September 25, 2006Good Monday afternoon to everyone. Hopefully y'all are all feeling better than I am now. I'm still pretty much out of things for now and don't really have the energy to do much, but I would like to at least give an update on how I've been doing so y'all know I'm still around and all. Still haven't really regained my appetite, but I've finally gotten some sleep and such, I'm not quite as much on edge now, and now the doctors have put me on some stuff that should help some more, so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon.
Guess what came in yesterday? DVD 13 of Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime with a nice box -- still missing a few volumes so I'll have to get those whenever I get paid again -- and the first Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime Gyu! DVD. No pics since my camera is broken, has been broken for more than month, and it doesn't look like it'll be able to be replaced :( There was an insert in the Gyu DVD about a Fine/Rein version of the first ED, but.... new 2nd ending looks like it'll be Wonder 5 again, so we'll have to see how it turns out. I would think they'd change the OP, too, because they've got to put the new character in there (and it's odd to have evil Toma in there anyways).
Anyways, I am keeping up watching as best I can, so when I do feel like writing a bit more I'll probably do a really quick roundup of everything that's been going on and do my best to write something about the shows that have been ending over the past week and that will be ending this week, 'kay? Thank y'all for being patient with me :)
ADV Universe Download Service
ADV has started their own digital download service named ADV Universe, offering individual episodes (dub only) in Windows Media format for $4.99 an episode.... I believe I'll just buy the DVD at that price...
Been a while since I've posted something, hasn't it? Sorry 'bout that (^^;;) I haven't exactly been feeling all that great over the past week -- not able to sleep well, not able to eat a lot, so on, so on, and it's taking a while for me to get over it, but hopefully I'll be feeling better after a few more days and can get back into the routine. I might skip some things over, but I'll definitely catch up blogging with at least Otogi Juushi Akazukin and last Saturday's Futago Hime Gyu! since those Saturday morning shows are mine ;) Anyways, a check of the news for today... ah, before that, AWA is coming up this weekend. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go or not, but if I can go it'll be on Saturday. And if any of y'all are going to be there, then perhaps we can meet up somewhere ;) Anyways, news of the day:
Inukami! Movie (via MOON PHASE)
....are you serious? Can they really show hentais running around with zou-sans (and 16cm zou-san cannons) out on the big screen? Would anybody want to see that in the first place? It'll certainly be interesting to see how it turns out (^^;;)
Bah... Labor Day holiday really threw off my sleeping schedule, so I've been up odd hours of the night and then not sleeping very well at all.. like that's anything new for me, though. Anyways, it's been somewhat difficult to keep up with things this week because of things (playing FF3 DS, then going a day without watching stuff, which really messes things up), but I have finally been able to catch up with Simoun, so I think I'll have something to say about it later on :) But for now, a bit of news.
New Kino's Journey Movie (via MOON PHASE)

A new Kino's Journey (Kino no Tabi) movie is in the works, no details on release date or anything as of now. I really liked the series and the first movie (even one of my friends that doesn't watch anime liked it), so good news :)
Update: The official website has the news now
SHUFFLE! MEMORIES this Winter
SHUFFLE! MEMORIES, a "director's cut" version of what was shown on WOWOW, will be on Chiba TV and other channels for the upcoming winter season. There will be a new OP/ED, and also new episodes, so there's still something for those that already watched SHUFFLE!
Manabi Straight! Director
...is nobody in particular, just "Team Manabi Room". Always being one for doing things a bit differently, ufotable will be using a new system -- each episode director and animation producer will work together to take care of directorial duties.
And in not really anime-related news:
Death Note, Hikaru no Go Mangaka Arrested for Weapon Possession (via Yahoo News)
Takeshi Obata was arrested early in the morning on the 6th for possession of an 8.6cm army knife (it's illegal to possess a knife longer than 6cm without a justifiable reason) after being pulled over because one of his car's headlights was out. He said he had the knife for camping, but nothing else indicated that to be the case.
Japan celebrates male heir to the throne (via Yahoo News)
Congrats to Princess Kiko and Prince Akishino :) And of all the people on the street that TV Tokyo could have gotten to do an interview about this, they somehow got Meijin Takahashi (might recognize him as the titular character of Takahashi Meijin no Boukenjima, otherwise known as Adventure Island in the US). Quite a coincidence there ;)
PS3 Delayed in Europe; Shipments to US and Japan Reduced by Half (via GameSpot)
I'm not surprised in the least that Europe got screwed again. But more than that, the 400,000 units for US and 100,000 units in Japan for launch (ramping up to around 2 million total for both by the end of the year) is going to leave a lot of people without a PS3. Good luck to those of y'all that'll be trying to get one on launch day (^^;;) Meanwhile, Nintendo says that they'll have 6 million Wiis by the end of March next year. There's an event in NYC next Thursday (in Japan as well, and in Europe the next day) where details on launch will supposedly be revealed, so we'll what the price and date are then :)
Good first day of September to everybody. Already? Things are going by too fast for me (^^;;) Anyways, blogging has been light the past couple of days since I had a bit of a trip to the emergency room late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. Don't know exactly what caused me to almost pass out, but after getting to the hospital and having an IV hooked up I was okay after a few hours. Doctor said my magnesium and potassium were low, so I'm taking stuff to bring those back up to normal. Anyways, nothing big or anything, just being safe rather than sorry. I was under orders to rest, so I spent most of the day yesterday sleeping, and when I was awake playing through FF3 DS (at the Dwarf Cave now). Back at work today since I'm feeling a lot better :)
To attempt to make up here, how about I give some thoughts on the past week (or two) of things that I've watched? These might be moved to separate entries later on once I add some screencaps.
