Zero no Tsukaima 5

There's a presentation of the new tsukaima that the second year students have summoned coming up, so Saito needs to do something to show off his power... demonstrating how to wash pantsu won't work, Saito (^^;;) He could do something with Delfringer... but he wasn't able to do a thing at Count Mott's -- Louise mentions that it's rather odd that nothing's happened even though Saito did a thing like that.. anyways, he's got to come up with something... While Louise is in class, Siesta comes and talks to Saito, explaining that the princess of Tristein, Henrietta, is coming to the presentation of the tsukaima. Siesta tells Saito to try his best, obviously feeling a bit more for him after what he did last time ;)
That night, Miss Longbill talks to Mr. Colbell, who's guarding the school's vault. Miss Longbell has heard that Fouque the thief is targeting the school's treasure.. But no worries -- the vault door is protected by very strong magic, so it'd take quite a mage to force it open.
The next day, the students gather to welcome Yoshida-san Henrietta@Ayako Kawasumi. Saito thinks her pretty cute, and so do I ;) That night, as Saito tries to show Louise what he'll do for the tsukaima presentation a girl in a cloak knocks on the door... it's Henrietta. Start flashback -- Louise and Henrietta played together a lot when they were younger. Very cute :) They promised to help each other out when they were in trouble... Back to the present -- Henrietta came not only to see Louise, but to also see the tsukaima that tried to take on Count Mott. Seems that Henrietta kept her promise to help out Louise when she's in trouble, seeing to it that Louise wouldn't be punished by Count Mott for what Saito did. Henrietta has to leave, so she hugs Louise and tells Saito to try his best -- Saito acts cool, but that only gets Louise to pull out the whip again (^^;;)
The day of the presentation comes and Saito's still got nothing to show, so Louise tells him to just be quiet and hope everything goes well. Of course that doesn't happen -- Louise says her tsukaima is a commoner, and then Delfringar starts talking. While that's going on, Fouque the thief is making her move -- she can't break the spell on the vault door, so she summons a huge golem to try and break it by force. However, the walls of the school are protected by magic, too, so the golem can't break through.
Louise and Shana happen to be walking back from the presention and see the golem. Saito tells Louise to run away, but she stands with wand ready. Of course, her magic misses and hits the wall instead -- but it cracks it, even though the golem couldn't even do that... the golem smashes through the vault wall, Fouque takes the "Staff of Destruction" and gets away...
Osman looks at the vault wall where Fouque left her trademark message saying that she had taken the Staff of Destruction... Henrietta's got to go and report on the incident, so she bids farewell to Louise and Saito. Saito asks Louise why she didn't run away when he told her to. She's a mage -- mages don't abandon their tsukaima..
I suppose I was worrying a bit too much after last time since this time turned out just fine. The structure has been shuffled around a bit to bring Henrietta in (in the novel she doesn't appear until volume 2), and that worked well as a follow up to what happened last time. Henrietta's a lot cuter in the anime than she is in the novels, so GJ there. With Ayako Kawasumi in the mix now, we've got Shana, Yuuji, and Yoshida-san from Shana together, though Yoshida-san and Shana are friendly this time ;)
So Fouque now has the "Staff of Destruction". It's very obvious who Fouque is, and it was the same way in the novel. It was obvious who the bad guy was again in volume 2, but anyways... What could the Staff of Destruction be? Well... think about what happened last time ;) The setting for Saito's power has definitely been changed from the novel. In the novel the runes on his hand shine and the power activates when he picks up a weapon, but in the anime it must take more conditions to activate those powers (if you must know, Saito is the legendary tsukaima, Gandalv, able to wield any and all weapons with ease, and Delfringar was one of the weapons Gandalv used)... In the novels it still isn't clear as of volume 2 what Louise's power could be, but she's definitely got some powerful magic to break a magic-hardened wall that even Fouque's golem couldn't break..
Next time, it looks like we'll finish up things with Fouque for now. Wonder where they'll go after that episode, as I rather liked the end of volume 1 where Louise finally goes dere ;)

Seems like another great ZnT episode. Damn, i cant await to watch it!
omg! tell me how she acts dere at the end of volume 1 PLS!
7 47 4: Louise is omegakawaii in the illustration to go with that part at the end of volume 1 :) But you'll have to wait and see since I'm not telling ;)
