Thursday Notes (October 5)...
Feeling a lot better now, so I'm slowly getting back into the usual routine here and think I can get back started with the blogging again tonight :) I'm somehow going to do a wrap-up of all the stuff that ended last week, maybe separate entries, maybe one big entry just to catch up. As for the new shows, here's what I plan to watch (or have watched already), with things I intend to blog at this point in italics.

As usual, plans subject to change depening on how things go with each show over the next few weeks. Anyways, news...
Lucky☆Star Anime Planned
So KyoAni's next project is this, huh... I've heard of this before, but haven't read the manga (it's 4-koma) at all. Guess I'll have to check it out now :)

If it's by KyoAni it'll probably be hard for me not to like it, but 4-koma series are kind of hit or miss for me--I liked Azumanga but Sensei no Ojikan just put me to sleep at times. I think with 4-koma-to-anime it's hard to get the pacing right and not make it feel like you're just watching a bunch of 30-second gags one after the other.
Why can't some studio work on Yotsuba!?
Galaxy Angel II was...dull.
Pani Poni Negima!? totally. But I like it. Definitely seems a lot more stylish and fun than Negima!...
I also watched Pumpkin Scissors.. seems like it has potential, first episode was a bit slow.
I watched Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and actually... enjoyed it. Despite the stupidity of the premise and ugly character designs.
Downloaded but still to watch: Red Garden, that Crescent Love one that I'll probably never watch.
I will watch Happiness!. Because of Jun. I find Haruhi and Sumomo extremely dull. Koyuki's a little better and the white-haired one, whatever her name is, is ok. But Jun... Jun is adorable.
I'll also watch Otome wa Boku ni Koi shiteru for.. kind of the same reason. Man, it sure looks like Strawberry Panic.
Matthew's one of my main sources for recommendations, without him, I had to take the shotgun approach and just watch everything!
Can we get a link for the Lucky Star anime, even if it's in Japanese?
My first reaction to that announcement was something like "They could have made another season of Full Metal Panic or Haruhi, but instead they're doing this?" On reflection, however, it's good that they're (apparently) doing what they want to do instead of what fans are screaming for. I'm sure they had plenty of street cred after Fumoffu, Air, and TSR... and then they decided to animate some light novel series no one had ever heard of. "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu'utsu? Who'd want to watch that?"
Still... assuming they take a break of at least one season to plan the new show as they have previously, we won't be seeing any more Haruhi or FMP until October 2007 at the earliest. I know a lot of folks who won't be happy to hear that...
Hurray Mattew will blog anime again! Now I'll finally know what I should be watching.
