...and so we'll have to wait another episode to see Karasu take on Fukurou. And after that comes Uchida-san's Quantum Physics for Dummies lecture. Hope y'all paid attention in your physics classes at school (^^;;) I'll assume that y'all are familiar with stuff like Schrödinger's Cat and many worlds theory and not repeat what Uchida-san said ;) So anyways, the "Magic Circle" program that the government is researching is a plan to use properties of quantums to transmit huge amounts of information almost instantly... however, one issue: could destroy this universe and every other one (^^;;;) Hmmm... and there's something else: turns out that Haruka's father was involved with the project, but quit after he found out how dangerous it was.
Other than that, we also got a look at Isami's family. His mother and father died, so he lives with his big brother. His big brother is a riot to say the least (^^;;) Seems he's got a little sister as well... he doesn't quite get why Yuu insists on still taking the test to go to that private school in Tokyo. They'd be separated.. but his brother gives him some good advice: they'll still be friends though separated. And it's something Yuu decided on his own anyways, so they make up :) Fukurou and Karasu saw the whole thing, and when they talk they both call each other by their real names...
Next time looks like we'll get to finally get to see the Karasu/Fukurou fight. Should be good :)

Ai, Miho, and Isami are a bit surprised by the change in Yuu's mom. And they don't quite believe what Haruka tells them. Stuff like that is "Arieneeee!", right? But after seeing Karasu, well ;) Our insane friend Atori is in good form as usual, this time trying to hunt down Yuu. Poor Tobi... sucks to be her (^^;;) Fukurou steps in to save Yuu and Isami, though. Fukurou also finally shows some definite proof that he's the future Isami -- Arieneeee! gives it away ;) Karasu-Atori fight was very cool (as usual). But Haruka's in a bit of a pinch at the end there.... Karasu'll come save her, of course. Karasu is definitely Haruka-moe ;)

Yuu's mom is extremely pissed and extremely scary (((( ;゚Д゚)))ガクガクブルブル She's at Haruka's house in search of Yuu, but instead gets invited in for a drink by Haruka's easygoing mom. Turns out, as expected, that both were pretty good friends back in the day when they were in middle school. Meanwhile, Yuu gets to have a face to face with Karasu -- basically, Karasu tells him to stop being a wuss and protect Haruka. Yuu also tells Haruka about what happened to his mom after her sister died... she wouldn't stop talking about her, always comparing Yuu to her. Haruka decides that they should ask Yuu's mom directly why she's doing that, but after Yuu reminds his mom that she started acting that way after her sister's funeral, something happens and she disappears...

Atori, Tobi, and Isuka head out to capture the Dragon's Torque on their own.... meanwhile, Ai and Haruka go over to Miho's house, where we meet her mother. Who is pretty much just as expected considering Miho -- easy to see where Miho got it from (^^;;) Ai and Haruka grudgingly play along with Miho as she gets out a Oujia board and asks it for an answer as to why Haruka's worrying about things so much. The answer it gives? Noein. No one has an idea of what Noein is, though... so on with asking more interesting things... like when is Miho going to get married (^^;;)
Karasu watches Haruka as she leaves Miho's house with Ai. Fukurou arrives and sees Karasu seems to be reminded of someone by Haruka.. but that Haruka isn't the Haruka they know. Fukurou tells Karasu to be careful since Atori's around... Koriyama screws around with Uchida-chan (what he calls her) for a bit, then we move to Yuu's house. As Yuu comes down from his room his mom asks what he wants to eat.. as he starts to say something she says she knows him best, so he should listen to what she says. She knows he can do it, just like his older sister... Isami sits on the sidelines during soccer pratice, supposedly doing "image training" as Ai comes over to tell him to stop being lazy. The topic of conversation is Yuu... Yuu's mom took his phone away so they can't call him... Ai sends a nice shot over towards the goal where some other guys are slacking off. Scary ;) That night, Yuu is, as usual, alone in his room with his razor blade. Haruka tries to signal him from her house by flashing a flashlight, but he doesn't pay any attention...

Opening: "Idea" by eufonius: Good song as expected from eufonius. Fits the mysterious mood of the show well. But the animation to go with it.. some good stuff, but there's a good bit of reused stuff from the first episode. There oughta be a rule against doing that :P
Ending: 「夜明けの足跡」 "Yoake no ashiato" by solua: Typical ending stuff with mostly static images and such.

First off, yes, you are watching Noein, though the character designs are just a wee bit different this time because there's a different animation director. They're more detailed and have a bit more of a "moe"-ish feel. The girls also seem to be a bit more... ahem... well endowed than they were last time... I do like this look (minus what I just mentioned), but it's just too different than what was established last time. Things seem like they'll be back to "normal" next time.
Go over to Cinnamon Ass for the detailed summary and such of this time. Just a few thoughts from me after the break. And sorry for being so late with things ;)

In a wasteland, a giant ring takes shape, then a rather odd looking ship with some chanting humanoids of some sort on it appears. Some guys in black capes fight it in the sky, with one called Karasu taking it down quite easily with his powers.... shifting scenes, a girl sees that man on top of a chapel while a blue "snow" falls to the ground... a girl, Haruka, wakes up from that dream and heads out to school in Hakodate, waking up her lazy mother on the way. In Haruka's class at school, a meganekko, Miho, tells her classmates about some ghosts that have been appearing recently. After the teacher arrives one of the boys in the class, Isami Fujiwara, asks if he could get a date with her during summer break. Nope ;) But while everybody else has a good laugh, Haruka looks at one boy sitting silently... After class Miho suggests to Haruka, along with another one of her classmates, Ai, that they have a little kimodameshi, "test of courage", and search for those ghosts. And Isami's coming, too. He seems to be a bit scared... Isami wants Yuu to go as well, but Yuu's got to go to cram school. Seems recently that he hasn't been getting along well with anybody.
