Monday Notes (August 21)...
It's Monday, and I certainly feel like it. Wish I could've learned that a professor for one of my classes teaches in a style I'm not very fond of before Drop/Add was over Friday, but oh well... I rather dislike being made to do silly skits that were thought up in 10 minutes in front of the class. I can understand what's going on in the story without that, thank you very much :P Hopefully we won't do this too often...
I'm not going to get home and be able to post/watch stuff until after 9pm tonight since the screening for my East Asian Cinema class starts at 6:30pm at the library. We're watching Zhang Limou's Raise the Red Lantern this week, next week is Chen Kaige's Farewell My Concubine. The Japanese films we'll be watching are Tokyo Story, Rashomon, Kagemusha, An Actor's Revenge, and Tampopo... Anyways, I'll do stuff when I can do stuff, that's all I can say with my schedule now ;)
TBS Anime Festa 2006 (via MOON PHASE and others on Hatena)
The TBS Anime Festa was held this past weekend, giving those who attended a chance to see the first episodes of some upcoming Fall shows.
Kanon
The usual KyoAni quality, so very good reviews as expected. The heroines' seiyuu are unchanged from the Toei version as previously reported, but Yuuichi's seiyuu has been changed to Tomokazu Sugita. I'll probably end up hearing him as Kyon ;)
Asatte no Houkou (TBS Asatte no Houkou Site)
Even with some changes right from the start, it sounds like it's successfully captured the atmosphere of the manga. Only two volumes of the manga are out now, so it'll have to go original to finish things up. Looking forward to it.
Yoake mae yori ruriiro na (Yoakena for short)
Not familiar with the game by August at all.... but I'll probably end up checking it out anyways.
Wintergarden (Digi Charat Official Website, MOON PHASE)
There was one surprise -- a new Digi Charat anime titled Wintergarden, made by the staff of Snow Fairy Sugar -- but it's not your usual Digi Charat at all. It's set 10 years after the previous series, and most surprising, it's not a comedy, it's one of those bittersweet love stories, so no "nyo" for Dejiko or anything like that. Different from the norm for Digi Charat to say the least, but it could be interesting, I suppose. It's only planned for 2 episodes as of now.
Rozen Maiden oubertüre (as given on the site, but ouvertüre would seem to be the correct spelling) (TBS Rozen Maiden Site)
The OP for the Rozen Maiden special set to air this winter was shown, with ALI PROJECT doing the song, of course. Seems like it'll be focusing on Suigintou, so the Gin-chan fans out there should be happy.
And that's the news for now. I see in the poll that

First Shuffle!, then TMoSH, and now Kanon? Guy sure is making a living voicing non-spineless male harem leads. :D
Cheers.
'ouverture' would be the correct spelling. best translation a can think of this french word atm: 'prelude'
