to go to sleep, so he picks up his straw bed and starts to go to the hall. But Louise says he can sleep in the room since it'd be trouble if Kirche came after him again.. so she does l... uh-oh, Saito did it again. Out comes the whip (ノ∀`)アチャー
The next day, Saito rides with Louise on a horse to town, hands all over her chest -- he thought it was her stomach since there's nothing there... Does he want to die or something? (^^;;) Kirche sees them leaving and goes to Nagato's Tabitha's room. Before Kirche comes in, Tabitha casts a silence spell so she can continue reading in peace, though she takes it off after a bit. Kirche wants to know what Louise and Saito are up to... but Tabitha shakes her head. Kirche explains that only Tabitha's tsukaima can catch up with them, so she then agrees. Tabitha goes to the window and whistles, and a rather big dragon, Slyph, comes to the window and they ride it, following Louise and Saito.
Once in town, Louise takes Saito to a weapon shop -- she's going to buy him a sword. The shopkeeper brings out a rapier at first, but Louise says that she wants one that's big and thick. The shopkeeper brings out a rather expensive-looking sword, one supposedly made by a very famous alchemist. 3,000... Louise can't afford that much, so she has to settle for what she can buy for 100 -- a rusty, beat-up sword... Kirche and Tabitha see Louise and Saito walk out of the weapon shop...
Kirche ends up bringing Saito that expensive sword... how'd she afford it? Well, the expected way -- a bit of charm to get the shopkeeper to bring it down to a reasonable price. Louise and Kirche are about ready to fight when Tabitha uses her magic to make their wands fly away -- they're inside. Kirche and Louise want Saito to decide... Can he have both? Sorry, this ain't Futakoi, no can do -- he gets kicked by both... Kirche says she hates Louise, and Louise says the same of Kirche -- it's a duel. A voice comes from somewhere, telling the girls to shut up. They think it's Saito, but it's actually that beat-up sword. It's an "intelligent device sword", apparently, and Saito seems to like it. The sword names itself as Delfringer...
So how many times did I say Saito's an idiot? Not as many times as I thought that while watching and while reading ;) You'd think he has a death wish from the repeated times he said or did something that anybody would realize would piss Louise off, which leads to what you saw this time. The anime skipped some of the more devious things -- for example, Saito tore the elastic in Louise's panties, causing them to fall to her feet, and that made her trip and fall down the stairs butt naked... but of course he took care not to look, though he tried to look up skirts during class earlier (^^;;) Louise@Rie Kugimiya was great as usual, with her extreme tsuntsun shown off this time.
The material for this episode was mostly taken from chapters 1-3 of the second half of the first volume. The first volume is separated into two parts -- "The Magic Kingdom", and the other part which I won't name since that name hasn't been mentioned in the anime as of yet. I suppose they're saving that for later... There was a good bit of rearranging, things taken out, and things added, but it was put together well and I enjoyed it, so no big issues. The more episodes like this with comedic content, the better it would seem, as the battles don't seem to be a focus judging from the battle between Guiche and Saito last time. There's one other battle to come in the material from the first volume, so we'll see how that one goes.
Next time, an anime original episode centered on Siesta the maid. I'm really not a maid person, but she is cute and sweet so I do like her... though not as much as Louise or Tabitha, yeah :)

Ah, so you have read the novel :)
srintuar: Yup, I have. Only read volume one (I've got two volumes) so far, though.
You know, it seems that Louise/Shana REALLY is into S&M this time about, and that Yuuji/Saito should either learn to enjoy submission and masochism, or else figure out a way out of there pronto, especially with Kirche looking at putting claws into him. You'd almost thinks he was Shinji, with the way she's abusing her Servant tsukaima there.
Still, she at least seems somewhat lucky in servants there - first turning up Saito, then getting a magic sword out of the deal.
What makes you think Saito doesn't like S&M? He certainly does enough to cause himself to get tortured by Louise more and more. Either he really enjoys it or he's got a bizarre talent for saying the absolute worst things possible in any given situation. ^_-
Given that this IS anime, I'd lean towards the latter - that also seems endemic to harem leads. :D
Doesn't he get bruises from all those beatings? He's almost like a Keitaro (of Love Hina fame), an invincible male harem lead... though perverted. ^_^;;
Oh, and a Siesta-centric episode? Hehe. I'll be expecting Jason to cover this one in more detail. >:D
