How many of y'all followed directions this time and watched in a bright room away from your computer screen since Buchou told you to this time? Scary ;)

The Narutakisou gang packs up.. well, Momono gives Shiratori a huge heavy bag of something to haul.. they head to a park to enjoy the fall colors. They run into a bit of trouble all getting there -- Asami and Sayoko missed the train, then when they did get on one they missed their stop -- but they finally do arrive and are ready to have some fun. For Asami and Sayoko, fun is looking at all the money thrown into the fountain and wishing they could have it. Sayoko actually grabs some and tries to give it to Asami, but Asami made some kind of scary face -- would've liked to see that ;) And they also gathering nuts, putting them in the cardboard boxes they brought along. In Momono's case, "fun" means drinking.. a lot.. Johnny kept count: more than 21 cans, eventually emptying out the huge pack Shiratori lugged there. Thankfully, Kozue brought along something to eat, including umeboshi, of course.

Skipping the opening this time, we go straight to the Narutakisou gang, sans Sayoko and Asami, having a meal, with Tamami and Momono having their usual fight over food. Sayoko and Asami eventually come up as Kozue wonders how they're doing. Momono says they're probably doing okay since the place they're staying at is a like a hotel according to Asami. They might not even come back... Shiratori says they'll be back..

Back at the Minazuki mansion, Asami gets ready to go to school. After a bump in with Tachibana she asks about Sayoko again. She's already up and busy, so Asami has breakfast with Mahiru. Asami asks Sakura the same question. After panicking Sakura says she already ate, then proceeds to stuff food down Asami's throat... She heads off to school, and there, Sacchan and Micchan are more than a bit surprised to see her arrive in such a fancy car.

Sayoko has another talk with her parents, Yuu-chan and Ushimitsu. Ushimitsu figures she's worried about what'll happen to Asami. Well, since she's going to be married and have kids of her own sooner or later, he figures it'd be in their best interest for Asami to be placed in another home. What would Asami think when Sayoko has her own child? Would she feel she has a place? Will they really be happy like that? That's what Ushimitsu believes...

Somewhat spoilerish material lies ahead. Read if so inclined ;)

Tachibana and Mahiru go to Narutakisou. Mahiru's there to retrieve Sayoko, her older sister. Mahiru explains to a rather incensed Momono that she's not kidnapping her or anything -- she's just taking her home. If they've got issues then come visit -- Mahiru gives Momono a rough map. Mahiru and Asami ride away with Tachibana and Mahiru to their house.

The Narutakisou gang heads to the school festival at Kozue and Tamami's high school and enjoys the usual kind of school festival activities there. Tamami's five bullseyes at once at the archery game was impressive. Scary ;)

Buchou also shows up and does some fortunetelling for Asami ("little one") and Sayoko.. which you should pay attention to because she's right on (hint, hint). For Asami.. her card is temperance, a card that tells of the importance of things. She's a thrifty and honest person. Other ideas that the card indicates are "Complicated relationships", "A mistake of love", and "Sudden changes".. For Sayoko, her card is.. of course, death, the stoppage of everything ;) Otherwise, it indicates "A hand approaching from the darkness", "unopposable force", and "Regret that cannot recover". And there's more! "An overflowing sense of powerlessness", "conflicting feelings", "A time of decision". Sayoko hides under the table after hearing that, scared, as usual :)

After fortunetelling and visiting Kozue's class, a girl comes running to Kozue asking for help. Hiro-chan, of the orchestral club, has a little problem -- her piano player and violin player are hurt and can't play so she needs people to replace them to play Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. Can anyone do that? Sayoko raises her hand and pretends to play a violin... Momono can play piano. So they're saved? The auditorium is packed with people to watch the performance, among them, Mahiru-chan and her dojikko maid, Sakura. Momono and Sayoko take the stage wearing high school uniforms and start playing... and wow. They're pretty darn good. Never would've guessed that one ;)

Back at Mahiru's house, a man watches the footage of Asami and Sayoko Tachibana gathered. He asks Tachibana if Mahiru met Sayoko without telling him. He's not too pleased with the answer...

Y'all like Sayoko this time? Great stuff from her (and the rest of the gang) as usual :)

Buchou's fortunetelling is not in the chapter of the manga with the school festival, it's earlier on... btw, in the manga she also has nicknames for Sayoko, "Human trash", and Shiratori, tamanashi, "No-balls" ;) Anyways, having Buchou tell us Asami and Sayoko's fortunes here was an excellent move. It sets us up well for the next story thread involving Asami and Sayoko, so remember them for the next couple of episodes. I wonder if they'll cover some stuff from the manga that was skipped over since I think it'd be important for giving us the whole backstory here... We'll see.

Besides that, with the remaining episode count low, I wonder where we're going to end up with things. A second season of Mahoraba excellence wouldn't be too much to ask for, would it? ;)

We take a look at everybody's day this time with liberal use of the rewind button. Johnny and his human slave get shafted as usual, but who cares about them? It turns out it was all a video made by Tachibana for Mahiru's use.. She said something rather interesting at the end while watching Sayoko and Asami's movie... "nee-sama", "big sister"... More on that in coming episodes ;)

Check Satoshi's entry for more details :)

Well, I thought this was going to be Johnny's (and his human) chance to be the main character in an episode, but they went another direction with it, making it an anime original. Who needs to know anything about Johnny anyways? ;) Since this was fillerish stuff I'll keep it short.

Shiratori has another nightmare, this time involving all of Kozue's personalities being together at one time, but, little does he know, that day it'll become something of a reality. While everybody else is out except for Kozue and Shiratori, some cats who wondered into Narutakisou cause the "perfect storm" of situations to change Kozue into her different personalities: first, Saki-chan, then Nanako-chan (who reads picture books to the cats, then plays house with Shiratori, with her being "Mama" and Shiratori "Papa", and the cats their kids), then Chiyuri-chan (those poor cats...), then finally Natsume-chan (who puts on a magic show).

Quite a rough day for Shiratori, but fun for me to watch him deal with it ;) I guess they wanted to get Kozue's other personalities out there since we won't be seeing them for a few episodes, probably. Next time, "Everybody's Day", taking a look at the daily lives of the residents of Narutakisou, just as the title says ;)

Okay, kids, make sure you don't sit too close to the TV... maybe... no maybes!

チビ珠美ちゃん可愛いよ、珠美ちゃん!!(≧∇≦)

Tamami was much more cute than scary when she was smaller :)

チビ梢ちゃん可愛いよ、梢ちゃん!!(≧∇≦)

And we can't forget about Kozue-chan, either :)

Now that I've got that said, this time we took a look back at Tamami-chan's past and how she met (and fell for) Kozue-chan. Tamami-chan was quite a different Tamami-chan before she met Kozue-chan. She was a genius, a perfect kid who could do anything, but she wasn't happy at all. Didn't have any friends, either.. Well, that was until she met a strange girl called Kozue in 4th grade and things went from there :)

And soon, Tamami-chan came to have a certain feeling when she was with Kozue-chan, a feeling different from anything she'd felt before with other people. And one day she finally said what she felt to Kozue-chan, otherwise known as doing the "kokuhaku thing" on this blog. Kozue-chan replies back with the same, that she likes Tamami-chan as well, a whole lot. And they've been best friends, or perhaps more than that to Tamami-chan, ever since.

But the entrance of a guy named Shiratori into Kozue's life will make things difficult for Tamami in the future as some of y'all have mentioned in the comments, and as was seen in the episode when she ran off after "hot stuff" told her that Shiratori went home with Kozue. Yes, that will eventually happen and Tamami-chan will have to come to grips with it, but we'll talk about that more when that happens.. This is probably my favorite chapter in the manga and it worked well in making this one of my favorite episodes in the anime as well.

Next time, "Nyaanyaanyaa". So that'll probably be the story -- the only one in the manga -- where Johnny and his human, Haibara, are the main characters ;)

After taking a look at the picture book Shiratori did for a project ("Haru" that was in the last two episodes) Shirogane-sensei calls Shiratori for a talk and informs him that she'll be making a little visit to Narutakisou. Shiratori's three friends go along with them, with "hot stuff" still looking here and there for his beloved Reiko (Shiratori as a girl).

Back at Narutakisou, Tamami places something on the wall outside, a charm to protect from evil spirits, she says. Asami-chan walks up with her two friends: Sa-chan, the Kansai-ben speaking friend, and Mi-chan, the friend with the very ojou-sama attitude (who also calls Asami-chan Kurosuke-san). Someone else is also there... that girl Asami-chan met at the beach. She's Mahiru, and she's there along with her maid, Tachibana (who's a kick-ass maid, much like Lilica from GIRLS Bravo second season). Mi-chan tries to get Mahiru to play with her, but Sa-chan smacks her over the head with a dictionary to quiet her down ;)
