Fine and Rein ignore Camelot and Lulu as they try to convince both of them to put forth some effort for the last Princess Party of the year in the Windmill Kingdom. They still haven't won.. but neither has Altessa, who's busy practicing her steps. Mean while, Shade and Tio follow Bright's airship to the Windmill Kingdom...
At the Windmill Kingdom's castle, the other princesses are practicing for the Best Dance Princess Princess Party. Leonne's in her samba outfit :) Fine and Rein seem to have forgotten their dresses, so Pumo gets to work sewing. Auler goes to ask Altessa if she'll be his dance partner, but she refuses, saying there's only one person for her -- Bright, of course. Fine and Rein go to Shade to ask him to be their dance partner. He doesn't really want to do it, but he grabs Rein and starts dancing with her. Fine seems to be feeling a bit of jealousy here, seeing Rein happily dance with Shade and hearing Sophie and Leonne say that they make a good couple. Rein and Shade finish dancing, so it's Fine turn -- but she says she'll look for a partner herself. Tio asks Fine to be his partner...
While practicing Altessa seems to have hurt her ankle. One of the castle's maids gives her a message from someone... Fine spins Tio around wildly, ramming into Pumo and tearing up the dresses he had just finishing making for Fine and Rein, eventually spinning so fast that he spins away. Well, so much for Tio... but he'll be a good partner for Sophie and her Windmill Spiral (^^;;) Shade spots Bright and follows him out of the ballroom... Fine sees Naruro and follows him, crawling on the ground. He crawls to Milky, seemingly asking her to dance with him. Oi, y'all are a bit young.... Rein finds another partner to dance with, Prince Solo of the Seed Kingdom. She tosses him from hand to hand, eventually tossing him a bit too high... Leonne's practicing her limbo dance when Solo falls into her hand. Seems like they'll be good dance partners :)

キタコレ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━ !!
The Futago Hime website was updated today with a promo image for the next season of Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime, titled Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime Gyu!. It's scheduled to start April 1st. First off... what the heck are those little fairy-like things? If there's one thing I don't like about mahou shoujo, it's annoying mascots (see Pretty Cure). Hopefully that won't be the case... Anyways, that aside I'm just a bit excited that it's now officially announced. Can't wait to see it! :)

Everybody, Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime is about to start! When watching Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime, make sure to keep your room brightly lit and sit as far away from the TV as you can! Now, now, now, have you ever had to...
Ahem... little Kaleido Star parody there since this episode is pretty much a Kaleido Star episode ;) (For those that don't know, Futago Hime's director, Jun'ichi Satou, also directed Kaleido Star)
Anyways, the gang heads to the Seed Kingdom to get the kingdom's Grace Stone, but as they approach in the airship the Seed Kingdom princesses motion for them to not come any closer. The king orders his men to shoot, but thankfully Camelot and Lulu are there in their airship to take the barrage. After getting away, everybody sits down to talk about what to do next. With King King (yes, his name is King) having been deceived by Bright (in addition to being an idiot in the first place), they'll have to search for the stone themselves. So it's time for some fortunetelling with the Fortulette -- the number is 2. Two for Futago Hime? Altessa tells them to give her the Grace Stone if they have it (^^;;) Tio, actually being helpful for once, says it must mean the village of Futagi ("two trees"), so they head off.
When they arrive they see a circus tent -- it's the Miracle Troupe, a traveling circus. Fine and Rein run to the tent since they want to see the circus and look inside. The performers seem to be practicing a new trick, but it doesn't seem to be going well and the manager seems pretty frustrated. A white lion girl (like Leonne), Nacchi@Yuuko Sasamoto, apologizes to her colleagues for things turning out like this. Nacchi hears Fine and Rein being loud outside, so she goes to the entrace. Fine really wants to see the trapeze... Nacchi tells them that the troupe might break up, and that it's all her fault. She performed the trapeze, but half a year ago she had an accident and hurt herself. After that, she couldn't get on the trapeze no matter what... without a trapeze act less and less people came to see the circus, until no one came at their last stop. Of course, after hearing that Fine and Rein want to do all they can to help out. Altessa objects, but Shade comes back in and says to let them do it... Bright has made his way to the Seed Kingdom, asking where the Miracle Troupe is -- he heads to Futagi village...
Fine and Rein's special training for Nacchi starts. Fine's thought up a new act -- eating ramen while balancing on a ball (^^;;) Fine says she'll show Nacchi the basics, but Fine can't even balance on the ball (^^;;)

Altessa, Fine, and Rein head towards the Moon Kingdom on their airship (Shade and Tio are riding there on their mounts below) to meet Moon Maria and obtain the kingdom's Grace Stone. Fine and Rein think it'll be pretty easy since Moon Maria trusts them, so they do the rakuchin ("easy") dance... for some reason the dance doesn't seem to fit the word all that well to me ;) They drag Altessa into it.. who knows what they did to her (^^;;)
As they get closer to the castle, the moon is covered in darkness. The power of darkness must be growing stonger... Shade rushes in to see his mother -- she's in a deep sleep. She's the only one that knows the where the kingdom's Grace Stone is. There doesn't seem to be a way to cure here.. Fine and Rein think about using the Prominence, but if they forcefully wake her up it'll only make things worse. However, if they can find the very rare Full Moon Herb they could cure her. It grows on the back of a turtle that lives in the desert. Shade, worried about his mother, asks Rein to stay behind and watch over her. Fine wonders if Shade thinks that Rein is more reliable than she is...
Altessa, Fine, Shade, Tio, and Pumo head out into the desert to search for a turtle big enough to have a full-grown Full Moon Herb. While taking a break to have some Sunny Drops (candy) that Fine brought along, a big turtle comes by and starts eating the candy. Tio tries to capture it, but this isn't any ordinary turtle -- it vanishes instantly, then comes flying out of the sky, landing a kick right on Tio's head, then scurries away. Ouch (^^;;) Next, Fine tries using the strongest weapon she has, the Feather Myuugram, to make the turtle dance. The turtle uses the spinning to its advantage and spins away. Next, they set up a trap, using the Sunny Drops as bait. It falls into the trap hole, but it spins up and out and gets away again. Altessa then offers the turtle one her rings, but the turtle doesn't find it yummy at all, spitting it out... Pumo then tries telling a sob story about how his family needs the Full Moon Herb... doesn't work, of course. The turtle runs away and Fine chases after it -- but she falls into her own trap (^^;;)

Miruro takes care of Naruro since her father is having a checkup and her mother is busy taking care of paperwork and other royal duties. Thanks to Altessa, Naruro repeatedly says "gabin" over and over again... suddenly, an airship goes flying by outside and crashes into the castle moat. It's Fine, Rein, and Altessa (^^;;) They all meet up with Miruro (Shade and Tio happen to be there as well), saying they want to see the queen to ask her about the kingdom's Grace Stone. As you'd expect, Queen Yarmul is not going to give the Grace Stone to Fine and Rein, who she thinks made the mess with the water back in episode 34 that got Miruro and Naruro's clothes dirty. And she's not going to give it to Altessa either since she's the reason Naruro's learned to say "gabin". Shade tries to convince her, but it's no use.. Miruro starts to speak up, but as usual she can't say anything.. Bright then shows up, saying that she can't trust the Moon Kingdom because of the incident with the chancellor, asking her to give the Grace Stone to him for safekeeping. She says she'll do it, but Naruro jumps on her and keeps on saying "gabin" over and over again, as if he's trying to tell her something. The queen goes to retrieve the Grace Stone, telling Miruro to take care of the castle while she's out. Bright asks if he could teach Naruro how to speak...
Bright and Bumo figure that all they need to do is teach Naruro to say "Mama" in place of "gabin", so Bright takes him to a large portrait of his mother, telling him to say "Mama". Naruro says "gabin". Bright tries again: "Mama". "gabin"... Bright and Bumo get increasingly pissed off as Naruro says nothing but "gabin". And then they make him cry... but he gets happy again using Bumo as a plaything. And then... well, he does what babies do, so it's time for a change which neither Bright nor Bumo want to have anything to do with. They run away, leaving Fine, Rein, and Altessa with Naruro. They have no idea how to change a diaper. But Shade does, of course, having taken care of Milky all this time (he's perfect at everything, ain't he?). Shade goes to chase after Bright... Meanwhile, Miruro is going around the castle doing her duties, but she's worried about Naruro... Naruro starts crying again -- seems like he wants some milk this time.

And yet more Futago Hime to start off this year's anime blogging ;)
Fine and Rein do a dance to celebrate the new year (of course). Altessa is there with them since she can't go back home... poor thing :( In the Flame Kingdom... Leonne tries to convince her father to give the kingdom's Grace Stone to Fine and Rein, but like all of the other stupid kings and queens he's been tricked by Bright and tells Leonne not to see Fine and Rein again. Leonne goes to the library to investigate where the Grace Stone could be...
After finding out that Bo Dragon has it, she tells Fine, Rein, and Altessa about it. Apparently they've got to make Bo Dragon laugh to get the Grace Stone... the upcoming annual new year's variety show might be good. Using Pumo as bait, they lure Bo Dragon to the stage, where he sits down quiety. Must like this kinda stuff.. The king shows up rather surprised to see Bo Dragon there. Apparently, long ago the people of the Flame Kingdom did the same kind of show to entertain Bo Dragon. Only problem was that he didn't like anything he saw, so he got mad and burned the place down. Took the kingdom more than 10 years to rebuild... that's nice to know (^^;;)

The show starts with Fine and Rein... yup, go figure they'd do something like this... Bo Dragon is not pleased (^^;;)

Up next is Leonne with some flame baton twirling. Very nice :) But Bo Dragon is still not pleased... The king and Tio go afterwards, both doing pretty stupid things that nobody finds amusing at all :P Bo Dragon seems to be getting pissed off, saying (Leonne translating) what he's seen is all boring....

Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime ~ Lovely Kingdom ~ by Mayuki Anan
Ciao Comics
And finishing up the Futago Hime stuff I got... a just a bit different Futago Hime than the one we know (^^;;)
![]()
Here's Fine and Rein. Style is pretty much standard shoujo, pretty well done. Everybody seems older than they do in the anime...
![]()
...Rein-chan, how old are you again? 8, right? Isn't that look a bit, well.... (^^;;;) Of course, Eclipse is a bishie now.
![]()
あんた...誰?
anta... dare? (Who are you?)
It says Miruro, but this definitely isn't the Miruro we all know and love in the anime to say the least (^^;;;) She's the bad guy in the manga... causing trouble for Fine and Rein with some kinda magic she has. It's almost if her and Altessa switched personalities. Altessa seems more like a good little sister now. The other princesses don't really do much, so I dunno about them...
The basic flow from the anime still goes for the manga, Miruro does something bad (or something else happens), Fine and Rein use the Prominence to fix things, so on. The story's completely different from the anime, though. Miruro's the one that starts the princess parties since she's the type that wants to show that she's best among other things...
From what I've read elsewhere, the Bright->Fine->Eclipse->Rein->Bright stuff should be coming in the next volume. Anyways, an interesting different take on Futago Hime... though a bit rough to read for Miruro fans like myself (^^;;)
![]()
And this has absolutely nothing to do with Futago Hime, but... there was an insert in there for Chuchu, and there was this about a manga Yuu Yabuuchi's doing (remember her? Naisho no Tsubomi). It's called "Anicon", as in "big brother [but not related by blood in this case] complex" (^^;;;)
Now that I was finally able to use the scanner... to make up for the lack of a Futago Hime episode yesterday a quick look at the Futago Hime Himitsu Jiten and Futago Hime Character Detail Book :)
![]()
The Himitsu Jiten is a board book with info on each of the princesses (and other characters)and kingdoms. It's written in hiragana/katakana only (even has hiragana furigana above the katakana), suitable for Futago Hime's target age range.
![]()
The Character Detail Book is for a decidedly different audience. I think I'll introduce an expression here... The little kids that go to see events aimed at them (like kigurumi shows and such) are called otomodachi ("friends") by the people that do them, so the "big kids" (otaku) that go to them are ooki na otomodachi ("big friends"). It's also used to refer to otaku that watch shows/read manga meant for a younger audience (for example, those that read Naisho no Tsubomi). This book is for ooki na otomodachi ;) Anyways, back to things... the inside flap of the jacket has the first two henshin sequences. Nice ;)
![]()
First up is character intros for Fine and Rein (along with a bit of helpful criticism Pumo has for them). kawaii~
![]()
And after that, "Dress Up!", all of the dresses Fine and Rein have transformed into, along with other fashions (swimsuits, etc.). kawaii~ (didn't I already say that?)
![]()
4 pages of nothing but step-by-step explanations of how to do all the 20 dances Fine and Rein did in the first 28 episodes of the show follow (^^;;) And after that, info on all the toys items Fine and Rein use, a guide to their room, a walkthrough of how they leveled up (and down), and a page about the princess parties.
What better way to blog on Christmas than do a Christmas episode of Futago Hime? Blogging will resume Monday (...or Tuesday if I get too busy playing RE4 and such..) with Nanoha and another combined entry, plus more Futago Hime stuff. Anyways, a Merry Christmas to all of y'all out there! Let's hear what y'all got over in the shoutbox ;)

The gang heads to Coral Town to visit Pearl-chan once again. But something seems to be wrong, as there's a blackness near the Mother Coral.. anyways, how are they supposed to get to Pearl's castle? Camelot and Lulu are back cosplaying, ready with a submarine. Camelot had to use the money she was saving up to use for her and Naginyo's wedding... (^^;;;;) With the submarine, Fine, Rein (I'll explain when I blog the Character Detail Book... orz), Altessa, and Pumo head to Pearl's castle... could've just used telepumotion, though (^^;;)
Bright and Bumo are already on the scene searching for the Grace Stone. Black fish are swarming around the Mother Coral, causing the blackness that Fine, Rein, and Altessa saw. Bumo heard there was a Grace Stone in the Sea Kingdom so it must be true... After the black fish leave Pearl-chan takes out a stone said to cause miracles, the Mother Coral's Teardrop. However, Bright, thinking it the Grace Stone steals it... Fine and Rain arrive soon after, and Pearl-chan explains what happened... Meanwhile, Bright and Bumo realize that what they took isn't a Grace Stone. Bright, before blaming Bumo for everything why not look at yourself? :P Another swarm of black fish rush around Fine, Rein, Pearl, and the rest. Time for Fine and Rein to do their thing....

Order from HLJ arrived just in time for Christmas, so here's the Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime Twinkle Princess figure set ;) In my box were: 2 Altessas, Miruro, Leonne, 2 Fines, 2 Reins, so I got a complete set (Maestro gets the doubles).
Fine
![]()
Princess Fine in her Eternal Solar Princess dress. kawaisu~ :)
Rein
![]()
And Princess Rein as well. kawaisu :)
Altessa
![]()
Altessa's easy to pick out since with her big hair her box is the heaviest :P Would've preferred her in her travel outfit, but anyways...
Leonne
![]()
kawaisu! Cat tooth is properly there though you can't really see it in the pic :) Though the dress could use some work... imprints of the flame on her dress are colored/not colored, so it looks kinda not right...
Miruro
![]()
Miruro kawaisu~ :) Though a figure of her in that pose from the 2nd ending would be even cuter ;)
So there's Futago Hime twinkle princess. Not too bad :) Now when's the set with Princess Sophie and Milky, etc., going to be out?
