Skipping the OP this time, it's almost time for Petoko and Chochomaru to leave for Hakata to start work on Chochomaru's Imoten project. Shingo doesn't seem to be too happy, as could be expected. At the school everybody's getting ready for Petoko's farewell party... Petoko arrives and everybody comes to see her, asking her to send mail and stay in touch with them. Kiyomi says she's cheering her on, and Kanna comes by to first apologize for the bad things she said to Petoko a while back, and then to read a letter from her brother with her... Chie happens up Nuri, Chochomaru, and Petoko going over the top secret plan to get Kuguru and Shingo together. However, Petoko's mom seems she might have caught onto things after infiltrating their secret meeting last time.. but not really. However, the plan ends up not going quite as.. planned. Kuguru gives Shingo a big stack of her summer homework to do and marches off. Petoko talks to Kuguru outside -- if Shingo doesn't finish that work before 8 he won't be at Petoko's party. Kuguru then gives Petoko a nice talking to -- everybody's there because of her, for her sake, so Kuguru's not going to go with the plan. She tells Petoko to show some guts... Suddenly, those things that were over at Yuri-sensei's place head towards the school...

Petoko (still as police chief for the day) confronts her father, Tonio, about what's he's done, but when Kanna arrives (along with her father) she comes to his defense, saying that he helped her out. Kanna's father won't accept that answer -- she has no idea who this guy is, right? Kanna answers: "I already know him and he's helped me out. And he's my friend's father". She knew her father wouldn't let her go to Tokyo so she went on her own without telling him... Her father then slaps her.. she runs off with her dog and Petoko and Shingo follow her.

When Petoko catches up with Kanna she tells her that she saw her brother in Tokyo. Shingo asks how Tonio got involved in all of this, and she tells him all that Tonio did for her. Kanna's father then shows up to tell her to come home, but then Waga-kun shows up out of nowhere (way to ruin the mood there, man), apparently to do the usual and collect information on what's going on. Kanna tells Petoko that her brother's going out with a youkai. She thought he was being fooled like her father thinks so she went to see if that was the case, to see what kind of person she was. She asks Waga-kun if her brother's happy -- he replies that she already knows the answer. She could tell that he was happy, and Petoko says the same. Tonio shows up, out of handcuffs, and he and Petoko seem to be getting along well, as Kanna says. She'd like for things to be that way in her family... perhaps her father wants to fix things as well.

When Kuguru (carrying Chie), Shingo, and Petoko's mom arrive back at Shingo's house a group of not so nice looking guys is in front. Apparently they're there to collect the debt a certain Tonio owes them. Kuguru won't have any of it so she does her thing and kicks some serious butt :) Said Tonio is actually Petoko's father... Kanna's mother is out and her father is busy as well so she's left all alone... Kuguru and Petoko cools themselves off as CHochomaru arrives to remind Petoko that they're going to be police chief for the day as part of their duties as Miss Little Sister and all. Shingo's going to be doing some photography for it so Kuguru goes to wake him up -- seems he's still rather jealous after what happened last time between Petoko and Ryuuta (^^;)

Petoko and Chochomaru do their thing at the police station, all dressed up in police uniforms -- though Petoko's is a bit big for her -- and go out on patrol. Meanwhile, Kanna arrives in Tokyo, presumably to see her brother. However, she gets lost and ends up being cornered by a bunch of thugs -- thankfully, and old guy with a nifty stun 3 people at once stun gun saves her. Though he doesn't look it, he seems to be a rather kind guy, offering to help Kanna around. Around this time Kanna's father discovers that she's left.... When Kanna and the old guy arrive at her brother's apartment it's locked... but the guy's got some more tricks and unlocks the door -- no one's there, of course. Kanna's brought her photo of her brother, missing her brother's girlfriend. Seems they're off in America for the month so they won't be back soon...

Mornings at Shingo's house have gotten rather busy with Kuguru, Chochomaru, Petoko's mom, and Petoko coming to live with him. Kuguru is scary in the morning (^^;) Petoko and Shingo do their part time jobs in the morning delivering newspapers and milk. After the job's done Kanna comes by walking her dog... Petoko's really excited about going to Tokyo to work at an exhibition of the town's products and such as a konpanion -- not meaning "companion", but rather the ladies who present things at shows and the like. Kanna is Kanna as usual. After getting Nuri-chan -- chibi-sized for easy traveling. kawaii~! -- and Konuri-chan, and after participating in the radio excercises it's time to head off to Tokyo. Shingo stays at home where things have definitely gotten quieter.

So Petoko and the rest arrive in the Ginza section of Tokyo. Petoko, being a country bumpkin, is rather excited to be in the big city. According to Nuri-chan Tokyo has good cement :) There's a good crowd there, mostly of onii-chan armed with cameras -- I'm sure the "Sister Paradise" in big hiragana on the sign at the entrance to the exhibition had something to do with that. Is that really a good way to advertise your town? (^^;;) On stage, Chochomaru, Petoko, Chie, Yuu-chan, Nuri-chan, Konuri-chan, and Petoko's mother welcome everyone by doing the "nyomi" thing.

Quickie mode for this time since I'm kinda behind ;)

Petoko comes back to try and calm down Chochomaru, but it doesn't work. Kuguru arrives, so she finally faces off with her little sister, but things weren't always so between the two. Chochomaru, though she's a kappa, can't swim well so Kuguru was teaching her, just like any big sister would. After Kuguru decided to not inherit the family business (kappas are a matriarchal society) and leave is when relations started to break down. Chochomaru thought Kuguru's abandoning her by leaving the family, but that's not the case... Shingo jumps in to explain to Chochomaru that Kuguru really does care for her -- she's just trying to find a place that's right for her. Chochomaru finally understands... so relations are patched up between those two -- Kuguru'll teach Chochomaru how to swim this time. And so the Miss Little Sister contest starts up once again... nyomi!

We left off last time with Petoko chasing Kuguru's little sister, Chochomaru... After Petoko interrupted Kuguru and Chochomaru's little fight to the death there with an explanation of the birds and the bees. Petoko's followed Chochomaru all the way to her office, where she once again wants to start up the birds and bees lecture (^^;;) Chochomaru isn't interested at all, and would rather Petoko go home. Petoko comments that she must be a lonely kid... then she adminsters a bit of discipline since Chochomaru's been such a bad girl ;) Doesn't look like Chochomaru and Kuguru are going to be making up soon, though...

So it's time for the much awaited Miss Little Sister Contest -- that would be "minyocon" for short. Everybody's there to enjoy the festivities before the contest starts. However, Chochomaru's there to participate in the contest as well... After some banter backstage things start with Yuu-chan, Jeremy's little sister. Is she really related to him? She's too cute to be (^^;;) Then Chie, then Petoko and her mom, who's dressed up in a bikini for no reason.. and also Konuri-chan, Nurie's little sister. Chochomaru finally makes her entrance as Kuguru watches back at Yuri-sensei's place.

First of all, sorry for being late with things, and secondly, bluemist has pointed out a site with SSA format subtitles for Petopeto-san 1-3. They look good to me, so I suppose I don't need to write quite as much here ;)

Shingo's not seeming so happy about things after his little run in with Kiyomi. We're very much shown the details of what happened, and why Kiyomi did so was explained also (as I mentioned last time, she's related to the Akaname that lick bathrooms clean and such).

As for Petoko, well, she and her mom are about out of food at home, and then their electricity is cut off as well. Petoko's lack of food shows itself, as the next day she's gotten rather transparent like her mother. Shingo notices and buys her something to drink, and then after school he gets the others to help him collect some money for Petoko. Though Kanna's rather uninterested in helping out a "monster" as usual :P

Over dinner that night, Shingo's dad brings up an interesting fact about the town -- it's the only place in Japan where 100% of families with two or more children have little sisters. The town has a "Miss Little Sister" pageant and he wants Shingo to get the girls in his class -- the "Special Races" girls as well -- to participate in it. There's a nice prize, too -- 100,000 yen. That'd help Petoko with her money problems, wouldn't it?

Shingo gives Petoko the money he raised, and she tells him she'll be going to cheer him on at his table tennis tournament. She, along with everybody else, ends up being more of a distraction than anything (^^;;) Afterwards, they head out to get some ramen, with Petoko paying using the money that was given to her. But, after arguing over ramen and being rather loud -- and Jeremy showing us his lack of a face after pulling that wrestling mask off (^^;;) -- they get kicked out. A couple of MIB-looking types were there in the ramen place... it seems Kuguru's little sister has found her... Everybody ends up going to Shingo's place to finally have some good ol' ramen.

Seems we'll see Kuguru's sister, Chochomaru, again next time. She's apparently president of an industrial company and is described in her character profile as a "sexy seven year old that's to be feared in the future" (I'm not kidding). She sounds like quite something (^^;;) We also found out this time that Kanna apparently wasn't so mean to the "special races" in the past, so perhaps sometime we'll learn what exactly made her call them all "monsters" now.

Anyways, Petoko was cute as usual so I'll be looking forward to next time. And what crazy harem comedy-like situation will Shingo-kun find himself in next? ;)

It's a hot day at school so everybody's gathered around Nuri-chan to cool off. Nuri-chan's a nurikabe -- she can take on properties of various sufaces like cement, etc. and she can't speak so words show up on her rather big forehead instead. Since she's hard Petoko won't stick to her, thankfully. Kiyomi, the iinchou is rather displeased with the racket going on as usual... Petoko talks to Shingo and says there's someone after her. Kanna says rather than stalker it's someone who's there to get the debt that Petoko's family owes repaid. Kuguru takes exception to that, and Kiyomi tells them to stop it. Kanna calls Petoko a binbou (poor)... and the samurai guy sits down, takes his sword out and points it at himself... but he'll be okay -- he's a samurai zombie ;)

The boys sit outside with Yuri-sensei (or Tomo-chan as the guys call her) as the rest of the class plays softball. Talk of a guy in their class named Waga comes up -- even though he's in their class he hasn't shown up. Seems that some girls from the high school supposedly saw him...

Yuri-sensei and Kiyomi talk about what Kiyomi plans to do in the future. She's not going to go to the high school there since she wants to a higher level of education. It's going to be more expensive, but she's going for a scholarship -- that's why she's a class rep among other things. But why go on to university now? To fight, she says. The rerorero aren't much more than a tokutei shuzoku ("special race") now anyways. Kiyomi asks Yuri-sensei to be her ally. There's nothing but allies and enemies to Kiyomi, it seems. Her classmates won't help her out since the school's nothing but a microcosm of society...

After school, Shingo walks with Petoko. She tells Shingo a bit more about the petopeto -- they're more the stalkers. They're born looking rather like her mother. She's been able to have a body more like a human, but her sisters haven't and they've probably disappeared and will become petopeto stalkers... It's not really fair that Petoko was born differently, since the others are stuck with the fate of the ero-ero stalker monster petopeto, on the verge of extinction. Shingo objects to her thinking like that... and suddenly, Nuri-chan's face appears on the wall. "The wall has eyes and ears as well" ;)

A boy and girl lie together on a futon, seemingly holding hands. How did this happen?

Go back to school earlier that day. The class is out swimming in the pool when that girl, trying to get away from a bug, falls into the pool. The boy grabs her hand and ends up falling in along with her... the girl just transferred to the school 2 weeks earlier. She's Hatoko Fujimura, a petopeto-san. What's a Petopeto-san? Just like the name implies, they're rather sticky sort, and if someone grabs on hard enough they'll get stuck together and the only thing that'll fix it is sleep...

So now the boy, Shingo, and Hatoko are stuck together, so the only thing to do is to head back to Hatoko's and try to get some sleep. As they walk back, Hatoko apologizes for the mess... go back to one week earlier: Hatoko, or Petoko, as the students call her, is the subject of much conversation in the school halls. Seems relations aren't quite good between humans and the non-humans like Petoko and some others in the class... Shingo's tells Hatoko it'll be fine. But will he be able to sleep like this? As Shingo and Hatoko walk away, the girl who had been complaning about the non-humans once again says that it's impossible for humans and 妖怪 monsters to learn together. The glasses girl immediately corrects her very un-PC statement -- they're not monsters, they're 特定種族, a "special race/species".

Shingo and Hatoko arrive at Hatoko's. There seems to be a ghost of some sort around which rather scares Shingo... well, there is -- it's Hatoko's mother. She tells Hatoko's she's picked right -- must be providence acting here ;) Hatoko and Shingo walk down to the room where they'll be sleeping -- a futon is set in the middle with two pillows. We all know what that means (cue the sax!). Hatoko's mom says she'll be gone for a couple of hours, hint, hint ;)

So... how are Shingo and Hatoko going to get changed? Hatoko asks Shingo to do some yoga with her? Yoga...? Shift the camera to outside looking in as we see Shingo and Hatoko's shadows in, well... seemingly compromising positions ;)
