From Anime News Network:

According to GATV, ShoPro Entertainment, Viz LLC's sister company, has acquired the licenses for Konjiki no Gash Bell !!, which will be known in states as ZatchBell, and Monkey Turn. It should be noted that despite being Viz's sister company, not all ShoPro titles are released by Viz (Sonic X for example).

...suppose this means I won't be catching up on Gash anymore. I'll still be watching the current eps raw, though. Guess this means I won't be able to finish the Demonic Mirror arc with Shion. Darn.. Anyways, what the heck is "ZatchBell"? And if they're bringing the anime over shouldn't Viz acquire the manga as well? Having the manga translated doesn't matter to me since I can always buy the Japanese manga, but for y'all out there that don't read Japanese... Anyways, I hope they have an uncut Japanese DVD. I'd buy 'em :) And, dang it, no 3 episodes per DVD like Inuyasha, please! And don't take forever to release them, too! A lot of people over here have yet to hear Folgore's song and see him dance, you know ;)

I'm required to blog any episode where Folgore or his song make an appearance so here you are ;)

Shion, Nyarurato, Gash, and Kiyomaro head to Gurisa's to put back the three pieces of the demonic mirror back together so Shion's wish can be granted. After talking a bit they head off to some ruins outside the city to perform the ritual to join the pieces together... dance to Folgore's song... some kinda ritual, I hafta say ;) Didn't somebody say they wanted to see Kiyomaro do the dance? Let's sing along!

Chichi chichi oppai!

Boin boin!

Moge moge moge!

Even though it means doing the embarassing dance, Kiyomaro can't refuse helping out such a kawaii gal as Shion, ne? Okay, enough fun with that ;)

The demonic mirror is back together and Gurisa runs off with it so he can get his wish. damasareta! Looks like a fight next time. This story better not end on a sad note... though it probably will, just like with Koruru *sigh*.

Kiyomaro, Gash, Megumi, and Tio head off to South America to the ruins where Roodo has been hiding out. Apollo is there to help them out a bit and sends them off to the ruins. Guess who they run into there? Our good ol' friends Kanchome and Folgore who've been sent to help out by the nazo-nazo hakase. Seems Kanchome can be of help to Kiyomaro. Really? Well, he actually does turn out to be helpful in the end :) And yes, in case you were wondering, Folgore's song played a couple of times and even Biggu Boin showed up during the dance ;)

I'll also note that the ending changed to "Tsuyogari" this time. Pretty good and not one English word in it ;)

Konjiki no Gash Bell!! 31

That was quick ;) Time to start a new story. Gash finds a mirror in a lake while catching Yellowtail and takes it home as his "treasure". At Kiyomaro's school a very kawaii transfer student has come, Hibiki Shion (she reminds me of Neneko from Yumeria. And are those nekomimi?), along with her cat Nyarurato. No cats at school, but the sensei makes an exception. Hey, he brought his wife... ahem, what she was doing was very inappropriate for school, you know. Well, it's still not as bad as Biggu Boin ;)(screencap from the 2nd opening. actually only heard her mentioned in one ep I've watched)

Anyways, Nyarurato takes a liking to Gash and Shion seems to like Kiyomaro as well so they all walk home from school together and chat a bit. But another person with a book and a demon has come looking for that mirror Gash has. Apparently, it's a demonic mirror of some sort and they need it for something. Oh yeah.. the demon is a pair of scissors and a tube of paste put together. Hoee? Who comes up with the ideas for all the demons in this show? ;) Kiyomaro and Gash figure out a way to stop them so that threat is gone for now. But another's right there... seems Shion might not be as nice as we think. Maybe. Find out next time ;)

The ending changed to "STARS" this time. I'd still say I like the first better, probably ;)

As an aside on the language part of it, I'd seen 時を刻む toki wo kizamu (in the song, the kanji is actually 時間 jikan, but the furigana is とき toki) a few times before, but the meaning of 刻む I knew as "to carve, inscribe" didn't make sense so I looked it up. With this usage it means "to tick away" (not "carve" as it's translated). For those of y'all that want to know ;)

Continuing with the fight with the "fuglys" from last time, Megumi and Tio have come to help out Kiyomaro and Gash. And man, is Tio pissed that they interrupted her date with Kiyomaro ;) The Kiyomaro/Gash and Megumi/Tio combo win in the end since the "fuglys" fight amongst themselves.

...But Tio still doesn't get to ride the jet coaster with Kiyomaro since she's too short. Looks like she's more interested in Gash, actually, since she went through the trouble of making a bentou for him (and she's blushing a lot of the time). She's pretty sweet.. Just don't cross her ;)

btw, I'll be blogging episode 59 next week since I think I'm required to blog any episode in which Folgore and Kanchome appear. Remember the song? ;)

I'm on something of a dual track with this show. I'm catching up watching the subbed episodes (through 29 now) and watching the episodes that are on now (starting from 53) at the same time. Somewhat confusing, but anyways.. ;)

Patty is back with a vengeance (Gash and Kiyomaro beat her a couple of episodes ago) this time with three of the demons from the previous battle 1,000 years ago who ロード (roodo) revived. It's a tough fight for Gash and Kiyomaro as the demons are pretty darn powerful, and going against three at one time makes it that much harder. The demons who were revived have human partners, too. They're being controlled by Roodo and forced to fight. Gash will have none of that since he remembers what Koruru (the cute pink demon from a while back) had to go through, so he and Kiyomaro continue to fight. However, the three demons attack all at once, and just before they're about to be hit, Megumi and Tio show up (those defensive spells of theirs are quite helpful, ne?). Looks like they'll learn a new spell next time, too.

And more Engrish! The 2nd ending, "Stars", has a bit of it (but not as bad an offender as say, Loosey). 真実はRhythm Nation shinjitsu wa Rhythm Nation, "The truth/reality is Rhythm Nation". That's not that bad, I guess ;) And does everybody use ☆ instead of 星 (hoshi) in lyrics these days? I think I like the first ending "PERSONAL" a bit better. Anyways, I'm glad they put the lyrics there so I can understand the songs a bit more easily :)
