Tuesday Notes (August 29)...
Good morning to everybody. I'm not quite fully awake now since I stayed up and played Final Fantasy III DS after getting home from watching Farewell My Concubine for East Asian Cinema class (that we didn't finish since the professor only reserved the screening room at the library for 2 1/2 hours, not 3). Anybody else gotten FF3 DS yet? I'll post my friend code for it later on today, so those that have it send me some mail through Mognet and maybe something good'll happen ;)

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS Details (via MOON PHASE)
Details from the current Megami magazine. It will be set 6 years later (Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate are 3rd year middle school students), following what we saw at the end of Nanoha A's. It seems they already had the idea for StrikerS laid out before A's started, then started work on it after A's finished. There will be a good bit of battling, but it won't be quite as much a focus as it was in A's. The Lost Logia will once again be a key item, but details on exactly what roles Hayate, Nanoha, and Fate will have still haven't been released. Staff is the same as A's, so no worries there.
So, they did go with the 6 years later setting... as I said in my entry in the last episode of Nanoha A's, the character design for older Fate and Nanoha is rather bimyou -- read: not too cute. Hayate's okay, and I assume that Vita and the rest of Wolkenritter will be back as well, and there will certainly be new characters, so it's not like I wouldn't watch ;) I would've liked to have seen what happened in those six years, though... And one other thing... given how Nanoha and Fate's transformation sequences were in A's, it makes one wonder what the transformation will be like in this setting 6 years later (^^;;)

Thinking about it, older Nanoha reminds me of Mizuki of Comic Party fame. I guess it has to do with the one-side ponytail or somethin'...
Anyway, really looking forward to the 3rd series! Hopefully, they'll have some flashbacks that will help bridge the six year gap from A's to StrikerS; should help the flow a little. That, or have a lot of fanservice to trick the fans out there ;)
More Story/Action, Less fanservice Plx.

Well, now it's no longer a loli-Sailor Moon, but rather, a full-fledged Sailor Moon..

As muchas I love Sailor Moon, it doesnt hold a candle to Nanoha. I would have liked to see the missing six years though; it's going to mess with the fans who have gotten use to seeing a series as it was, and now they have this whole new thing with their characters they loved changed. It's going to be weird.
Can we see the scans of what Megami had to say about StrikerS
Oh, thank the gods they're no longer loli. Although I wonder how this will affect the picture of them as the Black Lagoon girls? ;)
By the way, is this the issue of Megami with the Haruhi Harem (Haruhi, Tsuruya, Mikuru, Yuki, Ryoko, that supposed girlfriend of the computer club leader, and Kyon's Imoutu) Bunny Suit poster?
I'll be interested to see what the plot will be like and such. What I look for in particular with series I watch is decent plot ^^
Looks like Hayate's costume will be pretty much like she had in A's, but I'd expect Nanoha's and maybe Fate's to be quite a bit different.
I personally think the character designs have improved since the A's epilogue. At least Nanoha doesn't look like her side ponytail will make her fall over anymore. And hey, they get TSAB uniforms! Which actually look decent! Now if only they'd cut down on the fanservice... and do something so HayatexVita doesn't seem that weird again.
Man... get rid of the fanservice and action and what's the point? Ok, ok, it wouldn't be terrible, but it wouldn't particularly special, either. My biggest problem with the older character designs is Yuuno. And he was so cute when he was little.

I'll second the character designs not looking as bad now, but Fate's (my favorite character, of course) still bugs me, though Hayate's is tolerable. I don't care for Nanoha, so it doesn't matter to me much, but she still looks dumb.
It's not the same... though, more Nanoha is still great.
The cast of Nanoha series will be the same.
(But Tomokazu Sugita will voice Chrono in Strikers since A's last episode)
