Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime Gyu! 21
Elizabert isn't too impressed by the food at the royal table, but it isn't that bad (^^;;) While everyone eats together, Touluse asks Fango if he ate together with his family like they're doing now. Fango gets up and leaves without saying a thing. Fango doesn't seem to be having all that much fun.. perhaps he doesn't like the Fushigiboshi. Fine and Rein have to do something to get him to smile. Elizabert thinks it's rather boring -- it'd be nice to go to a beach resort or something. Good idea, Beta-sama! ;)
Fine and Rein track down Fango and talk about going to the beach, and eating all the yummy food there (Fine, really...), but he's not interested. Pyupyu and Kyukyu seem to have gotten an idea.. they go find Fango, who's sitting by himself with that "G" coin out, and take the coin away, leading him to the airship. Ain't got a choice but to go now (^^;;) Edward (in butterfly form) also sneaks aboard... Pyupyu and Kyukyu seem to have gotten smarter -- they realize that Fango might do something to them ;)
They arrive in the Flame Kingdom (cue the samba music) and meet up with Leonne and Tio, who have a nice spot on the beach ready (though it's smaller than Elizabert's private beach.. of course). Edward won't let them have fun, though.. after everyone else goes ahead he possesses Leonne.
On the beach, Fine and Rein are getting ready for some good ol'... watermelon fishing? Never heard of that (^^;;) Leonne, now controlled by Edward, says she'll get it ready and takes the watermelon away. Soon, the watermelon is in a pool with other assorted things. Elizabert has her golden rod ready -- she's apparently the "Goddess of watermelon fishing -- and tries to reel in the watermelon. She gets a teapot instead.. but when she did it before she always got it... surely since Shasha and Carla put it on there for her (^^;;) Fine and Rein take their turns, both not getting the watermelon. Rein must be doing the airhead thing on purpose... or maybe not ;) Fango finally comes and takes the fishing rod, easily hooking and reeling in the watermelon. It's really heavy though... Leonne says that it's really a stone painted as a watermelon and blames Fine and Rein. Fine and Rein wonder what could be going on.. oi, Leonne's the one who last had the watermelon so it must be her ;) Anyways, Elizabert's had enough of this and wants to do something else.
Next up, the usual staple of summer, nagashi soumen. Elizabert has her golden bowl and chopsticks ready -- she's the goddess o(ry Of course, she can't catch any soumen, wondering why it doesn't stop in front of her (^^;;) Rein continues being an airhead, and soon Fango comes and takes the chopsticks away from her and grabs some soumen. Rein tells him to try it -- it's pretty good... however, soon random junk comes flowing down and the machine breaks. Leonne blames it on Fine and Rein again... Elizabert wants something else to do now..
Leonne suggests beach volleyball this time, Fine and Elizabert against Tio and Rein. Fine's really good, as expected, and Elizabert doesn't move an inch (as expected). Of course, Elizabert says she's the godd(ry Rein asks Fango if he'd like to join in, but he stays under his umbrella. But soon enough he's had enough of it and takes the ball, throwing it over to Elizabert and telling her to serve. Elizabert actually does do a good serve :) Fango spikes it back. He doesn't play nice just since he's playing against girls. The game goes on, but when Fine hits the ball, Leonne presses a button and it swerves and hits Fango. Leonne blames it on Fine again. Fango says it couldn't be them -- they're not the type who'd do those kind of things. Rather, Leonne's the one acting odd.
Edward, finished with Leonne, leaves her and summons a rather large jellyfish -- but one that shoots beams from its tentacles instead of doing other things. As usual, Fine and Rein transform and easily get rid of the monster... as the sun sets, Fine and Rein are still ready to have some fun. The vacation's not over quite yet -- they're still not done with their plan to get Fango to smile. Hearing that they did this all for him, Fango smiles. Fine and Rein tease him about it :)
But the vaction is over since it's time to go back to school. Everybody gets on the train (Miruro's there!) and they head back to the Royal Wonder Planet...
Too bad the summer's already over. Would've been nice if they would've gone to the Water Drop Kingdom to visit Miruro ;)
Quite a fun episode this time. And geez, the animation was surprisingly high quality (you could call it 神作画 kamisakuga) -- guess the usual rule about animation quality dropping for swimsuit episodes doesn't apply to Futago Hime Gyu of all shows. Fine and Rein were too cute this time, but Beta-sama was surprisingly cute. That scene where she served the volleyball was too good :) Leonne was cute, too, but would've liked to see more of normal Leonne. Dark Leonne seemed to be not quite appropriate for a show supposedly aiming for a younger audience, really (^^;;) Anyways, Edward needs to come up with more evil plans that aren't so blatantly obvious. Go figure Fine and Rein wouldn't notice that something was odd about Leonne until Fango told them so... Speaking of Fango, over these past few episodes he's turned into quite a likeable character. Seems that Elizabert might have something for him.. and with Rein's acting(?) this time it seems Fango might be looking at her, so things could be interesting there ;) That aside, I wonder if we'll learn more about Fango's family soon since there have been hints dropped the past couple of episodes with that "G" coin of his and such...
Next time, it's time to do all of that summer homework Fine and Rein have been putting off. Looks like they're going to be losing a ton of points (^^;;) And is Edward going after Chiffon next? Hopefully he'll be able to do something a bit more evil using all of the brainpower she has ;)
