Fine and Rain still want to stretch out what's left of their vacation so they convince Pumo to let them land and look around a bit. Nothing much where they are besides pasture land and windmills. Someone on the road's telling two kids about a haunted house nearby.... Rain would love to visit; Fine not so much. The clouded-over skies finally open up and the rain comes, causing Rain, Fine, and Pumo to look for shelter in a rather run down old house off in a forest nearby... no one seems to be there... there's a sound... could it be? Fine wants to leave; Rain wants to stay. A ghost appears and tries to scare both of them. He's not very scary at all, though (^^;;)

His name's Wally, and he's the ghost who's supposed to be haunting this house. Though since he's not very good at scaring people he's called the most un-ghost-like ghost in the history of the Mysterious Planet. Sounds very familiar, doesn't it? ;) Tio (sounding much less squeakier than usual) shows up and Wally tries to scare him, but it doesn't work as usual and Tio leaves, unharmed for once. So Fine and Rain agree to help Wally out and make the house a bit more scary... so after sufficiently spooking up things, they get some ginuea pigs to test things out -- Sophie and Auraa, along with Altessa and Bright. Fine and Rain lead them in then sneak off to make all the good scary stuff happen. And scare people they do, very well :) Wally gets so excited that he goes off to scare everyone before he's supposed to and ends up getting trapped underneath a carpet along with everyone else. Well, that didn't work (^^;;) So it's Prominence time as usual. All sorts of creepy things come -- a creaky piano, a walking suit of armor, etc., etc...

Fine and Rain beg their parents to let them take a vacation to the beach -- for princess training, of course ;) Their parents give the okay and it's off to Coral Town in the Windmill Kingdom. And guess what? Nagi's there singing nonsense and charming the ladies as usual :P After Fine and Rain arrive at the beach it starts raining, though... and they had come there to see the shooting stars and to make wishes upon them. Oh well.. iya-iya dance time ;) A voice comes out of nowhere and speaks to them. It's coming from a shell -- the shell opens, and out comes a little girl -- she's Pearl, princess of the Sea Kingdom, and she can't leave people who aren't happy alone. She'll take them to see the shooting stars in the sea. In the sea?

They all head to Pearl's castle where they meet all of her rather interesting friends. Her parents, the king and queen, are off in distant seas fulfilling their duty to protect it, but since she's got all her friends there, she's happy. So it's off in a sub of some sort to see the shooting stars, with the penguin, Captain Pegi, at the helm. Along the way Fine and Rain see the wonderful sights of the sea. But deeper in the ocean a coral reef is dying since the light of the sun doesn't reach it anymore. Pearl sings a song, with Fine and Rain joining in -- though they can't do anything else, they seem to be rather talented when it comes to musical things -- and the coral gets its color back.

Added: Kono-san's got a cute animated gif of Miruro :)

The evil chancellor of the Moon Kingdom is once again plotting with his minions. Having the Moon Kingdom isn't enough for him, of course -- he wants something a little bit bigger...

Back in the Sun Kingdom, Fine and Rain learn some rather surprising news. There's an announcement in the paper about Princess Miruro of the Water Drop Kingdom being engaged. After running around (such high tension to start this time, wow) and doing the bikkuri dance they go right to Pumo and it's off to the Water Drop Kingdom to see what's going on. On the way we learn that Miruro is two years older than Fine and Rain (they're 8), so she would be 10. Rain goes into her own little world again and fantasizes about getting married to Bright two years down the road... and they all end up landing in the Water Drop Kingdom castle's moat (^^;;)

After drying off Fine and Rain go to greet everyone. The queen is the big lady there, Yarmul, the king, Panpu (all the kings seem to be on the small side...), and the little baby Naruro. Fine and Rain end up making faces to amuse Naruro instead of being proper, of course... they congratulate Miruro on her engagement, but Miruro doesn't seem to want to say much about it... Fine and Rain start teasing her since she won't say much about who she's marrying other than that he's named Estevan. Said Estevan makes his entrance... driving a little toy car. He's a kid. Younger than Miruro (^^;;) Estevan's very suspicious-looking tutor also comes in....

Fine and Rain head off to the Jewel Kingdom to watch the balloon race between the Jewel Kingdom and the Windmill Kingdom. Of course they went off without doing any of the homework Camelot gave them :P They make a rather hard landing as usual and meet up with Sophie and the prince of the Windmill Kingdom, Auraa (straight romanization, I haven't thought of a good way to write it). He seems to like Altessa..... I don't understand why (^^;;;). Altessa's there as well, and she and Sophie get along just wonderfully as usual. The queen and king of both the Windmill Kingdom and the Jewel Kingdom exchange some rather heated words as the time comes for the race to start. It's definitely not the fun race it used to be...

So it's Bright x Altessa of the Jewel Kingdom vs. Sophie x Auraa of the Windmill Kingdom. The race course itself is an obstacle course like something straight out of a videogame. Looks rather dangerous to me (^^;;) Auraa passes Bright, but Bright seems to have gotten some passion in him since fighting with Eclipse last time so he takes risks to finally catch back up. Suddenly, a strong breeze from the giant windmill on the castle that makes wind for the entire planet comes and blows both balloons, and Fine and Rain's balloon as well towards Crystal Mountain where they all crash.

Since Princess Sophie from the Windmill Kingdom and Princess Miruro of the Water Drop Kingdom FINALLY, FINALLY, got a proper introduction this time, and also because of the 神作画, I feel obligated to cap more than usual (though not up to moyism standards). I'll say more than usual as well so y'all can get a feel for how Sophie and Miruro are. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun watching and rather enjoyed this episode. Be warned that I'm in the mood to use a lot of big red text today ;)

Camelot and Lulu send Fine and Rain off to the Seed Kingdom to participate in the next Princess Party. This time it's an athletic competition so Fine has a chance of winning... maybe :P And Fine gets so excited that, as usual, she almost crashes the balloon, but thankfully Princess Sophie@Rina Satou saves them.

キター!ソフィーついにしゃべったあぁぁ!!
kitaaa! Sophie tsui ni shabettaa! (Sophie finally spoke!!)

Sophie introduces herself and says she's happy to become friends with the most un-princess-like pr(ry

ソフィーちゃん面白い!
Sophie-chan omoshiroi! (Sophie-chan's funny!)

Altessa's there as well, and Sophie says "Waa, pretty"... she's not talking about Altessa, she's talking about some flowers nearby. Altessa calls her an airhead (basically), saying she couldn't be best princess. Sophie says she'd like to be best princess once, wouldn't Altessa, too? So she and Altessa will do their best even though they're going to be on the losing end of things. Wow.. Sophie's something to be able to piss Altessa off that much, even though she is an airhead like Altessa says, ain't she? More of that to come later on ;)

Until I actually write this up, have a look at Eclipse if he were to do the "Prominence Dress Up!" thing, courtesy of Kono-san.... Yeah, definitely NG (^^;;)

Well, I thought that Fine and Rain were going to learn Eclipse's true identity this time, but that didn't turn out to be the case.

浮気はだめだよ、レインちゃん!!
Uwaki wa dame da yo, Rein-chan!! (You can't cheat [on Prince Bright], Rain-chan!!)

And I thought Rain was set on getting Prince Bright, but it seems she'll take any guy so long as he's a handsome prince. She's overjoyed that Moon Maria suggests that Shade go with them to the ruins, but Fine, actually thinking through things for once, says they'll be fine by themselves (since Shade would interfere with them looking around for possible clues about the Sun's Blessing weakening).

The evil chancellor -- still unnamed, btw -- and his minions continue to plot to learn how the prominence works and use it to take over not only the Moon Kingdom, but the entire Mysterious Planet. Prince Shade knows what's going on, of course, so he's been going out as Eclipse to presumably stop them, but this time someone sees him make the change from Shade to Eclipse -- his little sister, Princess Milky. However, unlike what you might have thought, Eclipse is a very gentle onii-chan and only tells her to keep it a secret.

After waking up from dreams of Cinderella (Rain) and gingerbread houses (Fine), Rain and Fine receive an invitation to come to the Moon Kingdom for the Full Moon Festival from their parents. They go there at once, but something's amiss as Moon Maria says no invitation was sent. Cue the iya-iya dance, then the arigatou dance (together with Milky) after Moon Maria says they can stay for the festival anyways. Fine, Rain, and Milky head out to the festival and have some fun -- well, more like Fine and Milky eat everything in sight (^^;;) However, they're called back to the castle where Moon Maria tells them something's wrong. Black clouds are covering the moon, and if the moonlight doesn't get through then Monmon Golem, the being that provides the energy to the kingdom won't awaken and they'll be covered in darkness. Fine and Rain immediately decide to take action... it seems there's a conspiracy behind the scenes, however, as a group of hooded figures seem to be the ones responsible for the clouds covering the moon -- as the moon's power weakens so does Moon Maria's. And if they can figure out the secret of Fine and Rain's prominence power then nothing can stop them. One of them seems to be the chancellor...

The chancellor takes Fine and Rain to the ruins where Monmon Golem sleeps. Fine sets off a few traps along the way, but someone saves her from falling... they arrive to find Monmon Golem very much asleep. And they find it very cute as well, so...

Fine and Rain play the harpsichord for their parents... and very well, I should say. How the heck did that happen? (^^;;)... but they start to drift apart, and finally ask to play separately. Seems they haven't made up yet after what happened last time and refuse to work with each other. Pumo blames his own lack of strength and resolve for Fine and Rain not getting along, so he sets out to seek training under a supposed kung-fu master.

But when he arrives... and old man shows up and he acts nothing like a kung-fu master or master of anything. But Pumo still holds out hope that he can learn something... back at the castle, Fine wakes up and finds a note left by Pumo telling her where he went. Rain's nowhere to be found, so she sets off by herself to find a boat. And at the docks, she runs into Rain, already there to go look for Pumo. But they're not going to ride in one boat, of course. Cue the useless Prince Tio making yet another meaningless appearance as the boats set off :P

As for Pumo.. he finally finds out that the master there hasn't been training anybody for say, 20 or 30 years, so he goes off to train on his own. Fine and Rain arrive, still as mad at each other as ever, asking where Pumo is. The master says he's not there, so Fine and Rain search separately, of course -- he bounds off to go search by himself. Maybe he actually is a kung-fu master...

We left off last time with Fine taking an unexpected ride off with Eclipse. There's no telling what Eclipse could be doing to Fine, so Pumo and Rain hurry up and try to track them down in the forest. They hear what seems to be Fine, but it seems to be something else...

Eclipse's dino goes a bit wild, throwing Fine off and finally stopping at the river, calming down. Eclipse feeds it, and Fine wants to do the same, asking its name and trying to feed it food. Eclipse walks off so Fine follows. He's gathering wood, so Fine offers to help out. While running around gathering wood, Fine's hand happens to touch Eclipse's... she gets rather red. Her heart starts beating faster. She's always wanted to talk to him... She asks why he always appears in front of them. His gaze meets hers, making her heart beat that much faster. She doesn't know why... her stomach grumbles before she can get anything out, though. Thankfully, there are some bananas on a tree nearby, so Fine uses her monkey skills to climb up and fetch them... forgetting that she doesn't have a tail anymore (^^;) Eclipse catches her, making her get all red again and her heart beat faster. Her heart must be weird or something, she thinks. Nope Fine, nothing's wrong, I believe what you're feeling is love~ ;)

Meanwhile, Rain and Pumo are still searching for Fine when Prince Bright shows up out of nowhere. He's there to check things out since he's heard some rather bad things about the forest -- travelers that have gone through have had rather bad things happen to them. Bright puts Rain on his horse, and away they go.

Fine and Eclipse seem to have lost their way, so Eclipse tells Fine to stay put while he finds the way back. Fine absolutely won't do that, begging Eclipse to take her along. She says that the dino must be scared too. Regina? She's not as much a scaredycat as Fine is. He's not a bad person at all, she thinks -- he must have a reason for his actions...

Fine and Rain head off to the Seed Kingdom this time, and the first thing they do there is... not go to the castle, but look around at the itty bitty village. And almost destroy it ;) They notice a group of itty bitty residents doing some kind of rain dance. Fine says that it'd be better without rain... and the big tree, the Mother Tree, shines and Fine turns into a monkey. As Pumo says, it fits her much too well ;)

A group of monkeys comes running by, and one them grabs monkey Fine and takes her away. The king and his battalion come up after them, mistaking Rain for a monster (how could such a cute girl be a monster?), but the 11(!) princesses tell him who she really is. One of the princesses explains the situation: It hasn't rained in a while there, so the plants that grow in the summer can't be made by the Mother Tree. And since Fine said it'd be better without rain... the Mother Tree must've not liked that and turned her into a monkey. The monkeys are stealing food from the town and causing problems... But guess who's here to save Fine.. yes, Tio, the absolutely useless prince of the Flame Kingdom. He doesn't stay too long, however, falling off a ledge and getting stuck on a tree ;)
