May 31, 2004Greed has taken Al away to his bar hideout and Al and Izumi and the military both chase after him. Greed, as expected, lives up to his name as he wants it all and thinks that Al can help him attain immortality by learning how Ed bound Al's soul to the armor. Izumi shows up to take back Al, but she's still not in very good condition and Greed is simply so strong that she can't do much of anything. Even Ed can't hurt Greed when he shows up. Greed is "The Ultimate Shield" as he says, but still has to make a run for it when the military and the Crimson Alchemist (who's been bought off by the military it seems) come to get him. Seems like Archer has some business with Ed as well. What could he want? Who knows ;)
FUNimation has opened a small teaser site for Fullmetal Alchemist. The show will be airing on Cartoon Network in October with DVD releases coming in 2005. They'd better not mess with it too much for the TV broadcast. FUNimation did a nice job with Fruits Basket so I hope they'll do the same with FMA :) (they'd better!)
Funimation will handle distributing the Fullmetal Alchemist cartoon in North America -- a cartoon that has already sold 51 episodes to Cartoon Network for an October air date.
If this is the case, then I'd expect it to be on Adult Swim. Hopefully they won't change things too much...
Edited 3:56AM: Animesuki has removed the FMA torrent listing from the site. We'll hafta see if someone will still sub it... else I'd better get to polishing up my Japanese a bit more.

So that kid is a homonculus.. there's also another hononculus that can use alchemy that's interested in getting that kid, too. But Archer and Armstrong get him and take him to their base there. Besides that, we learn why Izumi-sensei has been sick. She tried to do human alchemy like Ed and Al did and had to trade something in return, that being a few of her internal organs... I can understand why she's so protective of that kid now.
Scar's back for a bit this time with the Ishbal people, traveling to another place to hide out. However, a character y'all will remember from earlier tells his location to the military. Wonder what all those markings Scar was looking at in that house mean?
Next time looks like a big alchemist battle royale. Hope it lives up to the billing (with Ed kicking some butt!).

Lots of questions brought up this time. That boy that was on the island isn't a homonculus (at least I guess he isn't since he can do alchemy as Ed said), but.. whatever he is, he's got Ed's arm and leg that Ed traded back when he and Al tried to peform human alchemy. What the heck is that gate thing Ed saw then? That boy is one of those creatures that was there, I guess. And what's with sensei this time, too? And to add on to all of that, one of the homonculus is still at Central plotting something with the others, and one of the army officers is talking about a war.
There have been so many twists and turns in Fullmetal Alchemist that I have no idea what to expect anymore. But, hey, it makes it more interesting :)
Edited 11:27PM: Y'all drop by my friend Nyro's FMA site, Pure Alchemy Sanctum :)

It's time for Uninhabited Island Survive with Ed and Al! Their sensei has taken them to an island to spend a month to think over things, just as she did before she took them in as apprentices. Lots of flashbacks this time interwoven with current goings-on. The island is supposed to be uninhabited but... someone else is there. Looks like another one of the homonculus. Which of the seven deadly sins could this one be?
I'll throw in my thoughts about the new op/ed too since I haven't commented yet (But I'm not as good a music critic as BluWacky is). The op is "Undo" by Cool Joke. Never heard of 'em before. It's okay and the animation to go with it is fine, too. As for the ed, "Motherland" by Crystal Kei.. all of you Winry fans have gotten what you wanted, ne? ;) Song itself is okay. The melody in the chorus sounds like something I've heard before for some reason.... Anyways, both are neither extraordinary nor really bad, just average, I suppose. That's it for the music criticism today :)

Another episode I'd rather not remember..... Something rather big happened and that's all I'll say for now. I'll talk more next week's episode. It looks rather interesting.... Might we get a kokuhaku from someone?

After taking a break from the action for an episode we get some in this one. Seems there's some more conspiracy-ish stuff going on in the military as they've hired that group of prisoners who were in the lab as mercenaries to take care of a settlement of Ishbal people. The survivors move to the city and live in the sewers underground. Did I mention Scar is there with them? After running away from Ed, Al runs into a couple of kids from that settlement and goes down there and runs into Scar. As for Ed, he's with Winry looking around for Al with no success. When Ed and Al do get back together Ed finally asks Al that thing which he's been wanting to. It's not really that big a surprise or anything given what's happened. But it looks like the brothers are back on good relations :).. hmmm... I wonder who that person from the military that lightning-alchemist guy (he was one of the mercenaries) was talking to?

A few days late.. but, anyways, we've taken a break from the action in this episode. Ed is recovering in the hospital and Al is there with him (pondering his existence again). Winry comes back again to fix Ed's arm, but she doesn't get quite the warm reception since the relations between the brothers have gotten a bit worse. Al has finally convinced himself that he didn't exist as a human, that Ed just made up his memories. And he runs away.... Still don't know what the question Ed wanted to ask Al is. Maybe next time?

The story keeps on getting better and better :) Looks like this whole thing from the beginning has been all planned out by Lust and the rest of the homonculus, humans created by alchemy. They've been searching for someone who has enough power to create the Philosopher's Stone and turn them into real humans. And Edward would be that person.. Tucker agreed to work with them in exhange for learning how to create the homonculus so he could bring back Nina... ugh, just thinking about that makes me sick... with the Lust having Al as prisoner there's not much Ed can do besides do as they wish.. or maybe not. Scar steps in to help Ed and Al make an escape from the lab... but Lust & Co. get away, too. Next episode looks really interesting. Looks like we'll finally hear that question that Ed wanted to ask Al..
